Yep, it was. Arguably one of the all time greatest pop songs too, it's just fucking superb from start to finish. The reason it is so good besides being so catchy, inventive and energetic is that it has so much personality, something other so-called great pop songs from that era lack. Take two answers from this thread, Crazy and Mr Brightside. About as much personality in them as a loaf of bread.
