They should start by actually writting their fucking band's name on their album's cover.
Like who the fuck is that ?

wordless covers are the most aesthetic

Because meshuggah does everything better.

this album sounds nothing like meshuggah

The singer on this album sounds like a member of the Backstreet Boys trying to be Cedric Bixler-Zavala

it's pretty good
not my genre but defo needs more attention.
Nocturne may be my favourite song by them

Such a great album, too bad the vocalist left.

t. nu-male

Polaris is their worst album.

mediocre pop """prog""" simulacrum for literal brainlets

I would argue that it's harder getting into Tesseract since most prog has a lot going on in it.

Are you implying tesseract makes minimalist music?
lmao

don't you ever get self-conscious and worry about being a walking meme dispenser?

i think i'd be a little embarrassed if i was this unoriginal

>woah there dude, you don't like this SUPER GENERIC SHITTY ATTEMPT AT PROG?
>you MUST be a [insert shitty buzzwords]
really made me think

Not minimalist, more like "more to be desired".

wow, zero self-awareness either given that there were no buzzwords in my post, yet everything i responded to was comprised almost exclusivley of buzzwords.

for future reference so you don't come across as a moron, the following are buzzwords or memes:

>t.
>nu-male
>excessive quotation marks
>the word 'literal' when used to mean figurative
>brainlet

notice how there are none of these in my post. you also didn't respond to this critique of your post and instead took it as an attack on your taste, which is interesting. i'm hoping you're just pretty young rather than an actually stupid, nasty individual. don't worry, there's still time to grow as a person. have a nice day and good luck in your future endeavours

I refuse to believe someone over 18 wrote this

these

p4k and the melon completely ignore them, so most of this board will never hear them

Because there are thousands of bands riding on this tech-djent shit sound and Tesseract doesn't really do much to separate themselves from it, they just have slightly more effective marketing.

Says the dumb buzzword spouting shitter

90% of djent is meshuggah ripoffs, Tesseract actually does something different with it's palm muted notes.

>and Tesseract doesn't really do much to separate themselves from it

i've only heard op album so maybe they had a more generic sound on other releases, but please post examples of bands that sound like tesseract.

>palm mutes
>different

i can't stand this subgenre, but you can easily throw tesseract with any other band ripping meshuggah riffs with clean singing into the same bin

The contortionist actually ripped off tesseract, they used to be deathcore

Also
>Intronaut
>djent
top kek m8

>djent
>actually giving a shit about this

you better go downstairs lad mom finished heating up those spaghettios for you

Hahaha ebin comeback m8 you totally roasted me woow

And how are all death metal bands different from each other? Or thrash metal?

the only one of these that sounded remotely like altered state was language, all the others have harsh vocals and are way too focussed on the chugs

I like prog and metal but modern 'prog' metal is 99% boredom
These guys couldn't write any music that actually sticks if they tried
Also I'm biased because I hate Meshuggah anyway

>And how are all death metal bands different from each other? Or thrash metal?

Have you listened to Leprous?

Not an argument

I own that cd

Flushed it 5 minutes in... it's not that great.

Are you being serious?

>t.
why?

This a million times.

I don't give a shit about death metal or thrash metal either honestly. As far as"extreme metal" goes I'm more into early mathcore, post-metal, and a handful of grind/crust. As a huge prog rock fan I'd love to find a prog metal band with more of an edge and nastiness to them, but all the prog metal I've heard is pretty wanky, forgettable, and the production is always super over the top sterile and processed, I can't get into it.
