The only valid reason to sound each letter in a board name is if you can't reasonably say the letters together, for example /vg/, or if there's only one letter, for example Sup Forums or /d/. The only exception being /vip/, which is said "V I P" instead of "vip" because "V I P" is actually a term already, whereas /jp/ or /tg/ is not.
There's no valid reason to say "M U" intead of "mu"
