What's the deal with this record though?
It's not even that good for a harsh noise album.
Idk why it's so popular. It's not particularly emotional or complex.
It's kinda middle of the road noise.

It got reviewed by p4k, plus it has super memorable artwork. Shit just happens.

Personally I like it, not crazy about it tho.

was that adult swim noise thing good
i really haven't listened to any noise in a long while

no wait i did listen to pete namlook's music for babies but it's not harsh at all

Been loving Crumer's latest album more and more. Honestly think it's better than Ottoman Black

Pretty bland honestly

Masonna is probably may favorite japnoise artist along with Incapacitants. His harsh stuff is what I imagined and hoped Power Electronics would sound like

What are some bizarre collage noise bands to indulge in? I like TLASILA and Broken Penis Orchestra
youtube.com/watch?v=rQ83DjlZxf4

>memorable artwork
it's just an optical illusion.
I personally think venereology has much scarier cover art.

Sounds lovely.
Don't know if this is what you are looking for but maybe Smegma?
youtube.com/watch?v=egt-Pzhs8rw

Had about 50 orgasms when I saw this thread, I made 2 HNW threads that got no traffic.

ANYWAY, The Incapacitants, The Gerogerigegege, Vasectomy Party, Hanatarash, Feral Society and Merzbow are my absolute favorite artists of the genre. I fuckn' adore noise, but I don't know why. It's weird.

>HNW
my nigga.
I'm sure you've heard this one. Pure destruction.
youtube.com/watch?v=LLb-jJF0nlg

I *THINK* I've seen some Mo*Te tapes on eBay when looking for Harsh Noise tapes and records....lemme check this out.

>Just an optical illusion
Well yeah but that's what makes it memorable, I mean just look at how many people remember Meriwether Post Pavilion just because of "it moves." Do agree though that Venereology is creepier and I personally think it's much better.

I like Merzbows' animal covers better :(
>Peace For Animals
>Dolphin Sonar
>AKA His best work

Really dig this cover too.
Underrated album in my opinion.
Very manic yet still intellectually satisfying.

So do you all think you're smart for listening to a fucking banshee? You're guaranteeing tinnitus by age 35, and this shit has no substance beyond what other weird ear-rape noises can we make.

Familiar with them, but thanks

>guanteeing tinnitus
already have it mate.
Also, ALL music causes tinnitus if you listen to it for too long.
Got nothing to do with the genre.

>Mo•Te
my nigga
Any other recs? Favorite non-wall is hybrid noise bloom, hanatarash 1, hijokaidan tapes, Tokyo anal dynamite, while you were out, and popfailure

>Fucking banshee
jinkies scoob, we get it, Harsh Noise isn't for everyone. Also my father has light tinnitus. Merzbow and The Gerogerigegege are actually making him drown out his tinnitus now, ironically enough.

Any music can give you tinnitus if you listen to it too loud for too long, dumbass. Plus, where did you get that we think we're smart? We just enjoy the genre, lad.

Oh dude, HNB is so, SO GOOD. Non wall? Hmmm....
>13 Japanese Birds
>Sexual Behavior In The Human Male
>Senzuri Champion, Powerup and Fight Back
>Death Of Rock & Roll Former Self
If I missed anything, pls for the love of god enlighten me.

People like to get this crazy notion that Noise folks are pretentious wads....just as I thought before I had my mind blown open by the sudden change around of me loving the genre IDK why people think that.

Massona got me into noise, "ejaculator generator" is just addictive

And "flare gun" is the album that got me into Merzbow. Surprises me its not recommended more often, its the perfect starting point

Also, Merzbow just sounds so much better on vinyl its amazing

>Vinyl
If you can show me some Merzbow vinyl that's not the price of a car payment, I'd be all for it.

Graft (the one I own) and the rest of Cold Spring releases are all under 18 euros
Paid 12 for my copy bcs a friend visited the shop and bought it along 10+ albums and got discount

You guys like power electronics?
This is one of the most psychotic and evil albums
I've ever heard.

I could never find good Power Electronics outside of the obvious Whitehouse. Glad to find some!

Rainbow electronics is cool.
Has some crazy vibes going on.
Listening to it right now, fuck man.

