indie rock of the 2000's is the reason rock is now dead

>I really like The Lion King soundtrack

I hate you all.

I have the highest shitpost ratio on Sup Forums this year so far.

I really hate myself

I only find a very small amount of music naturally catchy so I have to listen to an album like 10 times until I actually like it. Not really a confession, but I felt like getting it off my chest. This isn't normal, is it?

I like gorillaz and grimes

Never before have I cried to a piece of music before (although I've gotten close before).
But I know for a fact that whenever Bob Dylan dies, I'm gonna play this song on repeat and bawl my eyes out

This is the only good Death Grips album. Prove me wrong.

>Never heard anything by Neutral Milk Hotel
>Never heard anything by MBV
>Never heard anything by Animal Collective
>Never heard more than a few songs by Kanye that were in movies or whatever
>Never heard more than a few random songs by Radiohead
>Listened to the first three tracks of Exmilitary and then turned it off because it was terrible. Never listened to anything else by DG
>Listened to probably half an hour of Soundtracks for the Blind then turned it off. It wasn't horrible, just uninteresting. Never listened to any other Swans.

>>Listened to probably half an hour of Soundtracks for the Blind then turned it off. It wasn't horrible, just uninteresting. Never listened to any other Swans.
I tried like 3 or 4 times now, once under influence and it still didn't click.
What the fuck is Swans seriously...

in the aeroplane over the sea isn't avant-garde

who the fuck says this anyway? just some lo-fi folk/rock

I still haven't listened to swans.

Upbeat jrock is probably my favourite thing to listen to

Agree

Make it TPTB, and I am then on good terms, you contrarian faggot.

It's more normal than plowing through 10 new albums a week. You're still probs hearing way more new music than most normies.

>I own Goblin on Vinyl
>I have listened to The Pod everyday for the past few months

great confession

I have pretty much the same thing with more jpop also thrown in (also nice trips)

Radiohead is slightly above average at best

saved. Also check out Tricot if you haven't already

what the hell do you listen to

Hospice is a super boring album.

Can you rec things like the Pillows then? You sound like the guy to ask.
Also checked

Tricots good as hell just havent listened to them a lot lately

The only way I can climax is if I imagine I am having sexual intercourse with David Sylvian. For some reason it has ruined many relationships. Women am I right?

Scary Monsters and Super Creeps is the only Bowie album I've listened to. I tried listening to ziggy but it bored me so I never finished it
What I've listened to of NMH makes me think I won't like it
The only loveless track I like is Only Shallow

Also I have contempt for people who think Radiohead is great
Kid A isn't bad but it isn't great

jazz mostly

ive started numerous shitty memes often unintentionally

When it clicks, it'll really click. It really is like listening to a film. I find helpless child really turns people off the first few times.

>I haven't listened to Arca because his album art is disgusting

Bob Dylan songs are only good when performed by someone other than Bob Dylan

>Jimi Hendrix like a rolling stone
>The White Stripes one more cup of coffee
>this list goes on forever

TKOL and In Rainbows are both overrated as shit and I think AMSP is their best since HTTT. I don't dislike either one of them though.

...

They're allowed to think that. Plus, that last guy was clearly being ironic.

The first time I heard death grips was around the time before niqqas on the moon . So I found the little albums they had and added them to listen to when I had the chance . I was on a bus and decided to listen to ex military and I got absolutely nothing out of it . Nothing memorable besides guillotine and a huge fucking headache. Never listen to them again besides the money store and bottomless pit nothing memorable

Also I fucking hate Kanye along with any rapper that uses autotune or features lil Wayne because when that shit came out I was in middle school and that was probably that worst time of my life . I despised every single minute of it . I couldn't stand hip hop because of it until a few years ago .

Favorite Album?
Not sure why I'm morbidly curious

don't really do favorites but this is really good

I unironically like Ghost and DragonForce.

Radiohead - Daydreaming is their absolute worst song

I listen to twice as much kpop as every other genre combined

why would you have to confess anything

just be honest about your opinions

I've got nothing to confess.

Meh
Yes
Stop lying

I'm straight up brutally honest and true to whatever I'm thinking or feeling

I got nothing to confess, I am who I am

Honestly, Daydreaming is the most uninspirational garbage i've heard, and it just happened to be shit sprinkled with its own music video as well. The piano is nothing I haven't heard before as far as just some slow arpeggiated god damned bull shit. The first 4 seconds sounds like a fucking shlohmo song. There is nothing memorable about the vocals other than incoherent whining that just barely accompanies the key of the fuckin piano bull shit. Muh reverse vocals, muh strings. The "edgy secret message ooh" bullshit from this is just a fan service, and honestly they must have wrote this shit in like 4 minutes which is less than the actual length of trauma itself. I pumped at a gas station one night and saw this garbage playing on their stupid screen shit. 0/10

I listen to cumbia and salsa probably such as much as you do kpop
I don't like to bring it up because the other spics try to act all high and mighty but it only makes them look retarded

Never been to a live concert though I want to.
I used to have somewhat shit taste in high school, though I mostly listened to surface indie still.
And somewhat this except I have to listen to something like 3-4 times at least before I feel like I can make a judgment on them and sometimes more than that. I don't understand how people can have listened to literally thousands of albums.

It's a great example of dick riding a band such for the sake of their name being on it . In my opinion no artist has even put out consistently 8/10 - 10/10 material

I've never listened to anything by Nick Drake. Like, literally never.

