Looking for rare song

It's not anyone popular it's not a famous band. I heard this song on the radio station in Buffalo called 103.3 the edge. They played it after they told the story. It was one guy who had a tune stuck in his head, and leared how to play the drums, guitar ect. He went and paid for studio time. He recorded for a few hours, finished his song and apparently dissapeared. Believe the song may be called Death train because he sings "ride the death train" I've called the radio station and they brush me off, declare the song is on their website. I've exhausted my search. Help?

I'm interested in the supposed story

do you have any idea of when this song was from?

Not exactly sure but it had electric guitar in it so I would say later than the 1970s

Not implying that the electric guitar wasn't around before then it just sounds more modern

The only other information that I have or found is that it may have been played at the end of a radio show played in Pittsburgh and was found on an old comedy mixtape by someone who posted it online but has since been deleted. Also it is a very catchy song although you can tell the singer had no professional experience

bump, sounds interesting, im curious.

did the song contain whistles or sound like blues?

Im pretty good at searching the internet so here is this if anyone can get the link to work. dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=7127.0

Sorry, no whistles or blues. It was more of a rock song. Not heavy but it sounded sort of sad.

ok well I found this guy's weird blues page where he has like 6,000 songs and I feel like I need to tell someone about it so here's that

filebox.vt.edu/users/mrouser/DEATHTRAIN.MP3

Looks like vt.edu stopped using the filebox service. Time to look for that .mp3 everywhere.

I haven't specifically searched for a mp3 since kazaa and Napster. Any suggestions on where to start looking?

well I got this far into the archive, but Mr. Rouser doesn't seem to have been attending vtech in 2001, the later archives don't seem to work but you might be able to jimmy them

Do you remember any line from it besides "Ride the Death Train"?

Found an article from Jan 1st 2000 that says this radio station played it to end their show every week. Find a broadcast of this show and it might have the song at the end.

All I remember is ride the death train over and over. There was about 20 different clips of Scott Paulsens show in Pittsburgh, and i listened to all of them. Still no death train. But I appreciate the help.

dont have any deets just wanted to say hi to a fellow buffalonian

Hey man, starting to get nice out. Feel free to call shred and Regan and bother them about this.
