webms pls

the shat on the fans and then shat on anyone that had reservations towards it

you cant antagonize so many people

manbabies ruin everything

The director and the tone of """""comedy""""" he was aiming for.

You have a medium where humor is mainly visual, not about telling funny jokes, and you stage the comedy as a fucking improv? Of course when that happens, everything else comes tumbling down: since you are letting a bunch of narcissists (actors, not women) loose, you cannot light a scene properly, so everything looks flat, and you cannot edit that scene because you filmed it like a fucking play.

The director is to blame.

Budget too high
Fieg has no spine and can't control his actors (leading to most of them doing terrible improv every scene).
Main Characters were annoying/unfunny/uninteresting
The script/story was terrible.
Transitions were awkward and spastic
The pacing was way too fast with quiet/slow moments to breath.
Not so subtle advertisement.
Terrible action scene at the end
Terrible finale
Effects look like shit (like Scooby doo)
Not enough ghostbusting
Killing ghosts
Male characters are either jerks or dumb
Calling fans and others sexist for not liking a dogshit movie
Sequel bait for Gozer even though they wasted CHOOSE YOUR FORM here

*no with quiet/slow moments to breath.

Did they seriously not even include a hot chick? It's just a fat chick, two average looking women and a spook?

> Character limit exceeded.

Sorry, I tried.

edit: and apparently a nu male as well

reactionary manchildren hating the mere idea of women having the same opportunities and success as men

A quicker answer would be "what whent right?"

The answer would be, not much at all!

i don't know anything about ghostbusters
should i go watch it?

/poltv/ got obsessed over a shitty remake

Honestly, I'm not a misogynist and I think 3 out of the 4 women are funny.
This movie was let down by whoever wrote it. It's a boring piece of shit.

yes, go watch it

people, specially on Sup Forums hating on it is a meme

>"what whent right?"
The only thing I could praise GB2016 for is that it rushes through it's story and snaps to each scene that's it feels over quicker than having it slow to a complete halt while Feig let's the cast try to one up each other.

Bad cast chemistry, shitty marketing, and an autogynephile director.

>They made the colored the driver

Delicious racism. Seriously though she was the best part of the movie Hemsworth's character was offensive on several levels and 99% of the jokes fell flat for every other character. I'd still fuck the shit out of le kooky blonde lesbian though.

yes because of bill murray, its better when you are a kid because of your imagination. Just like Jusarrsic Park was the shit when you were a kid and you still like it because nostoglica

Oh look man babies have congregated to display their hate of the women who reject them.
Ghostbusters was a critic and financial success and will have a shared universe with 21 Jump street, looks like once more you losers have been proven wrong.

It wasn't as bad as everyone said it was going to be but it was pretty bad. The villain being an /r9k/ permavirgin was pretty true to life. I just wish they would have cut down on the man hating lines, they felt shoehorned in and unnecessary.

It surprises me that anyone can defend the movie at all. It's objectively shit on a fundamental level as a movie. The story only exists to loosely tie together a bunch of barely related scenes of which you could could arrange in pretty much any order and it wouldn't make a difference plot wise. Pretty much every scene is just characters talking and talking, then something happens. There's no tension or real story progression. It's like everything int he movie happens over the course of a few days. They don't even capture any ghosts except for the one they released and they destroy the rest somehow because apparently they can kill ghosts now. If they make a sequel, would they even make them trap the ghosts anymore when they don't need to?

Things happen in the movie like them releasing the ghost and accidentally killing the skeptic guy and it doesn't bother them that they just murdered someone but also let a ghost loose which are completely forgotten about. Also granted that Kevin is supposed to be an idiot, but it's also very contrived that he just happened to be outside the window suddenly complaining about wanting to be a Ghostbuster before he gets possessed. When Rowan possesses McCarthy's character, why does he immediately reveal himself by destroying their equipment? Maybe because he's an idiot, I dunno, but he could've tried to conceal himself for a while and then sabotage them when they weren't in the freaking room looking right at him!

You can seriously go on and on about everything wrong with the movie. I can't wait for someone to really dissect this movie from inside out and show everyone just how shitty it is.

I'm rewatching the original and comparing them.

Looks like the writers of the female ghostbusters just sort of kind of skimmed through the original without paying much attention. Feig completely misunderstands what made the movie funny, he probably saw the scene with Slimer and thought to himself "bingo, that's it! that's the essence of Ghostbusters right there!" Even then he just looked at the scene and instead of laughing at the riffs between an enthusiastic Aykroyd and annoyed Murray, he thinks the goofy antics of Slimer are what makes the whole thing work.

