He can be genuinely into it, but it doesn't change the fact that he's trying hard. Again, I'm a fan of Peep. I think Feelz is fucking great, Lil Kennedy is an underrated song and Hellboy is an album that should catapult him to fame rather than fantanofaggots trying to say its a shit rap album without listening and realizing it isn't rap -- but it's not hard to listen to him and tell that he's trying to pull of a certain image.
