First time poster. Is this a thing? I know about Glam Metal but it's too aggressive for me. Baby metal is too wapanese for me too.
Ever since I saw this I've been trying to scratch my itch. I want something that's like pop-punk lyrically, heavier but not aggressive in the lyrics. >youtube.com/watch?v=xpO5Emp10DY >I miss you sounded the best
So Sup Forums can you help me out with what I'm looking for? Am I shit out of luck? Will I have to create this gay ass genre?
It had better fucking be your last you little shit
Joseph Collins

Juan Moore
I hope it will be. This is my first time in Sup Forums and I want it to be my last.
Angel Smith
In Warrant's page of Spotify, it describes the band as pop-metal When I first read this, I was like, what I'm even reading
Jackson Collins
Probably japanese flower metal
Jacob Ortiz
Had a qt PR gf's uncle who hipped me on Non Point. They weren't so bad.
Jaxon Young
I'm not a music guy which is why I asked.
If this genre doesn't exist I might have to make it and shit all over the music world.
Asher Howard
you want fear and loathing in las vegas
Justin Carter
you could check out the more recent deftones releases maybe? a pretty good synthesis of dream pop/shoegaze/generally "pop" songwriting and alternative metal. maybe less campy than you were expecting and definitely more subtle a prospect but it fits the bill pretty nice. chino is also a huge fan of duran duran and you can hear it a bit in his songwriting
i know you checked out glam metal but check out w.a.s.p if you haven't already
now get the fuck out of here......
Samuel Bell
>nonpoint Getting close. Closer. Too much synth crap for my tastes. Remove all that and they'd pretty much be it.
Come on Sup Forums help me out here.

I wasn't a fan of wasp and is what I was trying to avoid. Don't get me wrong I like a band to have energy but the lyrics I'm looking for would be delivered a little less aggressively. Deftones have the right sound but the wrong lyrics.
Thanks for the recommendations though I'm getting closer.
Nah. It's the delivery of the lyrics that kills me. To me it's like they're just aggressive in their delivery where things like pop-punk try a smoother delivery than as opposed to bands like Poison, Def Leppard and Warrant. It might be the style of the age at that time I don't dig on.
if you're looking to tone down the aggression maybe just look into glam punk. the brand of weeb metal you're looking for in english probably doesn't work because the americas don't have the same affinity for cute schoolgirls/ladyboys being badass as japan does
it's also very mainstream there and the production value for a lot of it is high, whereas in the US or something it's too niche to capitalize on so no band will even try it
