the ring did a number on me

...

Nice, scene in the bathroom messed with me.

shit, do I.

A Clockwork Orange

I saw it when I was 3 or 4 years old, got a mental image of that movie in my head since... It terrified me.

Only found out which movie it was more than 20 years later, while browsing around with a friend for the most terrifying/shocking movies out there. Why would anyone even put this on TV 20 years ago for a kid to see?

Watched so many horror flicks here.

I loved horror movies as a kid, they were my dream-world reality. Sometimes I was an onlooker, sometimes I was the monster. What movie caused me to loose sleep? The ancient Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, my dad had it and said it was a wonderful kids' movie. The insanity of that movie stirred me for years.

Child's Play. One of my favourites now.

never really had a movie terrify me for years, but i did remember seeing the freddy krueger part where the kid was in a home and it burned him alive. that shit is terrifying to think about have happen to you.

fuck that movie.
in its ass.
with a barbed wire dildo.

Parents didn't care back the. If you watched you better not go crying about nightmares
>Friday 13th

>be me
>6 or 7 years old
>go to family video to rent Harvest Moon 64 for 100th time
>get home, open box
>see "Body Harvest"
>dafuq.jpeg
>Proceed to be scared shitless by pic related
>mom flips shit about M rated game mixup
>DoesntReallyGiveAShit
>Family video so sorry they let me keep the game for free
>makes total sense
>still have the copy to this day. I wish harvest moon 64 wasnt so expensive tho

Lucille Jr.

When i was in grade 5 my mom let me pick out a movie for my birthday party. I chose SLEEPAWAY CAMP 3 on VHS. Lol, realistic murders and fucking. My friends were all pretty shocked. Didnt fuck with my sleep, but the creativeness of the killings, as opposed to your Freddys and Jasons, i still remember like 20 yrs later. youtube.com/watch?v=IMq9rCTq2J4

A lot of old N64 games are getting expensive sadly. But hey! A criminally underrated Harvest Moon is Magical Melody! The art style can be a bit of a turn off at first, but the game is so incredibly addictive. Just listening to the Fall theme puts incredible nostalgia in my heart.

Faces of Death.

We rented three copies from a locally owned video store. The clerk looked at us three tween kids of acne and said "you know this is pretty hardcore stuff" right?" We said we did and proceeded to watch people commit suicide and money brains being eaten. It fucked with me pretty bad really. Even if some of it is fake or staged. Anyway, I'd just discovered totse at the time and save for rotten and vomit lunch and later on goregasm and ogrish was pretty unacquainted with gore or torture porn.

>monkey

The Exorcist.

The headspinning etc was fucked up but what really got me as a kid was how before she became fully possessed her bed would shake. I had an old bed and it would shake every time I rolled over so that would scare the shit out of me.

Also that scene where she tells the astronaut he's going to die then pisses herself. There's something creepy about that part that still gives me chills even now when I think about it.

A movie I watched as a kid that ruined my sleep has to be Fire in the Sky
youtu.be/wsjhdoWKtXM
I still have trouble with eyedrops

"The Exorcist" fucked me up as a kid

Stumbled onto it in the middle of the night when I was 8 years old. Had to sleep with light on for a long time after that.

>Watching a demon-child screech "Your mother sucks cocks in hell!" to a priest has that effect on little Catholic boys.

the old man let me watch Aliens when it first came out on VHS cos he loved it so much. was probably 7, nightmares for years, kicked off a horror and Giger fascination that defined me.

Because it's one of Kubrick's masterpieces

Oh fuck yes ! I was a teen when i seen it, but yea even as an adult those scenes in the alien operating room get me uncomfortable. The black gooey grease they smear into his mouth too.... You know thats based off of a "true" incident, or so its said, right?

Return to Oz

Yes. The Alien films and The Exorcist scared me shitless.

Final Destination 1

I view it now as ridiculous, seeing as how the death is kinda funny, but back then I was like 5 or younger and at a friend's house when this was on TV. It was the train scene in Final Destination. I haven't seen a grahic death like that before so I was shooken up really well. I had ightmares for months and I went super catholic trying to pray the nightmares away.

It was the whole scene, but specifically the decapitation at 3:15

youtube.com/watch?v=inT_CDCCi5Y

the one where a kid grows an eyeball on his hand and has to stab it

final D is one of those films that really makes you paranoid about doing everyday life things

Saw "The Bye Bye Man" when I was 12. still have nightmares.

Taste the Blood of Dracula. 1960s.

That movie was kind of fucked up for kids to be watching. I saw it at the movies when I was only a kid (yes, getting old). My mom took me because she thought it would be like the original.

I remember my cousin was crying under her seat. I wasn't doing much better but tried to look cool.

The Gate (1987). Looks silly to me now, but when I was 5, the dead dog+"monsters under the bed" combo was a little much.

youtu.be/QI62eQJuxD4

And then I'd have nightmares with Freddy Krueger in them and I'd actually think I was gonna die kek

Return to Oz is rated G. What exactly is scary about it?

yeah man fucking freddy, got me a few times

Actually Scary Movie 3, because of "The Ring"-girl... Yea i was a pussy but fuck, she looked terrifying

>Lion King

Mufasa scared the shit out of me.

arachnophobia, checked my toilet for spiders for weeks

I was 8 when this aired. Mom said it was just a movie. Fucked me up. Got it on dvd now, one of my favorites.

O_o

great times. My family used to rent from this small video store operated by asians which was way cheaper than Blockbuster or Hollywood video. Rent 2 movies and the 3rd one was free. And the beauty of it was that I could use my parent's card and rent R rated movies on my own. I was still in middle school.

then later on in High School. I would go with my edgy buddies and we would rent a series called "faces of death". Pretty much Rekt thread videos long before Sup Forums.

