it does
combines comfy and creepy in a perfect manner

Most of it, yes.

It's still definitive nineties and cheesy as ever. rewatched the series before the mini revival but really I like both of those things and it made it enjoyable.

If you want there are definitive skip/watch episodes lists as some of the monster of the week episodes are admittedly not that good. Also don't believe the Vince Gilligan lie. Seasons 2 and 3 are the best ones. 4-8 have it's ups and downs and 9 is as bad as everyone says

Yes it's extremely good but expect the later seasons and main storyline to be shit.

No, it's godawful and formulaic.
If you've seen one episode, you saw them all.
I don't know who's worse, a dumb annoying redhead who only has one facial expression or Duchovny trying to be charismatic despite having no charisma whatsoever.

No, it really lacks the diversity that is incredibly vital to modern audiences.

>faggot Jew Duchovny
>LE COMPETENT FEMALE WHO DON'T NEED NO MAN
>no diversity
X-Filesfags are even more delusional than Buffyfags

...

Very uneven quality, but the episodes are some of the best television ever in my opinion.

Some episodes aren't as good as others, but yeah, its a great series and worth watching, the passage of time has not diminished that fact.

is there some sort of guide for the episodes? I want to see all the smoking man ones.

>imdb
yeah yeah whatever

imdb.com/character/ch0004871/filmoseries#tt0106179

Daily reminder that Arcadia is the best X-Files episode

thanks didn't think of doing it like that with imdb

its a comfy show

i liked it

This painting gave me a half chub.
>tfw no hairy armpits gf

Well there are lots of filler episodes or just really bad ones but when it gets good it is really good.

Scully is a cute.
My man.

the comedy and motw eps work and the alien and gov conspiracy eps don't

the only season i don't think holds up well is the first season. it has an extremely early 90s look to it, the hair, the clothes, the way it's filmed. the stories are good though and it's comfy as hell once you get into it.

season 2 is a bit better, by season 3 that cheesy early 90s stuff is mostly gone.

he shows up randomly in episodes sometimes, just for a scene or two, then disappears. he's probably in at least 65% of the episodes

I disagree.

the "main story" is mostly shit but otherwise yes

>

>that one cockroach episode
>mulder keeps calling scully and she keeps giving increasingly silly reasons for why people were dying
>mulder just keeps agreeing
>that one motel scene where the guy dies and mulder barges in with his gun drawn like he's going to shoot a cockroach

There's a drop off around season 5 but the first 4 are fantastic

the humorous x files episodes with the scully and mulder banter were always my favorite episodes

Muh nygga

youtube.com/watch?v=cV67OoVHZeA

I have to disagree and say that "Beyond the Sea" & "Unruhe" are best X-files episodes.

best episode imo desu senpai

>Also don't believe the Vince Gilligan lie
The what? Are you trying to say a lot of his episodes weren't great?

scully is perfect

One of the most comfy shows out there.

this

Dude prepare yourself for the best binge watch experience. Don't listen to the pricks who say MoTW are the worst/skippable. Those are the most comfy and great ones. The Alien mythology arc doesn't really go anywhere but it has some great episodes like Anasazi.

You can also listen to the Podcast of Kumail Najiani. He revisited the show and has covered the first seasons feralaudio.com/show/x-files-files/ he's been a great fan of the show and one of the reasons it was revived.

Best episodes: Post-modern Prometheus, Quagmire and Ice.

The best thing about the show is listening to Scully and Mulder's conversations.
>that episode where they're stuck on a rock, talking about Moby Dick and shit

the myth arc is pretty good up until season 5

after that chris carter went full retard

i refuse to believe that dont have that much fun irl together.

that's Quagmire I think.

The worst episode is s04's The Field Where I Died. When the X-files become pretentiously philosophical it sucks.

>tfw you will never have pure virgin scully wife

>The worst episode is s04's The Field Where I Died
This. It made me seriously stop watching xf for a while. Very try hard and poorly written imo.

Yeah I never really watched it as a kid. Watched Season 1 - 6 a few months ago.
It was great. I think it starts to fall apart around 5 or 6 I don't remember.

Great show with two great spnioffs, Millennium and The Lone Gunmen.

Both deserved more seasons especially the latter.

I'm currently on season 8 and god damn dude this whole "my name is mulder and i dont trust doggett because he works for THE MAN" is so boring

Would

Dogdett is based. It was really refreshing casting him. I haven't seen S09 yet though.

Doggett is a great character. Hope there isn't some dumb twist involving him.

this, this and this

>some of the monster of the week episodes are admittedly not that good

As are most of the mytharc ones.

>If you've seen one episode, you saw them all

Not sure if bait.

Yes it created it's own unique formula, but then frequently played around with it's own tropes. Go back and watch any of the Darin Morgan episodes.

He only gets one episode devoted to him, which is great. Then there's one where he takes a road trip with Scully, which is okay. Then he's either just in the background or is in mytharc episodes, and most of those are garbage.

Clyde Bruckman, no question about it.

...

