Hey 4chinz, how's your math?

Hey 4chinz, how's your math?

Paul mixes nuts worth $1.30 per pound with oats worth $1.65 per pound to get 28 pounds of trail mix worth $1.50 per pound. How many pounds of nuts and how many pounds of oats did he use?

Paul used ? pounds of nuts, and ? pounds of oats.

...

Id love to pound those nuts

I always solved these by plugging in numbers over and over until it worked. Not in the mood to do that shit op.

12 pounds oats, 16 pounds nuts

I actually just found out Friday I got dropped from my online math class for not logging in for three weeks

that answer is incorrect sir, try again

How many gallons of 20% alcohol solution and 45% alcohol solution must be mixed to get 15 gallons of 30`% alcohol solution?

There needs to be gallons ? of 20% alcohol solution and ? gallons of 45% solution.

that answer is incorrect sir

that answer is incorrect sir

you've got that backwards

n = nuts
o = oatz

n(1.30) + o(1.65) = 28(1.5)

n + o = 28

n = 28 - o

solve for o and then subtract o from 28 to yield

n = 12
o = 16

these are very similar problems, did you just come from college algebra? I was in that a few semesters ago and I remember these distinctly

nope just typical off the wall random questions over here . testing your knowledge and all that.
so what are the answers

>college algebra

Absolutely disgusting. If you didn't learn calculus by 15 your society has failed you.

A mixture of 15% disinfectant solution is to be made from 13% and 17% disinfectant solution. How much of each solution should be used if 12 gallons of the 15% solution are needed?

There needs to be gallons ? of 13% solution and ? gallons of 17% solution.

I did, my college actually failed me with their bullshit placement tests. I had a 5 on the AP physics and AP calc tests in my senior year.

9 gallons of 20% and 6 gallons of 45%

And you didn't go straighten shit out with the math department immediately? If you can't advocate for yourself you will be crushed by those who do.

I tried, what, you think I willingly learned repeated math for 3 semesters? It's a community college with a transfer program to a much better university, so I'm essentially bending to their will.

same, transferred and placement test screwed me. they gave me a placement test after i already completed those particular courses.

Paul has consumed 2.5 liters beer at $5 per large beer. A single large beer is 0.5 liters.

Paul then went to the nightclub where he consumed 5 more shots. Two jagerbombs, two apple shots, and one tequila. These were paid for by by two lesbians that thought he was cute.

He then remembers sharing a cab with one of the lesbians and then waking up in some apartment.

What does paul have?

luckily im not getting fucked too hard because im poor and financial aid has me paying very little, but if I wasn't it'd be a very bad time

AIDS

chlamydia

true, im actually getting out of uni with a CS degree with only about 5k debt.

i got off pretty ez

why do i keep getting negative numbers as one of my variables

nice user. CS is a good degree too. Mech E over here.

damn thats tedious i feel bad for u guys lol
shit load of homework

definitely, but luckily i am in love with this shit

you didn't show your work.

kek i love Sup Forums

been playing fallout 2, good game

1.3x + 1.65(1-x) = 1.5
-.35x + 1.65 = 1.5
.35x = .15
x = 3/7

28x is amount of nuts, so it's 12 pounds of nuts and 16 pounds of oats.

physicist here.

mix $1.30/lb and $1.65/lb to get something $1.50/lb

there's a 20 cent difference low, and a 15 cent difference high

so the ratio of the two is 20:15 or 4:3

so 4x + 3x = 28 pounds, 7x = 28 pounds, x = 4 pounds

4x = 16 pounds of oats
3x = 12 pounds of nuts

idk, this had no physics in it, i'm just high and had to do it some dumb different way

Alcohol poisoning

12 pounds of nuts and 16 pounds of oats

because you're doing math in the bizzaro world. come back to our dimension ples.

can anyone find the divergence of v?

last one guys:

Bob has 22 coins totaling $1.60. If he only has dimes and nickels, how many of each coin does he have?

Bob has ? nickels and ? dimes.

your symbols are all backwards

nabla is the gradient not the divergence

you should try to be learning these, maann.

only dimes and nickels. only 10 cents or 5 cents.

10*x + 5*y = 160 (cents)

where does 22 come in, well it relates x and y, i.e. if there are x nickels there are 22 - x dimes.

10*x + 5*(22 - x) = 160
10x + 110 - 5x = 160
5x = 50
x = 10

there are 10 dimes, so there are 12 nickels

if you wanted to do this a super lazy way.

if the 22 coins were all dimes, you'd have $2.20.

each dime you replace with a nickel takes it down 5 cents.

so how many nickels do you need to replace to get the value down to $1.60?

clearly 60 cents worth,
which is 12*5 cents, so 12 nickels.

eh i like it this way. either way im trying myself, i actually got that problem wrong and the website i use changed it up on me. i got the last one right myself, just trying not to be a lonely hermit. let me live man.

tx

i feel you. live, man. math is Sup Forumsoring anyway. and nice 100%.

>5 beers
>5 shots
Only a child could get alcohol poisoning from that. That's not even enough for a good time before you head to the club.
