what are some good movies about robots?
What are some good movies about robots?
A.I.
I, Robot
Cyborg She
D.A.R.Y.L
Of that list, only I,Robot is good
There isn't any.
WALL-E is about as good as it gets.
Didn't you forget one movie?
Iron Giant?
Yes
The Autistic user
It's a movie about sex trafficking not robots... besides those would be cyborg or above...
When the inevitable biopic?
great movie, totally recommended
The hero of Dallas?
that's the one.
"R2Dindu"
ROBOTS are different then CYBORGS.
Robot and Frank, top tier AI film
Not about a robot or a.i.
Chappie was alright desu
depends if the cyborg has an AI or not.
Metropolis, Wall-E, The Matrix, Terminator 1,2 and Genisys, Prometheus, Interstellar, Moon, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey,
and the best of the best
SCREAMERS
it depends on what you consider AI or not.
>Metropolis
Not about robots
>The Matrix
Not about robots
>Prometheus
Not about robots
>Interstellar
never saw
>Moon
Not about robots
>Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey

B L A D E R U N N E R
>the fucking teddy bear at the end
I'd say any intelligence stored on an inorganic material.
The matrix is totally about robots you stupid retarded fucking IDIOT. Srsly, you should kill yourself for having wrong opinions regarding movies...Srsly, go die...Fuck.
If Terminator is about robots so is The Matrix
>Cyborg
Born human, still has at least one vital organ remaining.
>Android
Human and fleshy in appearance, artificial intelligence loaded on it.
>Robots
Clearly mechanical in appearance, self aware or autonomous.
Bet you think Fight Club is about fighting
schizophrenia with anarchism sub text.
And fighting features prominently
matrix is clearly about robot taking over the world and what they'll do to us.
Oh I'm sorry, are you one of those liberal art faggots who keeps ranting about how the matrix talk about socrates and how deep it is?
It's a kung fu movie with bdsm.
Androids don't need to be fleshy, they just need to be humanoid.
It's just a short tech demo, but this left me wanting more
I would debate then that they are self aware robots.
Android would try to emulate human form as much as possible. Realistically, I mean.
ah shit, I forgot my youtube link:
youtube.com
similarly, webm related
Autómata with Antonio Banderas
No, that's simply not true.
R2D2 is for example a Robot.
C3PO is an Android.
The only distinction is that a robot is non humanoid in shape and an android is humanoid.
a robot is a tool controlled by someone else
an android is an independent human-like machine
The human, flesh like appearance is what distinct android from robots.
Mr. Robot
Cyborg

It's a shame Chappie was so bad, Blomkamp has delivered some of the cooler robots of recent sci-fi. D9 was so good, but Elysium and Chappie just got worse and worse.
OPs pic is clearly a robot and not a cyborg
>Especially
Not exclusively.
But mostly, as in, it's the norm.
No, see that word in green?
That's the qualifying statement.
Mostly is your interpretation.
ex machina
Especially emphasis the importance of flesh like appearance. So it's mostly fleshy robots who are considered android.
Arent you a bit old to post here George?
>Metropolis
>Not about robots
Tezuka/Otomo's one is.
Eve no Jikan (Time of Eve) is another good one.
Ooooh, I get the fetish now.
Christ I'm so dense but I'm glad I didn't realized back then, I would've been constantly distracted.
>>Metropolis
>Not about robots

Body Doubles just a good movie
>>SCREAMERS
>never saw
Same thing but more like The Thing
Watch more movies, you havn't seen some of the best sci-fi movies brah. Your taste are not about robots...
Wrist Watches have AI then. It's not easy to define AI, but it has more to do with complex decision making and logic.
THE FUCKING TEDDY BEAR AT THE END
LOL
>can I cum with you?
Films with robots in aren't necessarily about them
Batman v Superman. Acting is robotic as hell.
Terminator is more about robots because there is machines doing labour, but the squids are the robots in the matrix, not the ai, but since the ai is both.... you know...
/thread
You don't know maybe that's the body of Stephen Hawkings. It's exterior looks robotic...
There really is no movie about robots... These are the examples. Prometheus is about as close as it gets since David is the counter-point to the Xenomorphs.
Except MAybe Screamers, but even then... David was probably the best example. Fassbender most Based performance IMHO.
Westworld.
pacific rim
That is a very old definition. Today we call them biodroids if they are Bladerunner style artificial organic beings. Android(Gynoid for female) if they are mechanical.
arene
Autómata
Robots are autonomous machines. Therefore, requiring human pilots, Yeagers are not robots, but mecha.
Bicentennial Man
MECHAS
Not robots
Cyborgs wouldn't have AI, by definition a Cyborg is an augmented human and would therefore have a human mind controlling it.
Without the human, it's just a robot.
Watched Screamers on a stream recently. It was very lack luster. Here's the best part and it was fucking freaky as shit.
Drive
Was this the one with the cafe where droids turned off their hologram thing and you weren't allowed to ask patrons if they were human or robot?
...
>no one mentions GitS
Whad the fugg :D:D
Eden of the East
Yeah
Yeah
The robot uprising has already started, yet nobody seems to have noticed.
>Eden of the East
That's a different show, you're confusing their titles
filename
Oh okay, so you're attempting to make some kind of joke and failing at it.
This is now a cute thread
Hardware
Silent Running
Westworld
The Iron Giant
Ghost In The Shell
Wall-E
I slightly agree with this.
>>Cyborg
A human with augmented tech parts, who's still using his brain. (Robocop)
>>Android
A Cyborg with his brain replaced by an AI. Still maintains his biological parts. (Ex Machina girl)
>>Robot
An Android without biological parts (R2D2)
You sound fat and unhappy
Here's the short story this film was based upon:
gutenberg.org
Yup, another Philip K Dick story. But at least this one has a good ending.
They're Cyborgs
Bicentennial Man
Jokes are meant to have a logic to them user, or at least turn a logic on its head.
If you had purposefully confused Time of Eve with two other anime featuring robots, or two other anime with similar sounding names, that would have been a joke with a structure to it. I can give you Eden of the East for that, especially since it came out around the same time, and did feature a little robot in one or two episodes if I remember correctly
But Durarara doesn't tie into that at all, it's just another, random anime and it shoots down whatever joke you were trying to make. As it is, your failed joke was purely for your own amusement, which, when communicating with others, serves no real purpose. If you can't communicate its logic to either a person who doesn't know the animes in question, or like me, someone who does know the animes you named and is still confused by it, then your joke was a failure.
>You sound fat and unhappy
I am thin and unhappy.
The whole story revolves around the creation of an artificial life.
...
I haven't seen the movie in a long time. I thought the main villain was a cyborg.
an artificial intelligence
a.i
It was an AI in a fully robotic body, stop being a semantic pedantic.
Youre fucking retarded. The movie isnt about sex at all.
it was an a.i. that escaped into a body
Yeah, a robot body, what fucking point are you making?
Pedant.
A pedant is pedantic.
A person isn't a pedantic.
