Syd is cute, CUTE!

People who shop at zumiez

I'll listen to any project tyler earl or frank decide to put out.

nah shes ugly

maybe frank yeah. blonde was good. but honestly if you told me that tyler was dropping something tomorrow, id honestly look at you like a fucking poser loser.

People only care about Frank and Earl (and Tyler to a lesser extent).

>about a half dozen "whatever happened to OF" threads in the past two days
Is something happening?
Is EarlWolf finna drop?

my reaction to remembering the hype train behind earlwolf. fuck i was a cringy cunt in high school

Tyler is my nigga

>she

Jokes on you I wrote OFWGKTA in sharpie in every bathroom in high school at every chance I got.
And another:
My lunch table tried to start a "Kill People Burn Shit Fuck School" chant. Daily.

yeah really ugly lesbian

in terms of cringy shit goes memeing OFWGKTA circa early 2010s while you were in high school is fairly low in the totem pole because they were pretty funny in small doses and self aware enough

youtube.com/watch?v=5SEaCyUt25U

more cringey than me. at worst, i came to school in a OF hoodie (i went to catholic school, so we were only allowed to wear school approved cold weather clothing) and when they asked me to take it off, i refused and got a week's worth of detention.

There are so many comfy vids of OF fucking around in skateshops. Makes me really miss those days.

Get over yoursellf

>odd future
>highschool
Children get off this board please.

if you were above the age of 20 and a fan of odd future at their peak, damn i feel sorry for you. at least i was a immature piece of shit, what's ur excuse?

I think it's easy for people to say get over yourself but if you weren't an OF fanboy you might not quite get it. It's hard to really wrap my head around how big of a faggot I truly was. Like, I paid 50 fucking dollars for a t-shirt with a pink donut on it. What does that say about me?

it's still funny to me how they don't even try to explain Frank Ocean's inclusion in the group, so overtly a Frank's label approaching them and offering money to tell people he's in the group to help his burgeoning career

I was never a fan of them, I was just using this thread as an opportunity to shit on people slightly younger than me.

I circled all the members with talent.

who the shaved head one?

I've gone through worse phases. That's part of growing up. You literally have to accept that shit and get over it. Granted I was never full on autismo, but still, it doesn't make a difference.

That's Matt. He's the producer for The Internet (which Syd does the vocals for)

Sticky Fingaz

I agree with this pic 100%, but Domo is still leagues above everyone else that's not circled.

Right before Goblin dropped was a really cool period to watch. Tyler was growing into an artist and was discovering a ton of shit about himself/his music and he used to answer fan questions everyday online.

They really did feel revolutionary and exciting when they first emerged. The problem was, they totally cashed in with a stupid show and an awful hype album (Goblin).

Earl is a great rapper. But other than that, it just feels like a lot of wasted potential. We wanted more from Tyler, Mike G, Hodgy Beats, and The Internet, but they never really delivered. I follow underground hardcore punk music, but OF is the closer I ever got to experiencing the excitement of the Sex Pistols - they were these irreverent kids who were perfectly reflective of my generation's sensibilities. It was also the first time older generations didn't get it - they were all upset about how kids could listen to those rape jokes, fat jokes, violent humor, etc. Not that rape jokes are okay, but it was what high school kids laughed about, so it crossed that line, which expressed a generational truth.
The problem was, after they went mainstream it all began to seem cheap and shallow. Again, like the Sex Pistols, who were just a fashion victim pop band. But Earl emerged from it, and he is an incredible talent. I guess in a way he's OF's PiL

Piper At The Gates Of Dawn era was their best t b h

No one because everyone has realized that only one person in the group has talent

you know it would've been cool if before the hype fizzled out they did some unique combinations for their songs like Tyler ft. (only) Mike G, or Frank Ocean ft. Domo and Hodgy, but whatever

>It was also the first time older generations didn't get it

you act like Rap music was Simon and Garfunkel before OF came along

frankly their antics outside of music were always cheap and shallow because they were just being kids, they're lucky they were funny enough to get a show with Adult Swim during their hype train

their actual music isn't really as revolutionary or thought provoking as you'd like to think

youre damn right.

