Also Mr.Robot being shut out is what causing Elliot to hallucinate that he is home with his mom. He is Mr.Robot but creates his father alter ego to self-delude himself that he is normal. Also his sister needs Elliot help because they're losing the war aganist E-corp. Elliot was the mastermind behind season 1 attack on E-corp and his sister was just the good social engineer.

the red lamp light is something found in the prison/institution Elliot is at in real life. He made himself imagine he's at his moms house/with his psychiatrist. Tons of imagery that alludes his mom's home is an actual prison (bars everywhere, elliot at a basketball court with black ppl, sticking to a schedule, his desk with toothbrush and books, Tyrell calling him on a phone like in prison, etc.)
