Eurovision crap with weird sounds (not even that weird overall)

Urchin is the only good track, and Whip is ok

another sellout album

disappointment of the year so far

That's a good description of this album

shit album

enjoy ur (You) lad.

What did he mean by this?

he meant that it was a good bait

>opinions different from mine are baits
Can you get more autistic?

It's pretty much the perfect description of this album, how is this a bait?

Urchin is the best track but the whole album is good. This was my first time listening to Arca so I don't have the rest of his work to compare it to, maybe that's why I'm liking this album so much.

Saunter best track

>arca

i also thought it sounds like eurovision, it's not only about his language

any eurovision recs that sound like this?

youtube.com/watch?v=OV3xp5ZXSYA

At this point it's not really a matter of opinion anymore
It's a matter of who's talking complete shit, and who's not

its actually quite good, you fucking clowns

arca was always the best at sound design and synthesis out of the new avant garde pop memesters. now with this album, he's proven that he can finally write real songs (even if he's only imitating bjork)

>arca
>avant garde

New videoclip 'Desafío' (one of the best tracks of his album imho)
youtu.be/PwXOgzmTbVU

is he going to release each songs as a single wtf

>avant garde pop

I swear everyone rating this as a good album doesn't speak Spanish
The one song is talking about bursting his ass
At times the sound design is alright

>The one song is talking about bursting his ass
it's a metaphor about Chavez state police duh

>I swear everyone rating this as a good album doesn't speak Spanish
Would you consider actually listening to the > MUSIC < you ultimate fucktard ?
You know what music means right ?

Maybe it went over my head, i guess I took it too literal when it's talking about being penetrated. I really don't see the appeal of the album
>lyrics mean nothing to me
Hmm...

Compared to the singles from this new album his other stuff is much more abrasive and strange, although I've only listened to Mutant and some of his singles before.

Yeah

Music is the combination of vocals and instrumentals

And an important aspect of vocals is the lyricism.

im glad i don't speak spanish. i feel emotion from him. tho the last songs after desafio the quality drops hard.

mutant imo is still his best work

Surely doesn't means a lot compared to the actual music in an experimental pop album indeed my guy

my point remains
you proved yourself wrong in your own post , how can his music be avant garde if he's just imitating bjork? at this point only bjork's pop really was cutting edge at the day of its release at its time

there's nothing cutting edge about arca's music, it's not ahead of its time, it's pretty obviously just in its time, this kind of weird pop was a thing for the whole decade now, you don't really need to look far, the most obvious examples became Sup Forumscore

post the lyrics, I have read some, they sound alright & ambiguous

how is this not avant garde buddy
youtube.com/watch?v=mJEULQOheKE

>after desafio the quality drops hard.
Miel might be my favourite from the album

>your own post
wasn't my post jackass

its an okay song maybe it'll grow on me. but its just him singing with bare minimum production

actually the worst track is Whip; I can't stand the obnoxious whip sounds

[Verse 1]
Touch me for the first time
Kill me again and again
Love me and tie me and kill me
Find me and penétrame and devote me

[Pre-Chorus]
I feel you inside
Look that I burst inside

[Chorus]
Ready or not
There is an abyss within me
Ready or not
There is an abyss within me
Ready or not
There is an abyss within me
Ready or not
There is an abyss within me
There is an abyss within me

[Verse 2]
I will pour out all my love
I will only be here
And give me your heat
I will pour out all my love
I will only be here
Give me your heat

[Refrain]
Love me and tie me and kill me
Find me and penetrate and devote me

[Pre-Chorus]
I feel you inside
Look that I burst inside

[Chorus]
Ready or not
There is an abyss within me
Ready or not
There is an abyss within me
Ready or not
There is an abyss within me
Ready or not
There is an abyss within me

I guess so, but that describes a lot of the album. I just really like the synth tone on that track in particular.

mfwn arca wrapped in leather & corset to pour my love into

1) we weren't talking about his previous albums
2) it's not avant-garde, this kind of music existed more than a decade before arca
youtube.com/watch?v=HV-C2jr3i9g

i didn't even make that second post

and while it might not be to your taste arca is experimenting with new things in sound design on this album, it is just grounded in the song structure of another artist. and even if bjork was doing music like this two decades ago, its fucking irrelevant as to whether or not its avant garde, because we definitely aren't all listening to bjork are we. the uncomfortably blatant and pornographic displays of faggotry in the lyrics and videos alone make this album unusual

>avant-garde
>autechre
this meme went too far

I don't see how being an avant pop memester is any accomplishment tho

i know autechre like the back of my hand. both of those tracks sound NOTHING alike.

>talking about avantgarde
>with a 6year olds level of comprehension

i didn't even say that autechre are avant-garde, i just pointed out that even they were making this kind of music long before arca

nobody fucking said they sound similar you dummy, obviously arca made it bit different to not become known as a copycat, however those has the same idea of accessible noise music

>obviously arca made it bit different to not become known as a copycat,
again are you fucking tone deaf? they have nothing in fucking common.

>experimenting with new things in sound design on this album
unconventional to a degree =/= avant-garde, since experimental music and avant-garde music is also not the same

>even if bjork was doing music like this two decades ago, its fucking irrelevant as to whether or not its avant garde
it's relevant since arca's new album is just slightly updated bjork's music, and simultaneously (wow this is avant!) it's his the most conventional album to the point where he sounds like an upgraded eurovision singer who's got some quirky production.
it's basically art angels all over again, it's really disappointing

>displays of faggotry in the lyrics and videos alone make this album unusual
it's just the lyrics about love and sex, what's there unusual? his sexual orientaion doesnt affect his music, only his image (which i see you fell to)

again can't you read well? nobody fucking said they sound similar you dummy, obviously arca made it bit different to not become known as a copycat, however those songs have the same idea of accessible noise music

>, however those songs have the same idea of accessible noise music
go on

has someone Saunter (Reprise) the Bonustrack for Japan ?

this AOTY for me, what else would I like?