No, I meant any wall recs for someone who's only so far into non-wall. Thanks for the recs anyways.

they're too pleb to imagine getting into it, so they criticize people who have.

YES! I've always shilled that album here, SJ is amazing but this particular release just revels in hate, it's the pinnacle of angry music to me.

Do any of you maybe have a link to Operation Miranda - Children's Pornography Review Vol. 1 ?
Heard some really good things about it, but can't find it anywhere.

I WISH YOUR FUCKING MOTHER COULD BE HERE TO SAY THIS

I always get goosebumps at this part.

Best power electronics album entering the thread

There is a copy on slsk, 128 kbps though :/

Do you want me to get it for you?

It's on SoulSeek

Does anyone have the 2017 CD version of Lebanon for Lebanese?

It has 2 cassette bonus tracks and no vinyl cracks.

What's NOT on SoulSeek t b h

Nkondi - Popfailure
Probably the harshest noise album ever made, unless someone can correct me...? I had to look in the archive.

who /WANTSUSURIHUA/ here

Bump to find out people's most harsh albums

"most harsh" is a dogshit descriptor that means a different thing to everyone you ask. dickhead.

So fucking what? I'm asking different people, and if they understand it as a "different thing", then that just means that I'll get more opinions, which is what I'm asking for. Think before you type, retard.

asking for "the most harsh" noise album is like being that one fucking kid who listens to metalcore and is constantly on the lookout for "the most brutal breakdown" without actually having any idea of what that would mean. because it doesn't mean anything

i know you just want to jerk yourself off over being trve kvlt and listening to the "harshest" noise album, but what you actually meant to say was "people's favourite noise albums"

I have listened to a lot of noise albums, and it's pretty easy to tell which ones are more harsh than the others (In fact, the one I mentioned, Popfailure, is definitely not my favorite harsh noise album). If I ask what people think is the most "harsh" album, I'm asking what album is the most "unpleasantly rough or jarring" to their ears. I know exactly what I'm asking about. Asking people for their subjective opinion does not mean that I'm trying to be "trve kvlt", it just means that I want to know. For fucks sake, this is a harsh noise general.

government alpha, tralphaz, breakdancing ronald reagen, T.E.F., Richard Ramirez, Prurient

I'll check those out.

BRR is not worth a fuck & you know it.

Gaah. Please link me the popfailure album. I can't find it! Post pls.

FACE THE FEAST OF POWDER

NOBODY WOULD PAY FOR YOUR CUM YOU'RE NOT YOUR BROTHER......you're not your brother....

Just got done listening to Wall by Amneslia, and I think it's a pretty darn solid piece of music.
loliwillnoise.bandcamp.com/album/wall

As far as more mainstream noise, I really like Sphere by Merzbow and Sissy Spacek's self titled.

While I think that the genre is fine there's plenty of retards who listen for the sake of being quirky or edgy. One of my autistic friends is obsessed with atrax morgue and always takes photos of himself wielding a chainsaw and pretending to mutilate himself. The fucker is insanely delusional too who can't shut up about the singularity and thinking we will all live inside a machine.

I fully agree with this. I admit that I get a but of a kick out of weirding people out with my taste in music, I listen to it for the sole purpose of my own enjoyment and appreciation.

Oh yeah, I forgot that the archive is down
It has a really low kbps, but that's how it was when I got it and it doesn't really affect the sound
mega.nz/#F!s5hmiTTS!daiX2hqxSXR9VwqEQcXz2Q

Exactly. These people are the reason that the genre is so vilified. I have a few friends who make fun of me for it, but I still love it either way.

>any wall recs for someone who's only so far into non-wall
I could use this too, as far as HNW goes I've only listened to that one Mo*te album and a couple by Vomir and The Rita and I'm not sure where to proceed

Yes please.
thank you very much.

