>Late round draft pick >Came in and replaced an injured veteran QB >Incredible poise and leadership at such a young age >Knows how to properly progress through his reads >Has the record for most pass attempts to start a career without an INT >Has the "IT" factor - nearly lead a comeback drive in the final seconds of his first game that was only ruined by a receiver stupidly staying inbounds
Is he unironically the next Tom Brady?
Jaxon Bennett
No. He's black and plays for the Cowboys. Next question.
Nathan Adams
You'll know when he can still function with a terrible o line.
Caleb Gutierrez
>Came in and replaced an injured veteran QB >having a fantastic first season >people begin to hype him up to ridiculous levels
Gee where have I heard this story before...
Lincoln Perez
Only half-black, and Russel Wilson has proved that halfies can succeed at QB.
He actually progresses through his reads, and doesn't rely heavily on his legs. None of the problems that typically plague black QBS are an issue with Dak.
Angel Hughes
>late round He was picked in the 4th >can progress through his reads With that oline and with defenses respecting the run game that's not that hard
no the only similarity they share is the love of throwing to white manlet wrs
Adrian Rivera
There seems to currently be a market inefficiency in the draft with short Mixed race QBs who don't wow you athletically, but actually know how to play the position.
Wilson was taken in the 3rd round, and Dak was taken in the 4th. Wonder if teams are gonna adjust to this soon.
Jason Cook
He's not the next Tom Brady but he is something.
He's being progressed in the perfect way (minus the increased media attention), fantastic offensive line, great running back, been given a lot of basic throws to build his confidence and presence.
Once he's forced to expand and throw 40 times a game, you'll see how good he is. No coincidence the one game he had to throw over 40 times (vs. Giants), he only completed 55%, and his longest throw was 21 yards.
Gabriel Murphy
cassel, osweiler, matt flynn im sure there are more
Owen Martinez
I was thinking of kaep, but the others work too
Nolan Ward
>With that oline and with defenses respecting the run game that's not that hard
Even with a lot of time in the pocket, young QBs often struggle to go through their reads. Also, Dak has been doing it well all season even in his first two games when the running game wasnt really up to speed yet. In fact, it's because he showed that he can pick apart defenses that the running game started to finally find success.
Cowboys rushing attack was really mediocre last year with Romo out since teams could just permanently stack the box without the fear of a competent QB exploiting it.
Xavier Wilson
All things considered, he did more than respectable for a rookie asked to throw 40 times in his first ever NFL action. The Cowboys were in that game the entire time. He's also been showing improvement every week, so I would imagine if he were to have to throw 40 times in a game today, he'd probably do much better.
William Gray
>black quarterback meme >"he plays for the Cowboys so he's a bust" meme
Not an argument.
David Phillips
Dak isn't really short but I'm not disputing what you're saying otherwise.
Oliver Gomez
No, because Jason Garrett isn't Bill Bellichick.
Luke Foster
I agree with this.
We saw the Cowboys offense sputter quite often because the quarterbacks weren't able to play effectively. Even if McFadden rushed for over 1000 yards, teams didn't respect the QB and it was only a matter of time before defenses were able to stop the QB or stuff the run for a 3 and out.
We're seeing something similar happen with the Rams. Keenum is not a quality starter and defenses have been permanently stacking the box, taking away a lot of Todd Gurley's effectiveness and killing offensive drives.
Henry Robinson
>The Eagles, Cowboys, and Redskins all believe their shit quarterbacks to be the next Brady
>Eli doesn't need to be Brady because he owns him in the post season
You all sound like cucks
Sebastian Reed
How does having hope in your young quarterback make you a cuckold?
Legitimately curious here. You don't even know what it means to be a cuckold and you're trying to use the word as an insult. That's pretty funny, especially considering your shit team will be lucky to finish 8-8.
Austin Murphy
>"he plays for the Cowboys so he's a bust" meme
This argument doesn't even make sense anyway. The Cowboys have a pretty good history when it comes to QBs, and unlike the Eagles who have made an art out of having one year wonder QBs, a QB that looks good in their first year with the Cowboys tends to stay good.
Joseph Walker
No. He is ironically the next Tom Brady though. He has all the meme buzzwords and meaningless "records", he just doesn't have the only thing that truly mattered for Brady, which is having the best coach in the league.
Alexander Peterson
>Is he unironically the next Tom Brady?
lol no, tom brady makes the patriots a contender by himself. dak is unironically the least talented player on the cowboys offense, all he's being asked to do is not turn it over. he's a great game manager, but anyone thinking he's the main reason the cowboys are winning are delusional. his stats look nice because he never gets pressures, and therefore never needs to make risky throws or desperate plays
Jaxson Morales
It's just someone eternally butthurt finding another reason to give Cowboys fans shit.
Nolan Young
You forget that he lived under pressure for three years at Mississippi State and that's part of why he doesn't rush his progressions or try to force throws when he does get pressure in his face.
Asher Phillips
>You forget that he lived under pressure for three years at Mississippi State okay? he was 4th round talent based on what he did in college. christian hackenberg faced constant pressure in college as well, it doesn't mean he's good when under pressure.
Blake Turner
Eli outside of just a couple years has always been a mediocre QB with retardedly good luck and having an elite pass rush to carry him.
Romo is, and pretty much always has been an unironically better QB than Eli. Him and Rivers have had the shit end of the stick their entire careers, and all the choking stuff is complete bullshit when you actually look at the stats. They both play better in the playoffs than Peyton who actually does need his ass carried in the postseason.
Jaxon Adams
According to most talent scouts interviewed, he fell in the draft because he played in a spread offense and they weren't confident he could translate to a pro-style offense, and also because of his DUI arrest before the draft.
Most scouts had him as a 2nd or 3rd round talent before that.
James Campbell
Better not say that, people don't like it when confronted with facts.
Josiah Cooper
Jason Garrett is secretly a psychopathic genius. He has the eyes of a madman and lures people in to the belief that he's not actually the one pulling the strings with his goofy demeanor.
It's no coincidence that the Cowboys became a much smarter organization after he took the helm. Jerry Jones is deathly afraid of Garrett which is why he was never fired early on when the media kept saying he was on the hot seat.
Adrian Cox
No, he is better than brady
Liam Butler
>muh white ancestry meme is actually real shameful
Cameron Torres
I so want to believe this.
Landon Mitchell
I do believe Garrett is actually a good coach desu. Time will tell how good he is, but he is great at keeping his players focused and everyone in line and on the same page.
I was always in the camp that we should have patience with him to build the team, and it's worked out so far.
Robert Myers
>"it's worked out so far" >6 (six) years >one postseason win >objectively the least successful team in the division during his tenure as HC
Nathaniel Adams
