EPOTYSF

thank you so much user! I can't listen rn but Man of Oil last night was one of the prettiest anco songs ive heard in a long time so im tremendously excited

THANK YOU HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND

Holy fuck this is so good

thank you so much, i've been waiting to hear this kind of music from them for years, this really makes me happy

Could you post the ones from download link?

...

I haven't heard this in full yet but if you want some material from this year which I figure will be similar in sound, check these out:

Group Doueh & Cheveu - Dakhla Sahara Session
Shackleton & Vengeance Tenfold - Sferic Ghost Transmits
Avec le Soleil sortant de sa bouche - Pas pire pop, I Love You So Much
Various Artists - Miracles Steps (fourth world compilation)
Oto Hiax - Oto Hiax
all these releases seek to introduce elements of the nature recordings into music, or fuse trad folk and rock. All great releases from this year, probably in the vein of Meeting of the Waters.

I thought they fixed dl links already

why does he suddenly sing like conor oberst

Thanks for the recs user! I love shackleton so I'll check out those releases for sure. Did you listen to the radio mix they did where they premiered man of oil? Some great artists that influenced meeting of the waters sound

thanks a lot mang

No I did not hear the radio mix, though I have been searching for a rip of it. Do you remember any artists they included?

Here's the tracklist for Geo's mix:

Arthur Verocai - Caboclo
Marconi Notaro - Ah Vida Avida
Climax Golden Twins - Chopstick Chopstick (excerpt)
Marinho Castellar - Pedra
Piccinelli, Gales, & Maioli - Amazonia 6891 (excerpt)
Os Mutantes - O Relogio
Luc Ferrari - Presque Rien No.2 B (excerpt)
Ariel Kalma - Forest Ballad
Kemuli String Band - Kemuli
Nelson Angelo E Joyce - Comunhão
Francois Bayle - La Fleur Future (excerpt)

Definitley will be stuff in there you would dig!

The third-most recent post on the band's instagram has a tracklist of everything that was played

I've got 3 record stores within a 10 minute drive and none of them had this.

just got home with some new purchases

did you buy two of the Anco EP or is that just an insert or something?

no that's just the insert

Does dl link work for you?

Yeah my local one didn't have it. Although they opened up 2 hours early and I didn't know. But it's all cool because I picked up an olatunji record instead

Oh man, thanks guys. I've been discovering a lot of cool music through the band for years. They always have interesting things to share.

nope it does not seem to be working. "This code is not active yet, please come back later."

Anyone know if this is getting another release, and if so what the details are on it?
It's on the "RSD first" part of the list on the website, so is this just a first pressing or will it be a RSD vinyl + later download sort of deal?

Geo seems to love Brazil

Probably just the first pressing. Prospect Hummer was a RSD2015 exlusive but you can find them everywhere now.

This is the best shit they've dropped since MPP

i love this so much :)

>these samples and sounds
geo confirmed for best member

WHEN WILL GEO DROP A SOLO ALBUM FUCK HE'S GOOD

So what's the opposite of a burrito hitting your windshield?

Best since Fall Be Kind, maybe even MPP

Catching a delicious burrito out of the air and eating it.

I think this is very fucking good and we are not talking enough about it

this is so good

This was soooo damn great oh gmoad

So is it confirmed that Panda is the bad influence on nu-anco? This and Deak's album last year are fucking fantastic

i think it's less panda himself and more the fact that panda is so distant and far removed from the rest of the band

both literally in that he's on another continent
and figuratively in a way that i'm not 100% certain of yet

Yeah that makes sense. I still like his solo stuff but collective albums with him don't seem to work as of recently

A blade of grass gently caressing your chin

>but i left it as Side A and Side B
ah fuck dude why though?
Thanks still but that kills my autism

I highly disagree with this statement. Both ODDSAC and TTG did the ambient collage with minimal song structure thing way more polished and infinitely better. Avey's guitar progressions and playing on this were very, very basic. That isn't to say it's bad, by no means do I mean that. I just think ODDSAC and TTG take their ambient style to it's peak. While MOTW is DEFINITELY very reminiscent of TTG, it does feel like it's lacking in actual musicality even during Avey's guitar playing and singing. Perhaps that was the point...

