ITT: The Seventh Seal discussion

What did you guys think about it?

I really liked the atmosphere, camera work and the movies themes. My favorite parts of the movie were any scene with Death. Especially that one where he's in the Church having a talk with the knight (I can't remember the name, and I'm too lazy to google it). What was the movie about? As I understood it, it was about existentialism, about God, afterlife etc. I think I grasped a good amount of it, but not fully. I do plan to rewatch it in the future, seems like a movie that awards rewatching, because of it themes.

movie's*

because of it's themes*

It's about the inevitability of death, regardless of whether or not there is an afterlife. It is a really good movie, I wish more normies would know what it is because presently I feel bad about thinking of it as entry level pleb material (even though it is an actual masterpiece and rightly heralded arthouse classic, even though arthouse is a meme genre). But at the same time I am glad it is relatively little known to true plebs.

Stop posting here

IT'S PRETENTIOUS FAGGOTRY FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LOOKS SMART HAHA LOSER.

Why?

there is a triangle of banter between the knight the squire and death

pretty interesting

Wild Strawberries is his best movie.

Plebs will say it's Persona.

i loved persona and didnt enjoy wild strawberries at all
not sure if winter light or persona is better tho

Thought as much. Yeah, the movie really is a gem, and I really enjoyed it. I liked the ending, though it was cool. Probably my second favorite part of the movie.

Thanks for bumping, but it would be cool if you could contribute something constructive to the thread aside from insulting it's fans.

Will check it out, this was my first movie from this director and I'm happy to hear it's not his best. Also, nice dubs.

What do you mean?

Reread your post

all the characters were degenerate sinners (in some way or another) except for the entertainer couple, who were the only ones to escape death. i dont think its just "death is inevitable," to me it seems like its just "live pure and free and you dont need to fear death." i know bergmans dad was a priest or whatever the protestant equivalent is and i think bergman himself was a fairly devout christian all his life, no?

...

>i think bergman himself was a fairly devout christian all his life, no?
bergman had some issues faith wise, he made films about it (winter light)

BORING

lmao

What was knight's sin? Wasn't he only curious about God? About the afterlife? Also, his squire didn't seem that sinful either.

As is your unoriginal comment. But thanks for another bump, user, I appreciate!

truly done son

YEAH I DIDN@T SEE THE FIRST SIX THO

why? reread your post hahaha wooooo

excellent work detective

>knight's sin
fought in the crusades, probably murdered a lot of muslims including women and children
>squire
ive only seen the movie once and it was a while ago, but didnt he nearly rape some girl? then he decided to keep her as a servant. he probably did some dark shit in the past if he does stuff like that.

But the husband was a sinner as well, he stole the necklace and gave it to his wife.

...

it's inherently bad because swedish sounds like retarded english

u were never even born

you were always dead

He didn't plan to rape her, he only said that he could have, but that rape isn't his deal.
Then mute the movie and watch it like that. I don't know what your problem is with swedish, I'm Croatian and I didn't have a problem with it.

i am here to walk upon the already down trodden

your move, normie

Fuck off frogposters.

roastie or toastie, you're coming with me

come quietly or there will be... REEEEEE

DARKNESS IMPRISONING ME

dumb frogposter

have fun at the cinema, friend

God, why is this board so terrible? I want to start a legit discussion about the move, and shitposting squad invades. Then again, Sup Forums is a shit board and ito the trash it goes.

i really liked the sinister song about Death that was performed by the wandering actors
too bad i cant find it with subtitles on youtube or somewhere else

I really liked that too.

because you expected a board on Sup Forums to actually understand the subject in which they partake
i dont really find the movie pretentious, just an eccentric kind of aging
Persona is way more pretentious

/his/ is genuine board in which you can have an actual discussion. Sure, there are a retards here and there, but discussions look like something at least. On this board there's load of contrarian faggots, shitposters, and a few who want to discuss movies, but are unable because shitposters make it impossible.

I didn't see Persona, but since I liked this movie I'll watch it. In what way is it pretentious? Is it still good even though it's pretentious?

do you ever wonder why? Sup Forums is as mainstream as it's gonna get here on Sup Forums. of course most of the Sup Forums rejects are gonna land here first.

I know that, I've been here since 2015, and it's only getting worse. Week - two ago porn posters invaded Sup Forums and it was full of porn threads. Fucking hell, why do I even visit this shit board?

Try discussing a director who isn't an overindulgent faggot who puts pussy on a pedestal.

I'm not discussing the director, I want to discuss his movie not his whole work. Also, provide better arguments or fuck off with your buzz words, faggot.

My argument is Smiles of a Summer Night, Sawdust and Tinsel, A Lesson in Love. Anyone who enjoys the one sided feminist browbeatings and spoonfeeding of Bergman's white knight worldview isn't qualified to disagree with me.
