High class automotive mechanic here. ask me anything about cars, mechanics or problems youre having with your car
whats a good base line to self repair and save cash
My biggest problem with a car is that I don't have one. And I just completely fucked up my scooter.
what the fuck does a mechanic mean when says there is air in the transmission fluid
checked
whats the best car to have gay sex in?
My car is on fire. How do I fix this?
Is it better to trade a car for a new one with more features/luxury or just outfit it with aftermarket parts?
start walking
I got this 2 stroke 80ccm engine layin around. It wont Start. Why?
I was thinking "Is that mmk?", then I read the file name
Not sure what you mean. If you have a particular issue with your car, I can help you fix it, which would save you cash from paying an actual mechanic to do it.
Get a job.
Air can mix/dissolve into the transmission fluid (this is called 'aeration') for several reasons. This will change the physical properties of the water, and cause issues like slippage/oxidation.
What kind of mechanic wears a blazer?
Also my SR20DET 180SX overheats all the time despite Mishimoto, large FMIC and oilcooler. Wat do?
God knows. Get a refund from the chinese seller you got it from.
Depends on your specific needs, budget, desires etc. Personally I would stick with the same car and modify it to my liking.
Probably a van/station wagon or something fitted with a mattress in the back.
My windshield fluid sprayer just stoped working. Fill the thing up with fluid but when I press down on it to spray it just makes a sound but now liquid comes out
basically just how to replace broken parts that don't require removing the engine block
For some reason when my truck starts and I press the brakes it causes it to stall out is the booster possibly leaking?
Car mechanic?!
Pfffftt....
Aircraft technician here little boy.
Your first mistake was buying a Nissan. Your "despite mishimoto, large fmic and oilcooler" doesn't tell me anything or help me to find the problem. It could be an issue with cooling, or the engine, and I would need to see it IRL to diagnose this.
I think a car mechanic is more useful tbh
Favorite type of fish?
I'm a tuna and salmon guy myself
The Thing is ist ran before. Then i didnt Start it for a year or two. Checked everyrhing. Cleaned everyrhing. Btw. Honda mb8
Probably fucked the pump
Not so much a question but: Fuck ABS pumps. I spent 3 hours today looking for a replacement for mine because I cant find a decent way to match up the type in my 01 golf to anything I could find there. Fuck cars
Get it replaced.
Could be lots of different things.
>Aircraft technician
aircraft mechanics are much simpler than automotive mechanics.
Thinking of getting an RX8. I know they drink oil but how bad could it be?
Can I use the electric engine in the Prius as a supercharger for a wankel engine? You know, like in a few super cars.
Well I also get backfire in the carb in the lower rpms. Could they be related?
My 03 mustangs rpm skips when getting up to speed or going up a hill. Any ideas?
>RX8
Like most young people buying sports cars, firstly make sure you are buying it because you need/want a SPORTS car (learn what that means) and not because "its fast" and "looks good". Oil is not an issue.
your recommended car maker brands to stay away from, with reason preferably?
also, which car brand do you recommend to buy for a regular consumer based on reliability?
which cars do you see most often in the shop?
Driving a megane automatic
Between 1000 and 2000 rpm there is an quiet tick tick tick, with constant speed
It just comes when im pushing the gas
Dont know what it is, the engine runs good, no problem with anything
Sounds like a misfire. Is it throwing a check engine light?
Get coil packs and spark plugs replaced.
My steed always gives a kick when I mount it, is this normal? Do I need to get a horseshoe repaired?
Replace parts until shit works, awesome advice.
Fuel injectors doing their job?
2001 chevy blazer loss of power and engine surges. Halp?
I have an EVAP signal thrown in my 2005 mini cooper s. It comes on randomly and I loose all acceleration and have to turn my car off to reset the ecu. I have replaced the gas cap already and it still throws the code. Any ideas?
I have a '93 Chevy Cavilier that produces too much carbon emissions while idle. How do I go about fixing this/getting it fixed? What price range am I looking at for a mechanic to fix this?
Alright guys im done answering questions.
Car hesitates while maintaining steady speed. Has oil leaking into spark plug wells. 2005 Suzuki forenza
Lol @ that generalization. Nothing like blue collars slugging it out over who will be automated last though.
Buy a car that isn't a piece of shit.
There is a tiny crack in the thing that holds the oil (motor?) Like when u change the oil and go underneath car, that metal thing, and it slowly drips oil, not a lot but nonetheless it does wat do?