I just really want my MP3 download to work dammit, I have a feeling this will sound a lot different with higher quality. I know there is a lot of low and high end frequency shit going on in this.

The songs on this remind me of stuff like:
>Darkness from TTG
>Call Home (Buy Grapes) from the Keep EP
>Jailhouse from the Keep EP
>Foetus No Man from Pullhair Rubeye
>Must be Treeman, can't recall what release it's from, but there is definitely a lot of sound warping and distortion that closely resembles it on MOTW

As far as song writing and musicality with ambient backing though, I got to say, Deakin killed it with Sleep Cycles. The two are comparable in a sense but I've really grown to love Deakin's recent works, especially Harpy (Red/Blue) and Golden Chords. The guy needs to seriously write more folky tunes, he's phenomenal at it.

it's record store day

What I want is a Deak & Geo album, sort of a counterpart to Sung Tongs.

>the background keyboard in Blue Noses that isn't in the same key as Avey's guitar and singing
YES

Possibly the fact he has kids and a wife and lives in a completely different culture now in Portugal. I think Panda is being more influenced by the dance sound of Portuguese clubs or something. He's been doing a lot more electronic stuff lately, really grooving. I don't know that it's HIM holding the band back though. I think the band as a whole just wanted to toy around with the ideas from Painting With. I think this is a pretty good indicator that they're wanting to go back to live instrumentation a bit more stripped down with their next album possibly. Especially after seeing how well received this will be, maybe it will encourage them to do more stuff like it.

the upside down )

a colony of insects slowly devouring a burrito from the inside out

You are now realizing Geo and Deak are the true geniuses behind AnCo and Panda and Avey have been holding them back

A lot of aveys stuff is great, guess that means it's just panda (but I do like pandas solo work)

Nah Panda Bear can do no wrong ever since Person Pitch dropped. Still one of my favorite albums.
THANK YOU, OP! A girl I was seeing pretty much blew me off so this made my shitty day somewhat less shitty. Have a good weekend.

>Panda Bear can do no wrong
I don't know, I thought his latest was kinda shit. I definitely prefered CHz & Painting With to it.

are we forgetting what anco is?

they're all geniuses

But Deakin wasn't even part of their most critically acclaimed album.

critics opinions only matter if you're incapable of forming your own tastes even though I still like MPP. Deak is fantastic in his own right.

wrong

tbf you can't really compare something that they wrote 17 years ago with completely different experiences and perspectives on life to current projects

3.7

I'm very capable of forming my own opinion, I am just saying their most successful, well known album was without Deakin...I am totally with you on your opinion of music reviews and critics. I don't read them or care about them. But it does drive the popularity and relevancy of an album. Which is why PW and Centipede Hz both got panned.

I'd agree with that. His last good album was Tomboy and even that was miles behind Person Pitch.

holy shit it's like two sails on a sound + campfire songs aka my dream

incredible

anyone have a properly segmented rip?

this

Panda has been doing dancey shit since his s/t though. The original version of Bros even had a housey 4/4 kick drum in it.

>they wrote
>still falling for the "STGSTV is an AnCo album rather than an Avey album" meme

this
Panda Bear was only credited for his drumming
STGSTV is a de facto solo Avey Tare album

this.

Originally Avey wasn't even going to credit Panda but he liked his drumming so much so that he did

>AnCo's best work in years is an EP for a VICE special

also in the way that hes probably the moodiest of all of them

Hey, this is pretty good

ty OP. This is a pretty comfy EP; Sounds like Sleep Cycle had a baby with The second half of Feels.