>The Field Where I Died

I remember having to take a break during that one and come back to it later, but I think the worst episode has to be the one with the cats in the museum.

look at this slut showing off her pale neck

This. It was such a great casting decision because he's completely different from Mulder but he's still an interesting character with his own issues and the dudes a great actor.

Some episodes yes, others no.

There should be a definitive guide on which X-Files episodes you should watch and which you can skip, but if there is I'm not aware of it.

You should watch all of them, then go look at a guide to remember/decided which one's are worth rewatching.

Skipping episodes in a show you're watching for the first time is retarded.

That episode with that invisible fucker scared the shit out of when i was young. I'm still baffeld till today on why the cops would arrest that fucking sewer monster. The cops crossover was funny.

How about you just watch them all? So tired of people asking "lul wut episodes do i watch guise?"

Just watch every single one, even the bad ones. It's a good show worth watching in its entirety.

NO!NO!NO!NO!

best moment in the entire series right here

youtube.com/watch?v=H6wfuJRnalQ

the downhill started at around season 5 for sure, but it's still very good.

i found myself straining to watch some of the episodes of the 6th season... haven't even bothered with the 7th yet. comfiest show ever though, can't go wrong with an x-files marathon and some chicken soup.

I'm watching through it for the first time currently, I love the monster of the week episodes. The main plot episodes got old after a bit but the show in general holds up phenomenally.

>we won't see any more episodes with the Eve clones

In the middle of nowhere episodes were the best.

in general the "outdoor" episodes were above-average.

i still get creeped out by the jersey devil ep, even if it is universally panned

In the middle of trailer parks full of circus freaks or vampires episodes were the best.

>had to stop watching because I started developing feelings for Dana Scully/Gillian Anderson

shiet iktfb

For those asking for a guide.

I didn't make this, and I strongly disagree with some of the ratings, but it's a good overview. Shame it's incomplete.

That guide is utter shit, highly subjective, and doesn't even agree with the most widely accepted ratings, and if you agree you shouldn't repost it.

>Posts the wrong movie
Objectively worst list of all time

i still think this is the perfect x files-light show

I said I don't agree. I didn't post this for the ratings, but because it's a good overview of the show.

Huh, I never noticed that.

I would rather recommend a random persons rankings of each episode where they give a brief synopsis so you can remember what each episode is about.

This is the one I've been using: thrillist.com/entertainment/nation/the-x-files-episodes-all-201-episodes-ranked

I don't agree with everything, but all 4 Darin Morgan episodes are in the top 15, which pretty much makes it better than any other list I've found.

That is a great list. It's an accurate representation of my impressions of most episodes.

I'm currently watching for the first time, nearly at the end of season 7. Fantastic show.

after years and years i still keep coming back for the monster of the week-episodes

tooms,the host,patience(only good episode in season 9 imo),shapes etc.

Patience is season 8, which at the very least has Badlaa. Season 9 has Sunshine Days, which is a top tier episode. On the whole though, yeah, the last couple seasons are pretty forgettable.

>That is a great list

Yeah, if the top 10 seem weird it's because he picked what he thought was the best episode from each season.

>tfw no Aryan Scully gf

i dont recall this episode

She's reading a Neo-Nazi disinfo pamphlet. It's the one about the Golem.

Kaddish,it looked like it was from an earlier season though.

I wonder why they didnt overtly make mulder jewish.

I'm sort of torn on it. I made it to season 3, and the good episodes are great, but there's like a 2:1 ratio at best of mediocre to good episodes. Even the good ones largely stick to a formula, and the show has a tendency to be monotonously downbeat

The myth episodes are generally hype but also follow a formula (Mulder finds a clue, gets close, gets beat up, is back where he started) that isn't satisfying even before you know it doesn't go anywhere

He was intended to be but the writers liked watching fans argue about it on message boards so they dropped hints but never made it explicit

Scully on the phone episodes are the worst, second only to Scully is a damsel in distress episodes

Fuck, I was trying to remember the name of this show for years, thank you user.

Absolutely. The remasters on Netflix look like they were filmed this year.

I loved the Jersey Devil one, I have no idea why it gets so much shit.

Kek

>not wanting to see scully tied up

As a native New Jerseyite that episode cracks me the fuck up.

>We're in the woods, this is clearly the Pine Barrens and not Vancouver! He's running let's chase him, he jumped out of the Pine Barrens onto a casino rooftop in Atlantic City! This is clearly a skyscraper AC casino and not a minimart in downtown Vancouver with a fake sign on it! Ahhh look at all the casinos of Atlantic City, definitely not stock footage!

Reyes I could take or leave but I totally would have been ok with Mulder wandering off into the woods and having Doggett take over full time.

oh yes

im pretty sure scully is the reason i have a thing for red heads

thank you scully for patrician red head taste

>or Duchovny trying to be charismatic

But Mulder isn't supposed to be charismatic...

>that perfect description of Mulder's emotionless face
>that scream

Every time, man.

yes he is

he's like a charismatic wacko. scully is the stoic one