Cadeu - De (similar to Xen)
serpentwithfeet - blisters (as gay as arca)
fatima al qadiri - brute (no vocals, but it's quite ominous & bleak)

man don't ever rec anybody brute that shit was trash
check out mica levi's soundtrack for "under the skin"

ghetto gothic mixes on soundcloud
and totalfreedom
elysia crampton also
rabit
yves tumor

>that shit was trash
Au contraire!
both have controversial artworks
both albums use Bass/wonky/glitchy instrumentals to portrait the current world from a minority POV
both have short tracks that conveys emotions through minimal compositions
etc.

>he's proven that he can finally write real songs

I'm sorry but the whole album is just him singing nonsensical melodies and bashing random synth keys.

thanks.

>check out mica levi's soundtrack for "under the skin"
Hated the movie, but the soundtrack is great and this Arca album did remind me of it, I should download it.

thank you too.

>literally just had two of his songs playing at the same time accidentally.
>one on youtube and one from media player.
>it took me 3 minutes to even realise.

how is this not trash?

yeah thats nice and all but fatima can't make decent music worth a crap
she peaked with hip hop spa

if you wanna go that route why not mention babyfather - bbf which arca co-produced?

>babyfather - bbf
this was pure shit tho :^)

>Just then again, listening to the track Reverie
>gameplay footage of some shooter game plays in web browser
>Just random shooting and explosion sounds
>don't notice it isn't part of the song for a solid 3 minutes

As a guy who thoroughly liked Mutant should I just not listen to this?
>Arca Vocals
Sounds icky

its good if you like pop

i loved it desu

>the same idea of accessible noise music

that's a very vague stretch of a comparison and concept

It's a lot less abrasive and agressive and has mediocre spanish vocals as the main selling point so idk if its worth sitting through

Mutant goat

its good if you like eurovision

this sounds nothing like eurovision you fucking retard, im surprised no one's said this yet

>im surprised no one's said this yet
well maybe because it actually sounds like eurovision with some quirky sound effects

I wouldn't call it a sellout album, he's always been a hack

where

i've listened to eurovision quite a bit and i cannot draw the long ass line to arca's music and then slap ((((with quirky effects)))) on to it to make more sense

being a hack doesn't mean you can't become one of those sellouts

this s/t is the definition of a sellout album

what is avant garde about this? it sounds bad on purpose? it's "weird" for the sake of weirdness?

its not even eurovision
its more aligned with this youtube.com/watch?v=cAbmfVzPHFg but Sup Forums is homophobic so they would say anything to discredit him
how is he an hack again?
stop talking out of your ass

What you linked makes way more fucking sense, and it's still really fucking good

mutant is great

how is using iris 2 "weird for the sake of weirdness"
youtube.com/watch?v=x31jgoCzbu4&t=136s
hes taken an experimental, unorthodox approach with this synth which by definition is "avantgarde"

>i've listened to eurovision quite a bit
sure you fucking did

>comparing a gay artist to eurovision means you're homophobic
this is retarded
nobody except OP said that eurovision is bad, plus is has lots of LGBTQIA artists which could inspire arca

this is wrong so why link the post again?

>doesn't sing in English
>lol Eurovision trash
you all need to go back fuckers

experimental != avantgarde

>plus is has lots of LGBTQIA artists which could inspire arca
you have not posted a single artist from eurovision that comes close to what arca did on S/T.

Some of his vocals sound like something that could be on Eurovision, especially on tracks like Reverie and Desafío, and he's vocals overall are not as good as in this user's link , and that was a weird assumption on Eurovision acappella parts like this link are impossible, pretty sure some artists could use it because it sounds and looks very emotional, and even the most normalfag audience like emotions

>you have not posted a single artist from eurovision that has a quirky sound effects like arca has on S/T.
I guess that was the point.

yes it is. but i know its hard for you to admit an gay person could be avant-garde. pls sort yourself out

I'm gay

"sure" you are :)
now why don't you post some "avant-garde" examples

examples of what

>if you dont know more about music terms than me to say that an experimental music artist who's also gay doesn't make avant-garde music then you're homophobic

another great bait

avant-garde music

>Some of his vocals sound like something that could be on Eurovision
HOW
he's not even from Europe..
at least compare him to Latin American singers, it would make more sense, but I'm pretty sure you're quite ignorant about any non-american culture.

if you know*

lets see an example of avant-garde music by your definition

youtu.be/yLa8Br569gA?t=8s

youtube.com/watch?v=sSOtIHUJbjk

youtube.com/watch?v=_rXtuuUpBe0

>they say the title of the movie
eww

oooh it has granular synthesis this is soo much like autechr-zzzzZZzzZzzz

>you're quite ignorant about any non-american culture
i'm from europe and i've been listening to non-american pop songs for years
arca is a decent producer and it's obvious that he doesnt take the influence from the producers who work with eurovision popstars
however he's an average singer and also a gay person who could be inspired by image of those cool gay postars from europe then starting to copying some of their vocal tricks
i'm not trying to say that s/t or eurovision are bad or that arca wasnt inpired by latin singers, i just cant rid of a feeling that this album contains some eurovision inluence, and i think there's a lot of it

He was close to un-hacking himself but he sold out.
This is what major labels, greed and vanity do to people.
