its not v long
any recs would b appreciated

U.S Maple - Long Hair in Three Stages would work if you can get past the god awful vocals.

don caballero - 2
bitch magnet - umber
codeine - white birch

indian summer - science 1994
cerberus shoal - cerberus shoal
native nod - today puberty tomorrow the world
kolya - kolya
rodan - rusty

thanks v much
i'll add the 1s i know and listen to rest

havnt heard us maple, native nod or kolya
this had been a good ploy to find more spiderlandy records

Leaves Turn Inside You - Unwound

I think I like leaves more at this point mainly because it's twice as long and still flawless.

>someone mentions Rodan - Rusty in these threads

w-what's wrong with Rodan - Rusty?

>Peter Parker on the beach, making castles in the sand
>"After I make this moat, I call you Spiderland!"
What kinda shit is this.

you must not be looking then because spiderland is one of the most boring fucking piece of shit albums ever released. its popularity is just a meme that got forced by this board years ago and picked up by music journalists who want to seem "with it"

go away dumbass

The true best post-rock album after Spiderland is Tortoise-Millions Now Living Will Never Die
Couple others:
Bark Psychosis-Hex
Talk Talk- Laughing Stock
Sigur Ros- Agaetis Byrjun

All relatively well known but still very good.

>god awful vocals.
Top plen

I guess its just the opener that reminds Spiderland.

Anyone else view Spiderland as a spiritual successor to Red by King Crimson, or is that just me?

Tortoise s/t

I've always thought they had a vague connection

lol thats my 2nd fav album
i definitely feel the connections in the mathy time signature changes - and dynamics of starless
i made a similar list for that album:

recs for that also appreciated

the only dumbasses here are the people who bought the meme and actually think spiderland is good

while these are all great post rock albums, i don't think they encapsulate the feeling or sound of spiderland, they're all great, but there's something about the way they play their guitars in spiderland and the structure of the songs that is extremely specific.
