Is this the greatest depression-electro-synthpop artist to ever exist?
Is this the greatest depression-electro-synthpop artist to ever exist?
no and she's ugly
No. Grimes is.

>grimy pussy
>good besides 2 songs
>2 songs
She has way more good songs, buddy. Stop fooling yourself.
i luv grimes but her music has nothing to do with depression
it's melancholy at times maybe, but that's about it
>her music has nothing to do with depression
Are you sure?

"Visions was an extremely cathartic album to make. I went through a period a few years back when I was really addicted to drugs. Two of my best friends died, I had this really fucked-up assault experience and I was constantly in and out of terrible relationships. I never really dealt with all that, but I eventually realised that by making songs I could work through these things that had been plaguing me for years."
As a result, Claire reckons there is a "weird jubilance" to Visions. "It can totally be a party album if you want, which is hilarious to me because it's so tortured. But because it's about sloughing off that pain, there is a kind of joy in the way it takes you from UTTER DEPRESSION to utter ecstasy."
she sounds like a retard
yea, i get the feeling she has no idea what depression is
>being this autistic

is not depressive enough? Where's your empathy? Oh, you never had one.
the fact that she can discuss things like this so glibly implies to me that the emotions are in fact, contrived
being depressed != suffering from depression
with depression you can't point to a cause, you just feel shitty for apparently no reason, all the time
Not sure about the greatest, but she's great and rarely talked about on here it seems.
grimesposters and the people who take their bait, why do you do this? If you think she's the greatest depression-electro-synthpop artist, that's fine but ffs this is getting out of hand. Who gives a fuck if grimes has clinical depression, I'm pretty sure that the OP wasn't asking if iamamiwhoami is the greatest electro-synthpop artist that has depression. If they were, then all hope was lost from the start.
I really wanted to talk about Jonna lee. grimeshitters need their own containment board at this point
because it's academic what kind of synthpop it is
even if it was 'synthpop artists who sing about cars' you'd get grimesposters coming in and claiming it
doesn't matter, just the words 'greatest' and 'synth' are enough to get them going
You must be stupid, then. Why did you ASK
>Is this the greatest depression-electro-synthpop artist to ever exist?
if you're not prepared to get different opinions?
>grimeshitters need their own containment board at this point
Hey retard, it's perfectly ok to talk about any artist if it's on topic. Read the fucking rules and stop it with this containment nazi nonsense.
Turning the thread into a grimes circle jerk is not 'different opinions'
Thoughts on her new song?
That's not a circle jerk, you jerk. The thread's original post consists of a QUESTION related to depression-electro-synthpop, and Grimes is perfectly suited to such a discussion. Deal with it.
I don't even mind Grimes, but I feel pretty much hit the nail on the head when the mention of greatest and synth pretty much opens the floodgates. Why can't you enjoy both? Even if you prefer Grimes, there's no need to jump right into turboautism.
In a vain attempt to bring this full circle and discuss Jonna, I somehow missed the release of SAMARITAN and I wonder how the Ionnalee album will be, seems like it will be pretty good from what I saw of the video, going to give it a full proper listen after this album is over though. you responded after I wrote this but it applies. I'm excited for pretty much anything Jonna puts out, she's had a great catalogue so far.
not even OP, but nobody said you weren't entitled to your opinion on either artist, or any for that matter. It's the way these posts are presented is the problem, if your point was presented in more a more intellectual fashion than which leads to the polar oppisite of grimesposters flooding in at the mention of her name who present such thoughtful posts like . Then it became a discussion on whether she has actual depression or not, which I am still pretty positive wasn't even what the OP was trying to imply about Jonna. Is it hard to see why this thread if you read it beginning to end, would be frustrating if you are trying to discuss music, even if the OP posed the question in a way that could've been worded better, the derailment in here is ridiculous.
samaritan is looking to be what I'd expect from her, she certainly has an eye for the visual "experience" aspect of things to weave in an esoteric and secretive atmosphere to her songs.
>It's the way these posts are presented is the problem, if your point was presented in more a more intellectual fashion than which leads to the polar oppisite of grimesposters flooding in at the mention of her name who present such thoughtful posts like .
That's subjective. Also expecting intellectual posts on this god awful meme board is ridiculous.
>expecting intellectual posts on this god awful meme board is ridiculous
Yeah I got caught up in delusion, decided to just move on and do something else with my time than argue in circles with what will just come down to opinion. Occasionally there's some good discussions here, although today they seem really hard to find.
