Pharmakon

1/4th of Sonic Youth

Gazelle twin

Massively underrated, you're welcome

I can imagine everyone disagrees, but I really think Joanna Newsome is talented and good as hell. Her lyrics are kinda annoying and too whimsical, and the longs are long as shit, but what other female pop-ish act sings that well and plays an instrument, let alone something as hard to play as the harp?

Nico, duh. Also Molly Drake maybe, but she also made cheesy fucking love songs as well. Marika Hackman maybe. Joanna Newsom has an interesting sound.

how about Aimee Man, shes pretty good

Gillian Welch

I'm sorry but Kim does love songs although they're very strange

Alison Wonderland

Chelsea Wolfe definitely. Start with Apokalypsis.

Madonna is unironically far superior to the special snowflake memes Sup Forums pretends are any good like AC and can write songs about more than one subject unlike Bjork.

PJ Harvey

If anyone disagrees it's because she's too famous on here and people actually care what others on here think...even though this board is anonymous..pretty stupid huh? :)

This. Only More Adventurous was the best Rilo Kiley album.

Is it sexist to suggest that women are (and I will concede that they are) under-represented in music because they're just not as good, or is it definitely due to patriarchy?
