Merzbow

the fuck did i just listen to....it was just noise

Same thing can be said about jimi Hendrix

Define "newer"

Just stick to classic rock. Modern bands playing the same generic style of 60s/70s rock are horrible.

There's this new kickass band called The Stooges.

Death Grips

A lot of people into classic rock like the stuff coming out of indie rock (if you're really new and haven't listened to the Strokes or the White Strips listen to that, there's some more modern bands in the same vein).

You could check out Tame Impala as well. Animal Collective is highly influenced by psychedelic rock. You could try jammier stuff like Battles out of left-field.

don't do it it creates mustard gas

Whitehouse

Earthless are pretty cool. Entirely instrumental, but it's not like that's ever a problem.
This guy's a guitar wizard

But the other anons are right, try branching out more the 60's and 70's are gone man. It's better to innovate than sulk on a bygone era.

Try this and The Flood

Of the legitimately new bands, Rival Sons are quite good.

If you're looking for modern dad rock though, there's a bunch of collaboration projects and "supergroups" (I'm using the term pretty generously for a lot of them) of the older guys.

Just a few off the top of my head

>Chickenfoot
>Black Country Communion
>Red Zone Rider
>The Dead Daisies
>The Winery Dogs
>Adrian Vandenberg's Moonkings
>Rated X