That "just being kids" thing was everything, though. Of course people like Necro went way further than they ever did, but they approached it from the angle of teenage humor, and that gave them the reach to have a real cultural impact and resonate with people. To continue with the Sex Pistols comparison, bands like the Electric Eels, The Dictators, and The Velvet Underground were way more transgressive, but they never put it in terms that resonated with a generation and shook things up. I say that as a big VU fan.

are u fucking retarded??? BASED LUCAS!!

resonate in terms of what? that rap can have teenage angst and crude teenage humor too? they spoke to a demographic of rap fans in the late 2010s who skated, wore skinny jeans and were irreverent of the history of Rap but still thought they were clever or at least disrespectful enough to garner attention, nothing more and nothing less. That's why the OF hype train didn't last too long because these teenagers grew out of OF.

*early

>resonate in terms of what? that rock can have teenage angst and crude teenage humor too? they spoke to a demographic of rock fans in the late 1970s who skated, wore skinny jeans and were irreverent of the history of rock but still thought they were clever or at least disrespectful enough to garner attention, nothing more and nothing less. That's why the Sex Pistols hype train didn't last too long because these teenagers grew out of the Sex Pistols.
They expressed a significant truth of the sensibilities of a generation. Yes, it was shallow. But it was also exciting, and it did have a cultural impact.

no it wasn't the sensibilities of a generation, like i said it was a fairly niche albeit somewhat prominent audience.

>fully niche
>somewhat prominent

nigga what?

> niche but prominent
They were huge. Kanye called Tyler's video one of the greatest of all time. Frank Ocean wanted to join the group.

>fairly niche

and yes an audience can be specific but still stand out.

life outside the east and west coast of the United States exist

I grew up in Colorado, where I was at the time. My friend who was maybe most into them lived in Ireland.

Why are there so many of them in the group?

The only ones with talent are Tyler, Earl, and Frank.

They should just kick out the rest.

Was 20-21 when they peaked in 2011-12. Goblin was the balls, I still listen to that every year or so. Saw a couple of fun shows. They were fun for their time but it was kids' music for kids. No more cringey than wearing a Korn hoodie.

Can confirm. Saw a couple of full group shows of theirs in Dublin, tickets were like gold dust. One kid jumped from the balcony of a theater Sid Wilson-style and knocked out three girls below

venice beach is OVER, OP

I do.

>EARLWOLF WHEN

looooool baka

this is the third thread ive seen about them today

me too. i had a pair of vans and i drew upside down crosses, the logo, lyrics etc. all over them just like tyler

ftfy

youtube.com/watch?v=JcHxiWwubnk
yea. its such a nostalgia trip. when i was in middle school i always dreamed that i would have a colorful group of friends like that

It was fun while it lasted but too much weak shit got dropped. Earl came back changed, he matured and got more introspective.

Mellowhype was kind ok because they had some good beats here and there, but Hodgy raps were kinda pointless. Domo is kinda good but though I smoke weed, stoner rap is gets stale real quick.

The Internet is gaining fame.

Mike G and the rest are just whatever.

I can see Odd Future getting back together in some sort of capacity but it's obviouely gonna be a more matured group. I think once they all figure outhpw to work together in their new directions, they can make some great shit.

i met him in LA once. he just gets paid to walk around in Supreme gear nowadays

Earl > Frank > Hodgy > Tyler > Syd

Earl is the only one verifiably still worth paying attention to, though I still hold out for a good Internet album

I think Earl has the most potential but at this point Frank has proven he's a cut above everyone atm.

aw i miss this... i saw earl a couple times and tyler before they got too big and it was a classic time

is no one else seeing this?

Tyler actually gets better with every album, Cherry Bomb was straight pleb filter: it did everything WOLF did better but frontloaded a few abrasive tracks to scare off backpackers like you.

yea i agree. its wayyyyy better than people gave it credit for

I wonder how she can still smile after her infant child was killed.

???

Piper Perri's infant child was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend (I think it was her ex-boyfriend, might be husband).

Every single on you faggots have slept on Mike G.
No Idols by Domo and Alchemist was pretty good.

you didnt circle mike g and you circled syd and earl

November wonder mu is shit, a bunch of high school fags who liked odd future are here

this was a good tape. so much nostalgia

Besides frank, they're all ass and their fans became XXXtentacleporn fans

kek, reminded me of this.

Why self-release nostalgia,ULTRA. instead of making it an album?

That's rough, buddy.

Me kindA

Odd Future for life my nigga

i still bealive that Tyler one day will drop a real Hip-Hop classic

>Yeah thats WOLF

it can do better, i know he can, Cherry Bomb its a proof of that

Oh btw
