A big portion of American teachers are the biggest fucking cancer in public education. And they have the nerve to say they are unpaid.

When I was still in school I use to get kicked out of class for asking too many questions on the topics we were learning about because I was 'wasting too much time'. They only care about teaching for tests instead of actually teaching subjects and it makes me fucking sick to think about. They try and beat out any passion kids might have for learning.

You see, children all over the planet of all (almost) ethnicities are perfectly capable of figuring out mental operations by themselves.
Noone in history ever had to teach children that 8+5 is 13 because 8+2 is 10 and you're left with 3 so 10+3 is 13.
Children soon realize that using your fingers is inefficient and seek for a quicker solution.
You probably never gave it a second thought but this is the way of thinking of most normal people.
8+5 is a bad example because it's so simple you don't have to think about it. But think of adding two larger numbers together.

Unless a child suffers from development issues we all come to the same concept and use it in life.
But then you add blacks to the mix. And you have to teach them that. From the absolute, fucking basics. Otherwise they fail.

That's not what common core is. Basically we noticed that we aren't very good at education so we looked at the things the were teaching kids in places like Sweden and took what the kids there know by the end and made that the standard for schools here. The gov said each School had to get those results but they are free to decide how to get there.