Murray could have had a pie thrown in his face for all the difference it would have made.

Even the cartoon show ghostbusters is more sophisticated than this new abomination. The female one is just weak, SNL-tier comedy, the kind people who watched David Letterman find funny.

Goofy badly timed garbage, no suspense no menace no back and forth between the characters, the sidekick character played by Hemsworth is so offensively stupid it becomes unfunny, fast.

This movie is more about Paul Feig's anti-male psychosis than about anything else.

It's as funny as your feminist, cat-lady aunt trying to tell jokes.

Cartoon Ghostbusters is close to as good as the movies were for the first 90 or so episodes and Janine is a fucking badass who doesn't take any shit in that too. I don't understand the whole deal with making her male counterpart an actual retarded person in the movie unless it was just out of being assruptured at men as a whole. One of many very poor choices made by Feig who seems like a total cunt.

I have a problem with reverse discrimination and racism being force-fed- not with genuinely funny, or, talented women.
Fuck off you schill

>It wasn't as bad as everyone said it was going to be but it was pretty bad
It was a mess, user.

It wasn't even technically competent. It's like the film is hacked to pieces with scenes just ending halfway through and cutting into the middle other scenes.

I guess that's what happens when you let your cast run hog wild and have to cobble the movie together in editing

You're all laughing now but when Hillary gets elected, this will be mandatory viewing. Police will come to your house and force you and your family to watch it, and if you misogynists even THINK about not laughing hysterically through this comedy roller coaster ride of modern fun, they will cattle prod you in the ribs until you do.

I agree with everything you said, but the way people were talking I thought it was going to be Sharknado: Feminism edition. It was one tiny notch above that mostly because of Leslie Jones performance.

Nothing went wrong
After this thing flops no one will produce such garbage again
Only pure, refined kino for us now
Also Donald J. Trump will be next POTUS and make America great again

It's a Adam Sandler level comedy. And not old Adam Sander, Pixels Adam Sandler

Relied too heavily on imagery and iconography from the first movie, annoying fans of the original and confusing audiences as to whether it was a sequel or prequel.

Most remakes, shitty as they are, do something to differentiate themselves. Like, RoboCop has a different look and a different logo and different motivations. By comparison, Ghostbusters:
>Same title font and treatment
>Exact same logo (even GB2 changed it)
>Same slogan
>Extremely similar outfits (beige jumpsuits, backpacks with connected wands)
>Cameos from all original cast
>Slimer returns
>Stay-Puft cameo
>End villain takes the form of giant pudgy white cartoon
>Same theme song (cover using same lyrics, original music used heavily in promotion)

The big deal with ANY remake is to do your own thing - it's okay to call back to the original, but you want to placate fans concerned that you're trying to overwrite their experiences and enjoyment of the original. Just like how it was a mistake in TASM to go back to the Green Goblin so soon.

there were no hot dudes in the original GBs

Gross you can see their peepees and stuff.

There's a scene in this movie where one of the characters flies into the Camera, and it looks exactly like the Webm of Spoony flying.

It's fucking astounding, considering the budget.

Also, the fucking obvious Murray mannequin, and the Ghosts in Rowan's lab where they look like people pounding fiber glass from inside a cardboard box, like a drama school prop.

That, coupled with the technical incompetence, and the shitty acting makes this thing hysterically bad.

I'd argue this is on the level of the Room in terms of filmmaking.

How did the unfunny negro woman in her first film role who looked like she was going to be so annoyingly cringe worthy from the trailer end up being the best part of this pile of steaming dog shit? Was she the only one with any self awareness on set?

fuck... Wiig looks so dead inside in every pic

*first big film role

She had tiny one line parts in smaller movies before this.

Fuck you, Jurassic Park is timeless. Here's your reply.

This, ignoring the female leads. It's a really shitty and unfunny movie. I didn't expect it to be great, but not as bad as it was. This really feels like a Happy Madison production. It wasn't even so bad it was good, it was boring bad.

I can't see why critics could give this movie a pass.

manbabies want manbaby movies. you cannot shit on your own fanbase and expect results.

the poor box office does also prove that girls dont give a shit about ghostbusters either.

Good:
>Kristian Wiig's character
>That scene with the graffiti artist making the Ghostbusters logo
>Retarded Thor
>The fact that the villain is human
>Bill Murray playing Roger Ebert
>Melee Weapons
>Leslie Jones did more than Winston
>Government is more competent.