Replace the thing with the hole in it dipshit
Not even a mechanic and I can tell you that much
I have a car problem
I don't have one
>wat do
>...faggot
You are most likely fucked
the 710 fell off, where can I find a replacement
Car started to shift clunkily and check engine light came on, checked my transmission fluid, and it was low so I put some in it, drove it around for a bit, the shifting feels better, but the light is still on, is there another problem? Or is the light just lingering from the low fluid?
Fix the servers instead
My truck started spewing white smoke out of tailpipe and won't start.
Fill the washer fluid and you should be all set.
It's like a huge metal container, looks like part of motor, don't wanna replace motor
Goodbye head gasket
I want to settle this once and for all: should I buy a completely new car from a dealership or should I buy a used car that's usually way cheaper than any of this dealership bullshit?
Like an oil pan?
Depends on how much money you have. Just like everything else.
My car is a motorcycle, wat do?
Buy another motorcycle and tie them together.
Buy used and save the difference
This might actually work
Buy used
Buying new is literally not worth it
When you go under your car to change oil u take a bolt out so the oil can drain, the thing where it drains from is what has the crack
Yeah, it's called an oil pan.
If it's throwing a code, you could tell what it was. Replacing coil packs and spark plugs would just be the next logical step if it is misfiring.
Used, always. Even if you want near new that's fine, you'll still save thousands and still have a 3 yr warranty (which they'll try & screw you on if you ever claim but meh, still worth it)
So is this easily replaceable, if so rough estimate to change
Next logical step is checking the plugs and coil packs. Not spending money and hoping shit works.
Depends on the car
I just said if it's throwing you a code. Fuck. dude.
Most cars would even tell you which cylinder was misfiring.
I'm 24 and have 24k $ in savings
Honda civic 2011
Did you watch top gear/do you watch their new series/what do you think of it
I own a Land Rover Discovery 2nd series, the motor is a TD5, recently I've noticed the turbocharger started doing a light whistle and the power seem to be lower, also before this problem, the maximum rpm where like 4200, now can't even get 2700-2800.
I was thinking to buy a new core assey, is this the right solution?
If it had a code, he wouldn't be asking what his problem was. 94-04 mustangs are know for bad fuel pumps, they don't throw codes and it would cause his problem.
smelling gasoline when the heater is turned on 2004 subaru outback 119k miles on it
haven't changed my oil in a year is this bad? rarely drive the car
You can get the oil pan for $70 but no clue on labor. I have never done one on that car.
99 durango throws the abs light and brake light randomly, as well as times of high rev/low power when below 1/4 tank. What should i do?
Go back to fixing the servers, Matk.
I bow down to your superior knowledge of shitbox American vehicles. I drive a Lincoln LS, btw.
How much that cost to fix ?
Used to have one, not that bad topped up every now and then, didn't really like that car though was boring
How do you get the smell of dead hooker out of the truck if she was in there for 3 weeks?
Depends on the truck but it can get super expensive fast
Replace it with a fresh dead hooker.
When I turned on my car the other day, it would violently shake, then turn off at idle, but it wouldn't do this when I would rev the engine a bit. How ever, it has n't been doing this when it's cold out, but I haven't had a chance to test it on a hot day lately. What's up with it?
In case it matters, it's a 1999 Acura 3.0CL
How do a get a screw loose is I fucked up the rails on the top
>English
Sounds like a MAF sensor
Yea it's a 2002 dodge Dakota that has the door bashed in from an accident so well probably junk it
That going to be expensive to replace/fix?
Worked great, thanks!
You screw car on top of boat long time
Is the reason there are no aus servers yet becasuse you are working on cars?
>1999 Acura 3.0CL
$40 online and easy to replace yourself
Just a headgasket job is around $600. It gets alot more if a head is bad or the block is warped.
Sweet, and one more thing.
I replaced my alternator by myself a couple of months ago, however, I broke one of the bolts that connected my alternator to the engine block from screwing it in too tightly, so it no longer has a head, and it's kind of in there deep. While it still holds my alternator nice and tight, if I ever have to replace it, i'm thinking I can just wiggle the damn thing and hope the bolt comes loose on it's own. If I can't do that, who/where do I go for some one to remove that bolt? How much do you think it'll cost too?
Yea the whole tube connected to the radiator is fucked and everything is burned badly .
2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse shakes a lot when idle but not when moving .
The gasket itself costs fuck all, it's the labour and using a torque wrench and all that that drives the cost up.
Is the bolt broken off flush with the block?