LOL, and once my dad paid a late fees on some porn of mine. Awkward as fuck at the time, but he didn't make it a huge deal.

Clueless 1995 was fucking scary as shir

"Event Horizon"

Scared the shit out of me as a kid... Love it as an adult

I member

I saw this movie in 5th grade. It was a fun Friday. I don't think they would play a movie like this to kids today.

Canima was such a quaint town

Heres a classic for those who like the older stuff. PUPPET MASTER youtube.com/watch?v=ZjAmBv3EOpM

>we would rent a series called "faces of death".

I member! Footage of some guy falling into the water and getting eaten by an alligator, rtc.

Good times

Same. I woke up shouting one of my freinds names from school in the middle of the night after watching friday 13th when i was younger. One of the few actual nightmares i have had.

My older cousin showed me broken when i was real young. The nin movie

Me too.

motherfuck I miss the 90's

Fuck yeah! Evil animated killer puppets. Dont get no better than that.

>The one with scalpels for hands was the shit

What Lies Beneath.

I'm still scared of mirrors.

vimeo.com/158572284

Its only 20 minutes

This is the one that scared me as a kid, still have a soft spot for it today. I always watch the marathons around Halloween.

underageb&

Oh fuck yeah I was terrified of drains after this movie. Didn't want to shower or anything.

renting midget porn back then sucker

Yea bruh. I posted the Tunneler because he was my favorite. Him and the Flamethrower guy. youtube.com/watch?v=9xQ6fg0D5b4

Damn

the feels of this picture.
I had a movie rental place nearby called the Movie Shoppe, smelled like buttered popcorn and had posters everywhere. Now it's a distant memory from another world.

Faces of death . Especially the monkey brain scene fucked me up good .

if you know how to stop the game freezing while emulating body harvest when indoors i'll suck your dick.

>Body havest is underated.

Aw fuck this thread. All it does is remind me of my dad taking me to the video rental place and disappearing into the over-18 section for an hour while I stood there waiting for him to come back out so we could go home empty handed for the hundredth time.

this was real life shit, right? I couldn't bring myself to watch these, I still don't like gore and real shit like that.
what happened with the monkey brains?

Same. Every time I walked passed a dark room, I ALWAYS imagined Samaras face in the dark. Pic related

Sometimes I think I'm the only one who viewed things this way. Horror movies were hilarious to me as a kid. The real terror came from the odd family movies I came across in the 90's like Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Good Lord. Also, shows like Roseanne terrified me.

Solaris is good, similar movie.

WRONG it was Sunshine, but i left the typo there because i wanna watch it later google said it okay.

People ordered it in a restaurant "white people" and only the head of the monkey popped out the top of the table, then bashed to death and open up the skull to eat brains . Ffs people are fucked

Honestly never watched horror movies as a kid because I was such a fucking autist. I thought I was top shit though because I watched Supernatural.

Hahahahahaha you poor soul. At least my dad hired me 1 snes game, maybe 2 a week. Took me a while to choose the game and took him a while to browse.

what the fuck man

damn straight. Saw it when I was like 12-13. Was scared for ever. Watched it again with 18 or sth and was more scared of my memories than the actual movie...

"The Ring"

This scene

An alien abduction movie I watched as a kid, I think it might have been Communion.

Also Alien!

And I remember Little Monsters being very freaky for a kids movie.

"Oh yes... they float Georgey. They float. And when you're down here with me, YOU FLOAT TOO!"

...

Fire in the sky?

Strange stuff

>yes, I remember the alligator clip
they also had one where they showed people sitting at restaurant table eating the brains from a living chimp. The poor bastard was strapped from underneath, and only his head protruded from the table with the top of the scalp removed.

Holy shit, this

Na wasn't that but good movie, alien abduction movies still freak me out to this day but I can watch any other type of horror np.

I remember the movie was set in a house in the suburbs with I think a single mum.

I read the Communion book. Was alone at home, got spooked because alien abductions scare the shit out of me, stopped reading it. Yes, Fire In The Sky gets me paranoid too.

I feel you bud. Watched faces of death when i was about 12 Damn, that shit was messed up. First time i saw a person actally die..

>Faces of Death

they were a mixture of real and staged footage, but something you didn't know which was which.

I remember being afraid to drive after watching that shit.

Dawn of the dead

I always enjoyed seeing this posters at my local video store. The kept them forever.

I agree....I member going to the video store on fridays and getting to pick out a game or two movies to watch. They had a door beside the counter labled 18+ it was a whole room of porno. I never went in there.

.

Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Candyma a......

One time the owner's daughter was trying to make friendly conversation about a new release I was getting, but underneath that I had two porn vids. Her face and mood changed in a heart beat. LOL's. fuck, that would never happen today.

and I don't even know why I felt bad about it. It was her parent's porn. I was simply renting it.

Wouldn't step on dirt for years

>Look who's talking
youtube.com/watch?v=F7o8KuJKizs

>not Tremors 4: The Legend Begins

It's like the same but in the Wild West

the fly . years of nightmares to follow

dawn of the dead.. still have nightmares about zombies to this day.

Was 8. Scared the shit out of me. Parents claim I didn't sleep properly for 4 days.

Those 80s horror movies are the best

The Vincent Price one is dumb as fuck

I watched An American Werewolf in London too young.

I was scared to go to the bathroom on my own for a long time after. And I couldn't sleep with any part of me sticking out from under the covers.

I held the movie up as so scary, that I didn't watch it again till my late teens.