Bad:
>The blonde one was annoying
>The Ghostbuters technology didn't feel like it was fully theirs
>Low Brow humor
>I don't recall there being an arc
>Sending out that ghost; this kills the Murray
>It wasn't as creative as the original
>Its an absolute reboot, no possible way to be a sequel
>It felt too long
>It didn't need to be made, and we could have gotten Ghostbusters III

>and the Ghosts in Rowan's lab where they look like people pounding fiber glass from inside a cardboard box, like a drama school prop.

I thought that was kind of cool visually even though it doesn't really make sense. Like the barrier between ours and the ghost world is a piece of glass.

Because when she improvs, she's just being snarky, kind of like thge original.

When the other girls improv, they just act like wacky retards, because Feig thinks that's funny,

Now, Jones isn't on the level of any of the original Ghostbusters, but that might be because she's hampered by the Filmmaker.

As for why she's so shitty in the trailer, it's because those are all scripted scenes.

Feig told her to do the Power of Patty line, and it reflects his idiotic sense of humor.

Go watch the original, not this shit.

I didn't like it as a kid and I don't like it now.

Confirmed for bad movie.

Yeah, but I'm talking about how it looked like a highschool play.

It looked like shit, especially for a movie with such a gigantic budget

There are ways to do good all-female scenes, you know

It wasn't funny

Good:
>Wrong
>Wrong
>Meh
>Wrong
>Wrong
>Wrong
>Not an actual point
>Wrong

Confirmed for shit kid and worse adult.

Lesbian porn is like a comic strip without a punchline

>man makes dinosaur island
>dinosaurs are hard to control
>island gets shut down

really makes you think...

>Kid is born an asshole
>Doesn't have friends
>Ends up being a contrarian faggot on the internet

Really makes you think...

Also stop trying to play this game with me I'm already doing it in a LOTR thread as we speak and I'm much better at it than you are.

>Kristian Wiig's character
She really lacked any kind of personality especially for her role and being this version's Venkman.

>That scene with the graffiti artist making the Ghostbusters logo

That scene was really contrived. Like who gives a shit where they got the logo from least of all some punk ass street artist?

>Government is more competent.
In the first movie the government eventually sees that the Ghostbusters are real and works with them. In this movie even though the government knows the ghostbusters are real, they keep disavowing them for no reason at all.

It's literately handjobs.

No wonder Lesbians are so angry, Lesbian sex is shit.

Except none of those things are true. Kindly fuck off to your other "BUT MUH CRITICAL CONSENSUS" thread.

They attempted to reboot a franchise that wasn't huge to begin with; let alone the fact that the last movie was made in 1989.

And using all women and forcing the original actors into shitty cameos didn't help.

Lets be honest, at least two out of three of those things I posted are right.

Still not good enough. Practice on your own offline. Like jerking off you only get good at trolling through practicing alone.

Mah nigga!

Donald J. Trump will be the next POTUS.

People don't want false promises or another four years that ice queen Hilary Clinton running the show.

see
>Kindly fuck off to your other "BUT MUH CRITICAL CONSENSUS" thread.

Donald J. Trump will make lesbian sex great again

McCarthy reacts to Wiig's disbelief by playing the evp recording.
Wiig reacts to Murray's disbelief by opening the trap.
In a better film these scenes would mirror and serve character development.
The delivery man's dual sport motorcycle is destroyed and later Hemsworth appears with a similar dual sport motorcycle. Why? If it had served to escalate on the previous scenario with the delivery man or contrasted in having a larger sports motorcycle there would have been progression.
On the large scale the movie shoehorns in financial support from the government as a resolution to previously established financial problems but there was never any urgency or severity to those problems so there is no relief of tension. The career and financial aspect relies more on this having been established in the original film, as does so much of this movie. Much of the new Ghostbusters serves to follow the beats of the original but does not exist independently in its own movie.

In the end, the ending goes on and on with a series of uneven anti-climaxes where the rules of the movies own universe are contradicted and convoluted continuously.

The New York skyline in shoehorned in at the end of the film which may have been meaningful if this had been a visual touchstone throughout the film.

Instead you have a pointless dance scene to an El Debarge track which sets up one joke that falls flat.

Also, fucking Andy Garcia ruins the third installment of another trilogy worse than he did in The Godfather III.

>Again

Was it every really good or exciting to begin with?

