I'm wondering if you have any favourite Japanese artists, and if you can also recommend me some.

At the minute I'm really into
>toe
>Yoko Kanno's soundtracks, especially Zankyo No Terror
>Ling Toshite Sigure
>tricot
>Uchu Conbini
Stuff like that.

Any recs?

Thanks!

Supercar is one of my all time favorites, you might like them and Spangle Call Lilli Line.

Also I don't think you can bump your own threads anymore. (like nothing happens)

Here you go OP.

It would help if you listed your preferred genres, but if you're just looking for japanese artists here are a few of my favorite:

Mouse on the Keys
My Dead Girlfriend
SAKANAMON

Kinoko Teikoku (eureka is amazing)
Tokyo Shoegazer

Awesome. Thanks, user. I know quite a few of those bands but the one's I do know are great. I'll check Supercar and Spangle Call Lili Line out!

Have you heard of Kinoko Teikoku? You'd probably like them. I've also been enjoying jizue and Mouse on the Keys.

I enjoy most genres really. I'll check the bands out I don't know in your list though.

Awesome, thanks.

Also, what are everyone's opinions on Ghost in the Shell live action film, and have you seen it?

Ohh and if you listen to Spangle Call this album is a great starting point

Never gotten as much nostalgia feels from a band.

And I haven't, I'll check them out, I really like Jizue and MOTK though.

>My Dead Girlfriend
I rarely see them mentioned compared to Kinoko Teikoku and Tokyo Shoegazer. KT and TS are alright but they can be kind of same-y and boring.

Good list. Boris' flood is one of my all time favorite albums, and the live version is even better. Supercar, Midori and Melt-Banana are pretty good too.

This satisfied my need for more Fishmans-esque music pretty nicely.

That's really cool. They remind me of a more laid-back Sweet Trip.

Seeing what's being posted I think you'll enjoy yourboyfriendsucks!

L'Arc~en~Ciel

Not sure if any of you have heard Kanno Youko's work before but her soundtrack for Zankyou no Terror is amazing. Great anime too.

This track is sublime post-rock, with the second part being a particular favourite. The drummer sounds like the dude from toe.

The Pillows

Anything similar to the Japanese rock band Itsue?

Def BOOM BOOM SATELLITES,I'm glad I found them.
I still feel down about the lead singer dying from tumor in the end after recovering so many times and he still got up and produced one last record. Rest in peace you glorious bastard.

Check out lamp if you want something comfy. I'd recommend koibito e but any of their albums are great

I always forget about 88Kasyo Junrei. I never know where to start with them, but they're well regarded on RYM.

You might like Uchu Conbini

Or their guitarist's new band Jyocho
