Should i just get ahead of justin and learn power chords or do i stick with learning things in order?, currently learning 7th chords, pretty boring, coolest thing i can play is baby one more time.

>It's certainly a phenomenon in all walks of life.
What do you mean?
>Well, at one time, you've got it, and then you lose it, and it's gone forever. All walks of life: George Best, for example. Had it, lost it. Or David Bowie, or Lou Reed...
Some of his solo stuff's not bad.
>No, it's not bad, but it's not great either. And in your heart you kind of know that although it sounds all right, it's actually just shite.
So who else?
>Charlie Nicholas, David Niven, Malcolm McLaren, Elvis Presley...
OK, OK, so what's the point you're trying to make?
>All I'm trying to do is help you understand that The Name of The Rose is merely a blip on an otherwise uninterrupted downward trajectory.
What about The Untouchables?
>I don't rate that at all.
Despite the Academy Award?
>That means fuck all. Its a sympathy vote.
Right. So we all get old and then we can't hack it anymore. Is that it?
>Yeah.
That's your theory?
>Yeah. Beautifully fucking illustrated

>learning 7th chords before power chords
That's some weird shit. Yeah, learn power chords now

>want to play song
>would have to buy pedal just for this song
>can't justify spending 150 bucks on a pedal for one fucking song or two
Anyone else know this feel? I don't really need a delay/echo except for Surrounded by DT and maybe PG's Echo Song.

You can get cheap delays for around 30-40 bucks that'll do the job fine

But I don't want more pedals and I want to save up for a car REEE

...

no

you have to

YOU ARE NOT MY DAD

Not dad confirmed

Guys, didn't you read the OP? This is the High Quality Edition. Please only make high quality posts from here on out.

you can't make us

>tele
Nice

This is now a tele thread

>buzzysound

Have another since you liked it so much

>fartyquacks
like that's any fucking better

And an "m" stamped on the fretboard.

Anyone knows what that might mean?

mistake

Any anons awake?

>tfw can't into music theory

Guys help me. Shit's looks so boring and time consuming.

I think that even if I learned all that shit I wouldn't be able to apply it

Do you know at least the basics? I can't even tell a note from another. Only see numbers in the tab and place my finger on the guitar. Fuck, is so embarrasing when people ask me to do an A# or whatever that means.

You just put it down perfectly in words
The whole note differentiation. I really need new strings and to actually pick up the damn thing

I've gotten two sets of dubs can a NEET get a [u]?

Here, have a {thee}

Many thanks. You happen to listen to the Brian Jonestown massacre?

No, but I am now. Sounds cool.

You should check this song out then Spiritualized- Angel Sigh

Really nice songs. Finishing Angel Sigh now.

Any song recommendations you may have

Anyone have any experience with a Caparison TAT Special 7 FM ?
I nearly pulling the trigger on this but theres no way for me to test one. and given its a 3.5k € Guitar I want to know if theres any problem with it.

>B-but you can s-send it back desu senpai
Yeah but it's still a 3.5k hole and they need 3 month to pay you back on average.

Not sure if you'll like it, I'm more of a metal guy.

youtube.com/watch?v=mOqIoZd-4Qk

youtube.com/watch?v=sha2fghj9Zg

That's not a Telecaster. This is a Telecaster.

Much preferred the second song m8

>3.5k € Guitar
Why? You could spend less than half that and get a guitar of equally good quality

Caparison has an excellent reputation and is probably the best Jap built guitar today. Olof Mörck introduced me to the brand, I can't imagine that they'd let a bad one out of the factory.

>bass

Bolt on or neck through?

dick through

>binding on a tele
Fuck off

Sup Forums, I'm one hour away from buying a nylon, classical guitar. I'm freaking out. I love the sound, I want to do some composition + singing with it, but it's still 400$ I'm not sure I'm gonna use that much. Should I just spent 600$ in a decent steel stringed guitar? Would you recommend a classical for a folk-ish type of music, or do you think a electro-acoustic will do the job just fine?

that tele looks classy and refined

go away samuel

High end Caparisons have a very similar feel to high end Jacksons if that helps.

How well does learning guitar translate to lerning bass or even piano?

yes if you dont just learn the visual shapes like a monkey

>how well
>yes
duh
lots translates to bass except for the instruments role in the music
for piano you get only the theory i think

i found it was a good way to start by memorizing the names of every note on the guitar neck

only later when i picked up piano playing was i able to apply some of the more non-guitar based stuff to guitar playing

good movie. Keen to see 2

What's a good shortscale guitar?

