Shit, record stores would probably mean you're 3rd world. They really aren't that good for this anyway.

RYM aoty lists
Local shows

I usually just take the artists I have now and look at related acts on Allmusic.com or watch youtube reviews.

I don't really mess with rym, the Sup Forums approved albums because a list seems like homework nor do i read p4k stuff because their writing is pretty shitty, way too much purple prose, its annoying as fuck because its meant to draw attention to the writing, not necessarily to pinpoint the merits of an album.

yeah YouTube and Spotify recs are surprisingly good

Well do you have any good playlists on spotify? Cause even if i find something good then it's always some shitty pleb indie in it.

the internet

>YouTube recs are surprisingly good

Please kill yourself mu-drone pleb.

It really depends on what sub you visit. Some are complete trash, others are quite good.

If you don't know where to look, sure.

dick around on Sup Forums until I find something I like and then just look at all of the associated acts

Pandora, Spotify weekly playlist, YouTube and last FM

I found Clever Girl that way. So it is helpful sometimes.

I'd recommend you some books on music but you probably dont read because you're a dumb frogposter

Youtube is indeed a good tool for that, last.fm and bandcamp are great too, and get better the more you use them.

There's a satellite radio station I listen to a lot, that plays a really diverse mix of music, including some really obscure stuff. They play famous hits and what not too, both old and new, but I've also found stuff through it that seems to be super obscure as far as I can tell. Shit like this.
youtube.com/watch?v=KuXgrG0hW4U

Hell, I found out about my favorite album of all time from a live session the band did on the station, and it's decently obscure too.

The station is The Loft if anyone's interested.
