fuck, pic's upside-down

is that oczy mlody i see?
>worst lips album of all tmie

...

I've started collecting old Christian fundamentalist preachings and recordings for sampling purposes.
Here are a few I bought recently, "The Big Beat, A Rock Blast" is probably my favorite. It is some school music director absolutely losing it in front of a church about how Rock music is destroying our youth.

I also have a sizable VSH collection of what I call "rare media", on the related topics also for sampling.

No, which one are you thinking of?
The psychedelic-colored one is PBVGR

>kamasi washington

ive never even listened to it

>when you have a 10" and forget if it's in 45 or 33 rpm and you start playing it at the wrong speed, but you don't realize, until vocals start

...

4/10
5/10

I got Kamasi when he played a show on my campus, met him and got him to sign it. Not a big fan but its pretty cool

Got this recently

Heres the rest of the collection i guess

you have alot of shit i want senpai

I'm curious, how much did you pay for Momentary Lapse of Reason? It's the only PF album left I have to buy and I see it a lot but it's always around $19 and I just can't bring myself to spend that much!

Posting exactly 1/3rd of my collection. Second third is mostly good stuff from the 60s/70s (lots of Springsteen, Beatles, Dylan, Neil Young, etc.) and the last third is miscellaneous old shit that I don't really play.

(1/2)

Great stuff, well-rounded taste.
Hot damn this is fascinating, where'd you find it?
don't be a dick

0$
got it from my uncle together with the other Floyd records. very happy about it desu

(2/2)

What's this? I dig the aesthetic

thats Xiu Xiu - Forget

lol i got my collection in thirds too. After family members found out i bought vinyl they gave me all their old shit. i got a section for my shit, one for the shit i like from them, and the other for just the shit.

buying a new record with my amazon gift card and cant pick. Lift Your Skinny Fists, or Daydream Nation. I know both well I just can't pick

it's a limited edtion printing of Xiu Xiu - Forget
i think the regular pressing is just a colored one

why not get a good record instead?

:^)

I ended up buying The Powers That B, so I failed on that

This are a number of second-hand shops owned and run by churches here (Chattanooga TN), and most of the books, movies and music are all religious. There is a whole lot of Jesus down here in the South bub.

Mack and James are both cunts.

Looking for more? I got a box of weird off the wall religious records that some guy gave to me. Most have no records of production that I can find on the Internet

>where do you reside at?

Chattanooga TN. These kinds of records are not hard at all to find in the South, I just like collecting them because I know there is no copy or info online about them, I am like the only person in the world who might knowingly have a copy a record.

But ya, they are all pretty much worthless, but some are fantastic for sampling.

who?

Why did Oczy Mlody get so much hate?
"How??" is a fantastic song

That was the early bird pressing right? Looks gorgeous, when I first saw it, it made me wish I liked Xiu Xiu more than I actually do just so I could justify getting it

I spot Lousy With Sylvianbriar, nice

...

find a box or shelf or something, m8

Is 3 grams too heavy of a tracking force?

I have this stylus for my old AT39 cartidge; the recommendation weight is 1.5 to 2.5 grams, however on some albums it seems to track A LOT better with 3 grams. Thoughts?

No photo, but i have over 600 LPs, recently bought Donuts, the EP edition, my first Led Zepellin LP, Led Zepellin II, Aquemini and a bunch of African shit, vinyl to sample from and shit.

Probably spent 3 or 4 times as much as you, because Argentina has some terrible economy. Records that are 1 dollar everywhere else, are 5 dollars here. 20 dollars records are from 40 to 60 dollars. Paid the equivalent of 31 dollars for Led Zepellin, 60 for Aquemini.

...

Is the second one down Gov. Plates?

nah man, its only the sleeve of NLDW.
i still need Exmilitary and GP.

Shit man, 3g is pretty heavy, I'd say go 1.5-2.0 but not over that otherwise you might start fucking shit up.

Sorry for shit camera shot, this is just my main shelf and I got separate boxes for Dylan, rap, jazz, and Beatles-related stuff. You can see what all I got here:

Going to a big record fair in the city tomorrow so probably gonna grab some more

shit, didnt know they released this on colored vinyl that looks great

all of these are better

you got a discogs mate? would love to see what you got

I've never understood the appeal of vinyl, other than collector's value. Is there really any? Because I've had people IRL try to tell me there is.

It's like having a book collection, at least from my own experience.

As someone who pirates music, it's the best way to get those releases you love the most imo.

It's not like vinyl is a primary form of listening nowadays, but it's cozy to chill at home while listening to them.

I'm specially interested in vinyl vs CD quality. I've heard that CDs have the capability for higher quality than vinyl, and the parts that vinyl has an advantage in are inaudible to the human ear, but I've also heard that companies will sometimes use higher quality masters for vinyls than CDs. Is this true? And, if so, how often does it happen?