Only concerts I've been to have been those nu metal festivals because I was dragged and that French circus thing and the circus sounded so much better and was actually entertaining

>It makes me think that I'm a pleb but I like every single album, LP, and live album Swans has released
>I can't listen to Death Grips for more than three minutes
>I dislike all music with the voice of a black person in it and that brings me shame
>I don't get Radiohead
>I enjoy Noise but I feel as if I shouldn't listen to it
>I have stopped seeking out new music to listen to
>I listen actively to Ambient/Drone

Ghost aren't really that divisive I don't think. I don't actively listen to then but I don't have a problem with them either.

I want to see a few musical acts, like Death Grips or Fucked Up sometime in my life.

Also, I consider myself a big fan of indie, rap, classic rock, etc. but there are a bunch of musical acts, like Swans, David Bowie, King Crimson, Led Zepplin, Nas, MF Doom, etc. whom I still haven't listened to a single album of.

Radiohead has one good album, OK Computer. Radiohead can't into writing memorable songs. Radiohead music is negative energy. The Smashing Pumpkins are the greatest 90's band. The Smashing Pumpkins write good, memorable songs. The Smashing Pumpkins music comes from a good place, it is positive energy. The Smashing Pumpkins gave away a rock album (Machina II) almost a decade before Radiohead did. The Smashing Pumpkins went electronic before Radiohead did. Billy Corgan can actually play guitar. Jimmy Chamberlin can actually play the drums.

It translates really well in a live environment with lights, etc. they opened their show with it last night which pissed me off at first but it actually worked very well.

I love you.

You should really really give some time to King Crimson.

Only way is to have a listen to it for yourself. I'm have a list of artists I have to go through and I catalog the ones I've listen to already in a spreadsheet. I listen to the album at least three times and then i can move on to the next one. I really like hip hop that sounds weird and has a shit ton of samples, probably why i don't like nas that much .

Are you accusing RH of not having drum bantz

They have albums that are ONLY percussion

Smashing Pumpkins went to fucking shit, however. Their output post early 90s is unlistenable and Billy Corgan is so visibly washed up these days that it's deeply depressing.

ITAOTS is the best Sup Forums core and is not a meme

have any recs for me

Yeah, they're never a group that I paid much attention to but now I really want to listen to In the Court of the Crimson King.

I also really want to get into punk more but I'm not sure where to start.

>I really like hip hop that sounds weird and has a shit ton of samples, probably why i don't like nas that much .
What do you like? I'm really into the same. I love hip hop that actually tries to do new things and be different.

I just remember them getting a lot of shit on here. I jokingly said that Meliora should be album of the year and I had about 10 replies in a few minutes.

I've listened to almost nothing but Autechre for the past two weeks.

I'm with you.

King Crimson is unbelievably underrated

overrated*

juaneco y su combo
Sonora dinamita
Los mirlos
Grupo niche
Héctor lovoe
>that's the starter pack try to stay away from anything post 2003 , they are very broad genres that get overlooked . Post 2003 is when reggaeton came into the mix and fucked it up for everyone . All those i listed have very different sounds

same

I made a it my mission to find alternative/abstract/ hip hop , djs are criminally over looked
Dj spooky
Kid koala
Techno animal
Astronomy class
Alias
Busdriver
Dalek
Doseone
Puppetmastaz
Moodie black
Blackie
>I have more hold up

Kanye doesn't even use auto tune in any other albums. 808s was an exception

>I really like early AFI.
>I think Sup Forums needs to listen to more country.
>Ol Dirty Bastard is my favorite member of the Wu-Tang Clan
>I can't get into anything Kanye has done after MBDTF
>It took till my current age to finally get into Radiohead

From one spic to the other, that's good taste man

OP here,
even I think that you're an irredeemable faggot.

cool man thanks
i may default to kpop but I AM interested in other genres sometimes and im completely unfamiliar with this stuff

Patrician user

Also
>I really like reggae (actual reggae and not white guys trying to be sublime reggae)

Radiohead is good, but a tad overrated

M-flo
Divine styler

Anti-pop consortium

There's way more that what is shilled on this site

I think I've listened to Frances the mute around 7 times in the last 4 days and want to listen to it again right now

Do you happen to own a pair of suspenders?

wow dude what a hot take

Yeah thanks it's well known but it's good
There's WAY more than this out there tans they all sound different
I didn't even get into the sub genres or the Cuban genres

Also try Sonora matancera and Perez prado

I never listen to Kanye from before Graduation.

I've listened to Ween everyday for months too but it was Pure Guava in my case

Fuck anx is the album
Dark time sunshine is the group
Also that one why? Album alopecia

Thanks for the recs. I'll def check this stuff out sometime.

Not gonna lie, couldn't jive with Dalek or Blackie though.

I love trap music unironically and find depth and merit in it.

Also people need to stop articulating every sound they hear. Just let it happen. Enjoy that radio pop song man.

Puppetmastaz is pretty laid back and funny at times
Probably to satanicpornocultshop if you like the really weird samples or bran flakes

ahhh so you wanna get into punk! start with the approachable shit like Fugazi, and then branch into Atomizer, Refused, Killing Joke, literally every punk band because we all reach a point where we know what the good stuff is but it all sounds the same yet the bad stuff is very easy to point out anyway

I find atonal, dissonant music to be weirdly catchy but put on some garden variety top 40 pop and I'll be the first motherfucker to clear out the room. That stuff sounds so cynical and soulless to me that it comes across as unlistenable. Honestly cannot stand that shit.

all music is good if you like it.

hard to realize it, but the only legitimate discussion on objective quality is the one had within the confines of subgenre and specific artists and even that gets riddled with opinion

ICP is an outlier (awful) and is not to be counted

I find that stuff with voices shouldn't be too clean if you know what I mean

I found out about mc mangina and that kind of takes the cake for being more icp than icp

I fucking love Pure Guava after I stay up all night, it's just so fucking stupid I lose my shit