Shortscales are comfy to play

How to improve /gg/uys

My pizzicato can't go past this sloppy level, it's slow and causes me to bug the timings. Had to do multiple fixes on timing in the DAW

How in the hell.

Vhat the hell

Hey guys, I need help finding a guitar
I want to upgrade from my current/first guitar, a Squier Bullet Strat.
I was looking to spend around 250-350 euros, and I have been told by the guy in my local shop not to buy another Squier (because I was looking at getting a Jazzmaster)
I play gay indie shit and punk, if that helps.
I am also a Fender fag
I wouldn't be post this here, but I just missed out on the deal of the century because I was on holiday, a Fender Marauder in great condition for 390 euros. Pic related

be not depressed

true except for jazz musicians :^)

Funny fat nerd

>i found it was a good way to start by memorizing the names of every note on the guitar neck
This.

How are you going to know how to play Bb7#9 if you don't know where Bb is?

What i have to do to get gud and get something out of being able to play

I want to get gigs as sideman, wedding bands and everything

Is a good idea to create a YT channel and post a different cover or impro every day, or regularly?

won't help at all with actual work
get to know local musicians, find music students at unis and conservatories at their open stages and whatnot
connections are everything and the only way to get a way into the scene so you can play as a sub or fill a slot in a top40 band and stuff like that
obviously you have to be fluent enough with sight reading and be a proficient enough musician overall, but without knowing the right people you won't ever get the chance to show that

most guitar shapes I draw look somewhat psychotic, haha

>get to know local musicians, find music students at unis and conservatories at their open stages and whatnot
Im afraid and anxious at that

>fluent enough with sight reading
I cant do that. To 0 extent. How to start learning

>Is a good idea to create a YT channel and post a different cover or impro every day, or regularly?

lmao

what's the cheapest non-chinese 7 string fender-style fixed guitar bridge I can get?

a teacher would be the easiest way, even if it's only for a couple of weeks so you can get some basic literature recommendations and start from there yoursefl

youtube.com/watch?v=flexjPNTePg

wow... the new hendrix...

this guitar teacher i just got wants me to learn those shapes of the major scale instead of the ones i learned from justinguitar

is there any benefit to using those shapes instead?

youtube.com/watch?v=0vQKh52dcOs

its the same thang

What are some heavy, intermediate to advanced songs I can learn/play? Only in e standard. Doesn't necessarily have to be metal either.

These shapes are handy if you're just noodling around on the first three strings. I also think it's good to know both because it will more thoroughly flesh out your fretboard knowledge and visualization.

Oh nevermind, these are a little different than what I thought they were at first glance. Whatever.

This was awesome until he busted out the electric...

Insane talent.

Whatever gets him to practice and play regularly. Some people do exactly this to motivate themselves.

that isnt working anymore for me
what do

make top 10 videos

Finally getting my area organized and setup to record.

How to do these pops on bass
at 2:20
youtu.be/3IaDcwBpegk

>ibenhad

I have 4 seven strings, 2 ibanez electrics, 1 ibanez acoustic/electric, one agile tele.

(YOU) can have a fuck off

i wonder what is behind that enjoyment of buying shitty japanese guitars

Quick tip: If you dont play your C or G chord with your pinky included you are a filthy normie and need to reevaluate your existence

Each sound a bit different and fell way different

S7420, 24 fret and trem, sounds good coil split, needs better pickups for sure.

Ax7521, made in japan, short wcale, plays really nice, sounds great with the d-sonic+air norton combo.

Ael207, acoustic electric. Having a low dropped a sounds great with most acoustic songs, good for learning new shit late at night without having neighbirs call the cops.

Agile t7, single coik 7 string. Plays pretty damn nice, thicker neck but fits my big ass hands nicely.

I dunno, just always works for me. I wont make you justify your gear, but you wont post your shit ever.

This is what actual good tone wood can sound like.

My American Special Telecaster. It is also my first guitar (if you don't count a mini acoustic I had when I was 10)

another angle

Nice first electric, sure beat mine.

This user will quit guitar.

>guitar

I was going to get a candy apple red MIM tele. Decided on the blonde American Special because it was only a little more.

However, I went over my budget so I had to borrow a Squire Sp-10 from a family member that's quite shit.

Everytime I play, I have a fuckton of fun. I also have a background in music theory (Was involved in choir from the 4th-12th grade) so I understand chord progressions, know how to read sheet music, etc. The reason I bought one of the higher end guitar is because it will be (questionably) more desired on the used market.

...

lads i finished basic chords (a/d/e/g/c/em/dm/am), should i move on to barre chords?

Just focus on learning one string at a time; and once you memorize where one note is on the string you can figure out where all the others are