It's his one Relapse Records release. Relapse was just getting huge when it came out

Also, I'm not sure what you'll think of this but I quite like this album here. feralsociety.bandcamp.com/album/hydrangea

This is pretty neat.
harshnoisewall.bandcamp.com/album/100-celebrating-100-releases-with-hnw

*see
goddammit

Here you go: mega.nz/#!4QlxCYRS!sXXedZ0TPanDwFLJ530FjdvGKngrF1Ckk54Ab3DR9_I

The Rita was my introduction to HNW. Also Vomir, of course. I mostly stayed at The Rita because that stuff is goat. Thousands of Dead Gods is an easy favorite.

my own shit
apaleskinmexican.bandcamp.com/music

What's some other good stuff by The Rita? I see he has some stuff with Werewolf Jerusalem

i liked this a lot. all of releases from last year were pretty solid. anyone have something harsher than pic related?

I found those nylon releases interesting. But maybe that's just me.

Thanks, will listen

...

bump

Anyone here into crossover stuff? Pure noise is just a little too far gone for me most of the time.

The droning part at the beginning sounds like a guitar, was this done with instruments or all electronically?

Related question- How do artists actually make harsh noise? Running keys and guitars and noisemakers through a ton of effects and stuff, or electronically? Is there a lot of variation?
I'm still pretty new to the genre.

okay so there's 2 main types
digital
analog

digital is made entirely with a computer, see merzbow's later work
analog is made using things that convert shit to sounds, like rubbing cables on shit or putting an object on a turntable
Merzbow for instance has a massive array of pedals and a "noise banjo" for lack of a better term he uses sometimes
basically just use electricity so somehow make physical action into sound
it really depends, harsh noise is actually a pretty broad genre
see this video for merzbow's live setup youtube.com/watch?v=xJSMf8hRWtA
I saw this great video of a guy with different cabs on a turntable that he attached to a bunch of random shit while shaking the table, but the title was in moonspeak so I can't find it again
some bands like the gerogerigegege or hanatarash just play ultra distorted and fucked punk music really fast with shitloads of feedback (this is sometimes called noisecore)

The Boris and Merzbow stuff is good shit. My favorite is Gensho, although MegaTone comes in a close second. Boredoms also cross noise with other genres very well.

I really can't, for the life of me, think of anything

wata is best waifu
nice vid

I love Boredoms, but I'm trying to branch out. Are there really any other bands out there that make music like this that aren't Japanese?

I actually really love Boris. The Merzbow collabs are no different. They're so good.

>Into crossover stuff
I always feel that crossovers fall flat unless the artists are in a similar vein (see some of dilloways collabs), like the merzbow sun Ra release.

deadaircollective.bandcamp.com/album/high-impact-sexual-violence

It was excellent, worth checking out.

IM ADDICTED TO PROSTITUTES, LIKE SOME MEN ARE ADDICTED TO ALCOHOL

>REEEEE FUCKING WHORES the album

It's fucking great

The Japanese kind of nail that sort of shit.

sissy spacek, butthole surfers, anal cunt, skunk

Controlled Bleeding
Specially the early stuff, the new album was good thou. I dig their industrial stuff too but this is a noise thread

I saw Controlled Bleeding recommended when looking for noise artists, are they like....really good?

They started in the early 80s and are still going (event thou 2 died). There good, kees and bones is one of the best of their early noise stuff. The drowning is a good mix of noise and their post waxtrax days, when they did actual songs which are gr8 if you dig that stuff. Words of the dying was their "hit" in those days, LOVE that cheesy song

>Boredoms
Not that guy, but since I love the dark industrial noise of early Controlled Bleeding will I like Boredoms? Like for me it's the other way around, I'm familiar with CB.

If you like noise at all, you'll probably like Boredoms.

>I really can't, for the life of me, think of anything
lool iktf

wow, is /noise/ back?

i hope underage shitsposters don't ruin it

Sun baked snow cave is my jam

Just wait ;)

This is my favorite thread in a long time

That would make me a combination of both, since I use a guitar with effect pedals (most of which are broken or worn to shit so I can buy them cheap) and then transfer to my laptop to "compose" and change sounds.

I do the same thing with a komplete audio 6 and a laptop using ableton. All you need is an audio interface so you can plug 1/4 cables in and out.

It also work really well for live improvisation, because you can just forget about one instrument and dick around with the other until you feel there needs to be a change

There have been a couple solid /noise/ threads lately. Feels good
