Its too bad peru is full of panhandlers and shitty water and disease. The culture there is really awesome and the music scene is nice but it's a sad place. Perfect place to get robbed and die from spider bite though.
That's ok most Peruvians are around 5 feet tall.
What are peruvians like user?
small indians
Los Saicos aren't punk. It' 60s pop rock played by spics that can't be bothered to tune their guitar. Ultimate music snob band. It's so bad you convince yourself it's good.
Well that's the spirit of punk!
Not peruvian but close

No it's not. You don't know what you're talking about.
Not him but why should I trust you over all the sources I've read that call them proto-punk? Just because they're "spics that can't be bothered to tune their guitar" doesn't make them not proto-punk.
They arent THAT ugly
This is the first time ever a Sup Forums rec was good. Thank you user
No they're not proto punk because like i said before it's literally just poorly played pop rock. The reason you shouldn't trust those sources is music nerds have this undying urge to label older and older things as proto punk. I've seen multiple call Herman's Hermits proto punk and that couldn't be anymore wrong. They were a radio group.
If i told you Chuck Berry was proto punk you'd shrug it off because he wasn't. He undoutbeldy had a hand in creating what would eventually lead to punk rock but he had nothing to do with punk. It wasn't even a thing when he was alive. Same goes for all these 60s bands people wanna attach proto punk to even though it's just a music nerd thing more than it is anything else. Only thing is these 60s bands didn't help invent rock n roll.
By alive i meant at the height of his career. That was my bad.
Only tangentially related, here's a good Chilean group of a similar vintage.
What do you call entierro de los gatos? It's pretty punk or at least proto punk to me
I'm trying to. Anything that isn't English made or American consumers bait
The great thing about music in general is that everything is open to opinion and nothing is really constricted or defined by one label. Interpretation is key. Your interpretation is all your own, isn't that what punk is about? Doing what you want disregarding labels and framework? And most definitely not tuning your guitar properly? What is punk to you?
Great album! What about this? youtube.com
