Is it really as bad as everybody says?

Is it really as bad as everybody says?

Only plebs prefer the first season.

It's actually pretty good, but it has no relation to the first season and no spooky occult stuff, plus having four main characters was a mistake because you don't get enough focus on each one. But if you liked season one as a detective story then you'll like season two.

Honestly it ain't bad, there is some quality moments littered through out but it lacks focus and was clearly rushed out the gate. If they'd just given Pizzalotto more time to write it and tighten it up I think it could have been just as great as 1.

Though that said I never bought Vaughn as a mobster. Can't tell if its due to his acting or because he had by far the worst dialogue in the season. Also I missed the creeping sense of dread and overall atmosphere.

>casper knew this

Only plebs like season 2

I was kinda liking it but I was also in a pretty busy moment in my life and it was all so disconnected that I eventually dropped it because I was confused for most of it.

I might get back to it eventually.

It's worse

It's shit compared to the first season, but then again everything on TV is by comparison, it's pretty good on it's own, but the plot is very stretched and the characters are very empty due to there being 4 of them for one season.

I can't say there was anything terrible about it, but it just didn't draw me in the way season 1 did from the very first episode. During an episode I paused it to go do something else, forgot about it, then when I saw it again I realized I had no interest in finishing, and that was that.

>A wise man once said don't count your chickens before they hatch.. Well what if the chicken comes before the egg? That's the thing, Ray. That casino was my egg, and I just came all over the chicken. Now I'm crossing the road. Caspere knew this.

>Well what if the chicken comes before the egg?

It doesn't, eggs have existed since the earliest multicellular animals.

Sup Forums, ultimate contrarian board

Tell that to Zod's snapped neck

It really liked the California atmosphere it had. Sure it wasn't as distinct as season ones bayou dusty mason, but if you are familiar with LA county I think it captures it well. The music was good too. Velcoro was cool. Writing sucked, but overall I enjoyed the ride.

Given more time Pizza could've rewritten it and made it just as good as S1

Yes. It's a fucking shame because excluding Vaughn the casting is good. Sadly Pizzolatto with Macarronni is a hack, the story is shit, the directing is shit and the photography it's sad compared to the first season.

No, it's worse.

Even if Rachel was my waifu I wouldn't endure this shit for her.

>It really liked the California atmosphere
What fucking atmosphere? Season 2 felt like law & order: LA.

a man was cucked

Why do people hate Vaughn in this? I thought he was pretty great, albeit he had some terrible dialogue but that's not his fault.

which is quite a shame too. Season 2 killed the series. I was looking forward to new casts and locations every season, and in a perfect world, there would be a subtle overarching plot.

There MIGHT be a season 3. Pizza has Matt on board to revive his role as Rust. Who knows if it'll turn in to anything. In any case, Pizza's a guy to keep an eye on.

Me too ;_;

>Is it bad?
>No Mammarios

Question answers itself.

>you want a good son but you got the fat pussy

I heard there was talks. Not really holding my breath though. It could be cool, but I feel the return of Rust might be a little forced. Im for it though.

No. It has problems but its solid.

I laughed inappropriately too many times in the first two episodes and gave it up.

Eh.. the redwoods. the dreary surreal nightclub with the lady singing sad songs and Vince and Velcoro stare at each other drinking expensive scotch. the aerial shots of the city showing it as this grey cold industrial machine. the coastal highway, that touch of 60's Mason hippy cali, the illuminati orgy with the disney soundtrack. it worked for me.

does the second season have those kind of spooky, occult vibes that the first season had? Like Carcossa and all that stuff

The story was far too convoluted and Paul was a useless character. Should've just been Ray and Ani with bits of Vince.

No, nothing like that. It was my biggest disappointment with it tbqh

It had problems, but it explored more interesting themes than the first.

>more interesting themes
>gay self-hatred and midlife ennui are more interesting than a literal cult of child raping lunatics

Mostly miss frankposting more than the show desu

>Is it really as bad as everybody says?
the world isn't Sup Forums, if everybody says something sucks it usually sucks you fucking idiot
