RIP Demora Sulu

In this thread we honor the memory of Ensign Demora Sulu who served valiantly aboard the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-B until her life was tragically retconned from history by Social Justice Warriors turning her father Hikaru Sulu into a homosexual for Star Trek Beyond. Ensign, we salute you!

>Even in the future straight Asian men can only get with Asian women.

>slant eyed Asian
>busty
>uniform

They have to try preserving themselves somehow before the Irish take their women.

It's less like the Abramsverse split off from the regular one due to Nero's interference than it's pretty much a completely different universe on the most fundamental level anyway. So it's not to say that Sulu's children have been erased or retconned when they simply will not exist in this universe at all.

he has a daughter in the film

Please explain how that's possible when he is gay.

>I have never heard of speculative reproductive technologies like recombinant human cloning
>I have never heard of real-world reproductive technologies like surrogacy

Clone with gender tampering.

He adopted her.

>speculative
>reproductive
>hemmirgage
>technologies
>recomitant
>reproductive
lol did your mom buy you a theasaurus for eid

She's his alternate universe self.

>how can he have children if he's gay?!

I'm sorry, I'll dumb it down for you.

>I'm so stupid I don't know that in sci-fi, you can make one clone from two daddies
>I'm such an incredibly defective fucking retard that I don't know that in the real world, a gay guy can pay a woman to carry a baby using his sperm

>Asian women have no ass
>Irishmen hate ass
IT'S LIKE POETRY, IT RHYMES.

>her father Hikaru Sulu
>Jap first name
>filipino last name
Japahino abominations are allowed to exist in the future?

If his daughter in Beyond is adopted then she's not Demora who is Sulu's biological daughter.

>The Enterprise insignia is the Star Fleet logo long before Kirk's 5 year mission

>what the fuck is a surrogate that's not a real word you made that up

You know, lots of gay guys have had biological children. Be it artificial insemination or just manual fucking, it happens frequently enough to not be surprising at all.

who?

She's a butt baby.

>who is Sulu's biological daughter.
The movie never said this and you picture paper devices are not ancient ship weaponry.

>Oh hello ensign Sulu, biological daughter of Captain Hikaru Sulu, how are you doing today?
Damn, I forgot about this part of the movie.

Used to be a lot of Japanese in the Philippians, many changed their family names after WW2, and other moved.
I think Kato from Green Hornet was a Japanese Filipino.

>in the Philippians

read your Bible, son.

the sheer amount of bravery to turn Sulu gay must have taken so much courage, especially in today's homophobic and bigoted environment!

This is a dumb thread. You're dumb. Even if it was dumb to make Sulu gay (it's not a "tribute" when Takei doesn't want it), he can still have a daughter named Demora.

Here is a real reason to get upset.

The JJverse now officially differs from the Primeverse even BEFORE Nero time traveled into it.

> With the Kelvin timeline, we are not entirely beholden to existing canon, this is an alternate reality and, as such is full of new and alternate possibilities. “BUT WAIT!” I hear you brilliant and beautiful super Trekkies cry, “Canon tells us, Hikaru Sulu was born before the Kelvin incident, so how could his fundamental humanity be altered? Well, the explanation comes down to something very Star Treky; theoretical, quantum physics and the less than simple fact that time is not linear.

> Sure, we experience time as a contiguous series of cascading events but perception and reality aren’t always the same thing. Spock’s incursion from the Prime Universe created a multidimensional reality shift. The rift in space/time created an entirely new reality in all directions, top to bottom, from the Big Bang to the end of everything. As such this reality was, is and always will be subtly different from the Prime Universe. I don’t believe for one second that Gene Roddenberry wouldn’t have loved the idea of an alternate reality (Mirror, Mirror anyone?).

> This means, and this is absolutely key, the Kelvin universe can evolve and change in ways that don’t necessarily have to follow the Prime Universe at any point in history, before or after the events of Star Trek ‘09, it can mutate and subvert, it is a playground for the new and the progressive and I know in my heart, that Gene Roddenberry would be proud of us for keeping his ideals alive. Infinite diversity in infinite combinations, this was his dream, that is our dream, it should be everybody’s.

From the same brilliant minds who think that cold fusion is cold.

Says so on her Memory Alpha page normies

>I can't think of any possible way that a man who identifies as gay could possibly have a baby
>I need you to explain it to me
How about no

isn't the logical answer that the concept of straight or gay isn't a thing anymore in the federation and that Sulu just decided to marry a man, regardless of whether he felt attracted to women or not?

But fuck Pegg for blatantly ignoring Takei's conversation with Roddenberry about gays in star trek.

>go to her page
>ctrl+f "biological"
>zero results
Why would you lie to us?

He saved her as a baby wheb her whole planet was destroyed

It is in the Apocrypha section.

WreKt

>go to her apocrypha section
>ctrl+f "biological"
>zero results
Why would you lie to us?

>Asian women have no ass
don't they?

Sure, Pegg could have avoided a lot of flak if he had said that Sulu is bisexual.

I don't know why Pegg is insisting that Sulu is gay and not bi. Doesn't make sense to me.

I'm still going with the whole separate timeline theory and the notion that Sulu is only gay in the Kelvin timeline.

George Takei has said that in TOS, Sulu was not gay.

It says he has the daughter with some woman named Susan Ling.

>implying

the old fashioned way as it doesn't specify otherwise.

>implying that gay people can't have children
You have to go back... to school.

Gay people are literally incapable of producing children. They are literally an evolutionary dead end

no they find the process too heteronormative and as such the gay gene will be bred out of existence by the 23rd century anyway.

>Obrien gets tired of life shitting on him nonstop
>travels back in time and becomes Thomas Durant of the Central Pacific Railroad
>becomes a billionaire but fucks up and ends up a broken penniless man in the end
>dies alone cold in a cabin

it wasn't nonstop, he gets a Japanese waifu and a cushy job at Starfleet Academy

If the nuTrek timeline wasn't already different, then it becomes a paradox though. They time travelled many times into the past in the original Star Trek. None of that would have happened in the new timeline as a result of Nero's ship altering everything. It basically becomes the grandfather paradox, unless you accept the new timeline was different already, and just happened to closely resemble the original timeline (the odds of that must be astronomically small, which makes it retarded)
