alternatively
>starts with one instrument
>the rest burst in simultaneously

>All the instruments suddenly stop for a short high note from the vocalist

That song starts with three instruments though

>song goes on normally with all instruments playing
>stops the song with a small guitar solo riff
>all the instruments join in at the same time while the guitar riff keeps playing

>song structure consists of an extremely long repetitive buildup to a climax that abandons that repetition
>"tribal" percussion being the main or sole focus of the music
>long, narrative spoken word elements or vocal samples. especially over droney, experimental electronic music

play from 55s

>the whole band stops for a split second and goes back to it like nothing happened

pic related does that a lot

Ghost notes on guitars (just strumming with no actual notes or anything)
When drummers hit the rim of the snare as well as the snare itself, making like that high pitched wooden sound.

They're really specific and I don't really know how to describe them. Dunno

>Song is so hype that I have to start moving my body like I have tourettes

>song ends at beginning of song

Yeah I really need to listen to that album I've heard it's good

>When drummers hit the rim of the snare as well as the snare itself, making like that high pitched wooden sound.
a rimshot?

>when the band has two drummers

>song slowly gets faster and faster until it all falls apart
>sparingly used harmonica
>combining drum machines with acoustic drums

>Song switches from 19/16 syncopated shuffle to four on the floor standard time

Yeah I guess that's what it is, but I love it when it's incorporated into the drumming more than just being a single hit. Like ,a pattern of its own.

>Gallows Pole
nice. one of my favorite Led Zeppelin tracks

i guess you like house of gold by twenty one pilots then

>starts with a pretty happy-ish, normal mood
>turns into complete darkness and melancholy halfway through

>Normally non-dance artist incorporates a slamming 4 on the floor beat

>90's style drum machine noises

> a simple, small melody is played in the background of the song, setting a perfect mood

the concert film Stop Making Sense does exactly this, albeit adding one instrument per SONG over several minutes, as opposed to adding them all up in the course of a single song.

t. watched Stop Making Sense cold in a theater for the first time ever a few weeks ago. I was impressed.

>Drum and bass track
>Drums rising
>Que the hi hats
>Fucking synths going off

That's the joy of BC-The nine

distorted bass

>Lots of pretty strings
>Analog synths, particularly Moogs or ARP Odyssey.
>Both at once for maximum effect

>Harmonium

>a few instruments start playing
>basic melody build-up (or just a short break)
>suddenly the bass starts taking the lead
>tension starts ramping up
>bass keeps going in the forefront
>proceeds to dominate the song until it comes back to normal

I love those moments. They get me pumped.
