This Perfect Day
Hellogoodbye
The Red Hot Valentines

ima robot. it was alex ebert's band before he became a new age hippie. good vocal range and the rhythm sections are really good but the lyrics can be cringy at times. their last album reminds me of AnCo for some reason but the other stuff is power pop / indie rock / dance punk.

Thee Makeout Party
Pointed Sticks
Wyatt Blair
King Tuff

They're pretty obvious, but if you like Weezer and haven't checked out the Cars then you really should

The Rentals. Half way between Weezer and the Cars

genuine question: what's the difference between power pop and indie pop?

The Only Ones
Badfinger
Jellyfish
The Jam (a lot of the time, not always)
The Replacements
Nick Lowe (and his band Rockpile)
Todd Rundgren
Sugar (the Bob Mould band)
Squeeze
Supergrass (mostly Britpop, but very Power Pop influenced)
The Nerves, and their spin-off group...
The Beat (the American band, but the British one are great as well, just not Power Pop)
The Posies
The dB's

One of them likes to fool themselves into a false sense of superiority because they're "underground" and the other writes catchy hooks.

Is this the uber-patrician secret GOAT Power Pop album?

Try listening to early stuff from The Who, which was pretty influential for power pop.

I bet it's secretly The Waitresses

How the fuck did he do it?

How is this even power pop?

kek

Don't get turned off by the artist; before this band went mainstream they were actually a surprisingly good Replacements-style band. They even wrote a song with Paul Westerberg on this album.

Teenage Fanclub.

Velvet Crush - Teenage Symphonies to God