If the labels are truly interested in vinyl quality, a different mastering is made for the format, along with the CD/digital mastering. But I believe most of the time they do a general mastering for both vinyl and CDs.

In the worst cases, they literally rip a commercial CD and use that to cut vinyl, which mostly happens to reissues.

As someone who collects vinyl, the sound quality is the last thing one would expect from them. This kind of thought comes from the fact that original vinyl releases from the golden days sound much better than the posterior CD re-releases, due to the fact that the early tape transfers do digital were faulty at some degree.

What about Fashion Show / Interview 2016?

What about modern releases? And around when did CD transfers become better?

Vinyl is just more "fun".

Big art, lots of new vinyl has crazy colours and the whole process makes you feel more involved with the music if that makes sense.

Ah. So what I'm getting from this is
Old albums: vinyl > CD quality wise
New albums:CD >vinyl quality wise?

FLAC for LIFE BROTHER

$5 Sealed

Aren't FLAC usually the same quality as CDs?

I wanna see the rest
Looked through that list and hot damn I envy your Dylan collection.

Recent cops

Aside from the whole audiophile perspective, I think vinyl is nice as something to make a collection of, and the tangible aspect is cool too

no point in buying CDs at all these days honestly

I met Nico at Brown a couple times, really chill dude.

new stuff from last month
wasting money on fancy plastic

I just got my first job out of college. should i buy physical again? I can afford to get off streaming

Thanks man, yeah Dylan hasn't been too hard to come by around here. I love collecting Dylan because I find something positive to take away from every release of his, though I'm still missing a few key releases. Crossing my fingers to find some more Dylan at that record fair tomorrow.

>All those recent releases

>no point in buying CDs at all these days honestly
they used to say the exact same thing about vinyl.

CD's are an incredible bargain. Every thrift store, flea market, garage sale, you-name-it, are selling for next to nothing. REALLY nice players are also cheap as fuck these days. I just got pic related new old stock for $20

I'm sleepy and can't really make a decent argument but I don't get anything out of listening to a CD that I wouldn't get out of listening to a rip of that same CD

bump

Just got this yesterday, limited to 1000. its one of my fave bootlegs of them as well which is neat

ew look at all the meme music. at least you have SAW II

What is Earth like on vinyl?

>tfw can't stop buying records

I just ordered Oranssi Pazuzu's reissue of the first album, now I got four records I'm expecting in the mail (plus two from local crowdfunded)

What's Sup Forums getting for Record Store Day?

I'm hoping to get Bowie No-plan
Yes - 90125 (picture disk)

Also maybe one of the stupidest purchases at my local record shop just for shits and giggles

complete pleb, mostly new stuff and reissues nobody will give a fuck about
I don't know what kind of retarded fuck spent 50 bucks on a special edition PBvsGR and doesn't own Person Pitch but does have fucking tomboy, but congrats on being a retard, retard
the coolest thing in this image is the hp laptop, there's way too much intro to pleb garbage and modern boxsets that are never going to be listened to
why did you bother sharing the rest of this
I guess your college friends won't be bored with this collection
I've wasted less money making a child than you did with a bunch of wax discs
why would anyone need this many beatles records
why'd you take a picture of this on your cumstained sheets, this is just a reissue you moron
the coolest part of this pic are the jizz stains on your bedsheets, you do realize that you're the moron who bought the one copy of this no one else your record store serves wanted right?you realize everyone at the record fair was snickering behind your back right?

Posted this once before. It looks more impressive laid out, but on the shelf, it looks like the picture above this one.

I assure you, no collection that has human after all and a bunch of garbage (shitty tool, zappa, queens, tame impala, and mostly reissues) on top of that looks impressive.

Blowin your mind - Van Morrison.

Not what I meant. It just looks like a lot more tiled out. And your taste is irrelevant.

taste is irrelevant in the same way your paycheck is to you, clearly.

> be 36
> mortgage is paid off
Money is bit less relevant, you poorfag.

>36
>Buys trash introduction vinyl often sold at Urban Outfitters

Embarassing desu user

>50 bucks
It was only 15, my shop was trying to get rid of it.

My hand-me-down shelf is alphabetical by author, though. OP pic is just the recorda I've bought myself/received as a gift.

Yeah, for a WIGGER

LOL
THINKS THAT WAS ME HOLY SHIT LOL

Alright senpai, go ahead and give it to me, I may be a poorfag but I'm a poorfag with expensive taste fags

>keeps sperging in the exact same way
>desu
>senpai

>"thinks it was me"

You do know that those are autocorrected on this and every board on 4chins right?

...

in the process of transferring all my records into MoFi sleeves
