The point of these threads is to encourage people to look for new and interesting music. We do this by listening to and ideally discussing albums we've never heard before. Many of us already listen to new music daily, these people are in it to venture "out of their comfort zone" by listening to albums they otherwise wouldn't have, or just to have a good time.

Morton Feldman - Rothko Chapel and Why Patterns?
I enjoyed the first piece, especially the dissonant vocal chords in part 3. I would definitely listen to something that explored more of that. The minimal, free time thing he had going on for most of the rest of the piece was interesting but I didn't find it super engaging. The melody of the last part was quite beautiful, and worked well in between periods of dissonance. I also think this would be amazing to hear live in the right venue. Why Patterns? wasn't much to listen to, but reading about it was interesting, particularly how Feldman would screw with performers by intentionally making his sheet music slightly inefficient to read. Overall not bad, I would listen to the first piece again, but I didn't particularly grab me.

I generally listen on spotify or youtube or buy stuff. generally streaming services compensate the artist but if the artist or label or whatever doesn't want it on youtube I guess it doesn't matter if I'm listening there or from soulseek or torrents or whatever. link looks cool, appreciate it
