Is he really the best there is in today's hip-hop? Who can shut up his dickriders?
Is he really the best there is in today's hip-hop? Who can shut up his dickriders?
hi respond please
yes, nobody
Hypothetically, if he isn't the best, who is?
Xxxtentacion
No shilling please
If you compare their complete catalogs, there is a case for Kanye. That being said Kendrick could rap circles around him.
Hip-hop doesn't exist, it's just a meme you silly goose.
schoolboy q
Yeah, Kanye but quite some time ago
Danny Brown
kendrick fell off after GKMC but unfortunately the state of hip-hop is pretty terrible these days, nothing good even came out last year
Danny Brown is probably the best rapper of this decade and is more talented in one finger than Kendrick's whole discography.
then you didn't listen to anything that came out last year
>then you didn't listen to anything that came out last year
not an arguement, try naming an album next time
i don't want to have to post my rankings of 2016 hip-hop albums, nothing was above a 7/10
Atrocity Exhibition
UU
Denzel Curry
Then stop shilling kendrick you fucking dicksuckers
both forgettable and both artists have done better in the past
anything else?
If he is I'm glad I stopped listening to rap years ago.
Also Freddie Gibbs is better.
agree but that's a stupidly hyperbolic statement
freddie gibbs
danny brown
earl
jay electronica
yelawolf
probably the only lyricists who would hold their own
Danny Brown is damn-near unlistenable. He lacks the wit lyrically to be using that voice on every single track. Never before or since has a one-trick gimmick been so acclaimed.
holy fuck dude, can you at least digest lyrics before you post? what a terrible opinion
I've heard him do at least three different voices. Also his lyrics are ridiculously creative.
Kanye's the best creative mind/producer, Kendrick's the best rapper.
>AE
>forgettable
whatever you say, hit me with a substantive argument if it's not too hard
eversince
telefone
martyrloserking
maiden voyage suite
malibu
elucid - save yourself
kevin abstract - american boyfriend
montana of 300 - fire in the church
leave hipper hop to me
>hit me with a substantive argument if it's not too hard
danny doesn't have much lyrical range, and the beats weren't well-suited for him, so just i'd listen to XXX instead for when he was at his lyrical peak. sure AE is filled with 'experimentation' but almost all of it lacked proper execution, and earl was the only good feature plus he renegaded him on that track. danny needs to spend more time on these aborted songs that just needed more work done on them before release
malibu/eversince/telefone were also forgettable but i'll listen to the rest of those
Agreed on almost all counts, but honestly I found the beats *very* fitting for him: can't imagine anyone else rapping over something like Ain't It Funny, When It Rain or Golddust. That might just be my poor knowledge of hiphop, though.
I'm curious: what's top of the crop rap for you, defined as someone speaking rhytmically over a beat?
I hate his voice. It's pretty much a non-starter for me. Doesn't help he does a bunch of obnoxious vocal "techniques" to make his songs more "interesting". His music is so self indulgent.
>can't imagine anyone else rapping over something like Ain't It Funny, When It Rain or Golddust.
i can't either, but i think the beats would have made an interesting instrumental album at least. someone like mf doom (on madvillainy) or earl (on i don't go outside) can pull off pretending the beats aren't there but danny not so much
>I'm curious: what's top of the crop rap for you, defined as someone speaking rhytmically over a beat?
well most rappers follow their beats (just because it's easier), black thought of the roots rides his beats very well, freddie gibbs on pinata was probably one of the last hip-hop albums i'd give at least an 8/10, i also liked blu & exile's 'Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them'
I love DOOM and Earl's good, althrough he sometimes bores me. Black Thought is great too and crazy underrated. GIbbs' cool too, loved Pinata (not so much his latest album)
Never heard of that one, I'll check it out. Thanks.
