I think he means something like "truth is one". It doesn't differ. Truth is truth wherever you go. World is spinning, there is gravity, evolution is real, people are equal, democracy is the best way no matter where you are. You completely missed the point. A "want" and a "belief" don't need to go hand in hand for conflict to start. What black magic man is saying is that conflicts are started because of ideological reasons, which isn't always the case. They can start purely because one side wants something, they don't have to believe they're right or "true".