Personally, I think it's boring since they meet at bars, fuck the first night, move in with each other and then break up after a month or two.

Plus they're lesbians so they won't fuck me and I'd get bored watching them.

IF they invited me to join in, I'd say "Fuck".

I can hardly please one woman let alone two.

Reminder that this is the only good thing in this movie.

i wanna fuck that lesbian

...

Literally the worst scene in film history.

>honest trailer
when?

Wrong

That's not a TS user, that's CAM

...

Some Sony email leaks with first drafts shows clearly, Feig had something similar like Filmation Ghostbusters in mind.

I bet he only watched the ghostbusters and real ghostbuster last seasons with slimer
And made it into the movie rather than watching the original 2.
And i bet noone in Sony watched them either so didnt knew what Feig wrote wasnt the origin.
And since not much time left and suchhard work he and his writer bend their idea so it resambles something like gb84.

All these human like ghosts? that scoby doo like filmation ghostbusters, the ghost killing zapping?
If it isnt clear Feig was on his way to make a filmation ghostbusters.

Isnt this

More like this than the firehouse?

I bet in the first half of their developing time they went for chinese hq
Than someone said
>wasnt it a firhouse?
But had all was on its way that they tried to save their asses and shoved it in like they have to achieve it first.

How could Sony spend $144 million and have such poor editing?

2/3rds of the movie felt like a bunch of scenes were glued together with no regard for natural transitions. It was jarring as fuck.

Its just a halloween prop.
Made for these haunted house. some lcd screen inside a picture frame.
Go on youtube search for halloween or haunted house con.

Feels good to see this abomination fail on every level. Get over yourselves feminazis and manginas. You ain't interesting, can't carry a movie or anything else and always end up failing.

I'm laughing my manly ass off. Suck my fatty.

Its horrifying
This kinda makes sense.
Now i understand all these angry extreme-no-man lesbians, which even dont want to use strap ons or so because its to phallic
Guess thats why the ones not hating on men as competition and using strap-ons are not angry all the time.

Love how when leslie got trolled on Twitter none of her co-stars did nothing to help

find a flaw

McCarthy
But thats because i dint like her roles.
She kinda plays one role trough every film with little variations.

Harold Ramis is unironically a ghost now.

At least Chris was smart enough to stay out of the drama.

>Ramis

I have bad news user.

...

Is this the go to excuse for all failures now? You are a part of the problem my friend.

It was a reboot when it should have been a passing-the-torch type sequel.

the cast

Where were the Harold and Dan cameos?

>Is this money really worth to do this movie?

They cast women in a reboot of a loved classic instead of coming up with their own shit.

Ramis was too busy being dead to make a true cameo (there's a bust of his head in the university, and his son, Daniel, also makes a cameo as one of the people at the concert). Dan Aykroyd was the cab driver.

Thanks senpai.

>poorly casted (4 ugly women - that'll turn out well)
>poor script (not funny, awkward, quizzical)
>bad set direction (clutter all over the fucking place)
>poor plot (so fucking boring, no one cares)
>poor renovation of old themes (feels like a tired 80s movie you see on cable -- inb4 "it was intentional")
>obnoxious marketing
>someone paid the reviewers off also

I have a question. What the fuck was that music at the concert and do people actually listen to shit like that now or was it just a "joke"?

Literally everything. It might have worked if it tried to be subtler and a least a little emphasis on scaring the audience like the first two. Instead it was like the Scary Movie series with unfunny comediennes. Just a huge piece of shit. I blame the director, the studio, the business around it, the actors, the producers, the """""""""screenwriters""""""""" and everyone connected to it.

Finishing watching it. Thor was good, blonde level too. Kristen looks super hot with a white wiig. McCarthy wasn't funny at all.

>In this movie even though the government knows the ghostbusters are real, they keep disavowing them for no reason at all.
now i'll be honest and admit i haven't actually seen the movie but i'm guessing that's a holdover from the original Feig pitch where secretly the Ghostbusters worked for the government while publicly the government disavows them and insults them at every opportunity

>critic success

I'd call it mixed reviews, look some other place then the manipulative rotten tomatoes.

Plus most of the critics are just giving it good reviews be user they need to push their agenda, most don't even try to explain why it's good, outside of "women are funny too."

>finial success

Are you stupid? It's bombing really bad right now.

Also could you try and explain why the movie is good without using ad hominems and just pointing to critics and saying "if critics said its good, then if must be good." I know this is b8 but come on.
