WBC thread

if I keep posting this every day people will start to notice it and the gamethreads won't be dead edition

someone tell japan, korea, taiwan, cuba, and venezuela to learn how to use Sup Forums, thanks

news:
Mike Trout (aka best player in the world, aka faggot with no personality) and Bryce Harper unlikely to play for USA. Harper is shit anyway

US preliminary roster includes Noah Syndergaard, Chris Archer, Nolan Arenado, Jake Arrieta, Kris Bryant, Eric Hosmer, Ian Kinsler, Corey Kluber, Jonathan Lucroy, Andrew Miller, Buster Posey, David Price, Max Scherzer, Giancarlo Stanton, Justin Verlander and Christian Yelich. But most of the other preliminary pitchers probably won't either because muh injuries. I can see Archer and Verlander going

Kershaw says he'd like to make himself available for the possible later rounds, which is terrible news for team USA

Puig wants to play for Mexico

fuck off faggot

wow rude as fuck man

also please watch our sport, your little meme islands are really good at it

yay we're in something, did we lose to the dominicans last time or how long ago was it?

yeah, lost to DR in the final in 2013

> Nolan Arenado

I thought he wanted to play for Puerto Rico?

This shit was cash last time my neighbors and us we're booing eachother everytime the opposite team hit a ball

>Mike Trout (aka best player in the world, aka faggot with no personality) and Bryce Harper unlikely to play for USA. Harper is shit anyway

god fucking damn it. Why can't we take this competition seriously?

This isn't an Olympic basketball dream team situation, they might actually lose even if they bring their best

Puerto Rico really shouldn't have its own NT, but whatever. I guess it makes the tournament more fun, since they're a legitimate powerhouse.

what, fuck him
puerto rico has a real sharp infield already with correa, lindor, baez

also isn't kinsler jewish, might play for israel

only because it's just a 1 game elimination, if it was best of 7, the best US team would win 9 times out of 10. No other country has near the same quality pitching

>tfw my Cuban grandpa just got the hang of texting
>tfw he's going to be trash-talking me the whole tournament

Make us a state then faggit

>tfw he won't because Cuba is terrible
all their good players are gone

they're in the shit group so they should at least beat china and australia and go to round 2

>even if MLB players were allowed Cuba would still be shit because their only good pitcher is dead

Are they still butthurt and not calling up the lads that fucked off to play in the MLB?

Pretty stupid.

I'd be scared as fuck to go back to cuba after defecting, it's not north korea but still you can understand them

>someone tell japan, korea, taiwan, cuba, and venezuela to learn how to use Sup Forums, thanks
>cuba, and venezuela
Do you live in a cave?

>puerto rico
>dominican republic
nice, truly a baseball thread, somebody get the fucking asians now

Taiwan to beat China in the final

This. Even my dad was nervous about going back to visit Cuba because he was worried that they'd end up keeping him there. He came here when he was 5, but iirc the Cuban government legally don't legally recognize him or his family as anything but Cuban citizens (they were among those who fled in the 60s, not the ones who Castro said "fine, leave" to in the 80s).

Is Trout really that bland?

Republicans won't let it happen because it would mean 2 more Democratic senators.

probably, it doesn't help that he plays on such an irrelevant team, so you really don't hear about him at all.

>giving either part 2 guaranteed senators
unless they split Cali, "no"

*government legally doesn't

Think I might have had a mini-stroke there.

Yes. He has no personality at all, it's a bit of a let-down tbqh. Harper is annoying, but at least he's a person.

>We are actually sending good players
well just hand us the cup already

You could easily avoid this by making the Pacific Territories a state too. Guam, Samoa, and the Marianas have a combined population of about 300,000, only slightly smaller than Wyoming. They're also incredibly conservative, Guam has an insanely high rate of military service. If you add Micronesia, Palau, and the Marshall Islands (all nominally independent English-speaking "associated states" completely dependent on the US) you have a Republican state without about 600,000 people.

*state with about

>mfw rizzo is going to bring the world cup home after winning the series

>someone tell japan, korea, taiwan, cuba, and venezuela to learn how to use Sup Forums, thanks

Someone tell Hiro how to fix Sup Forums first. We're not getting any new users at this point. He needs to make the post timers longer.

we've always sent good players, not pitchers though

the 2009 roster was pretty fucking good though, we calculated how many wins that team would have in MLB based on their previous year WAR and got something like 130 wins. they still fucked up of course

125 more days

He'll probably only play for us if he plays

Rooting for the "Netherlands" again, Curacao and Aruba island niggers.

most of those pitchers probably won't go
preliminary roster includes 50 players.

some, like Kershaw, might be available for the later rounds

based colonies actually being useful for once

Nah he'll definitely play for Italy again.

>"Obviously, I'd love to play for [the U.S. team], that was my first choice, but they have all the 'mon-stars' on there," Rizzo said during a Cubs Caravan stop. "Italy is a great opportunity. I come from a strong Italian background. It's a pretty cool experience."

>I come from a strong Italian background

Nothing wrong with this. It's not like a Diego Costa situation where he's transparently going with the team he thinks has a better chance of getting a trophy (and money for himself). The US has an insanely deep roster, if Rizzo wants to play for Italy and make all 200 Italian baseball fans happy then more power to him.

He has to be in the running for the US team now though, right?
You can switch in baseball

I'd still take Goldschmidt desu, and Freeman finished hot as fuck. Rizzo can still be DH option also so he'd surely make the roster

Japan probably the early favorite, since they should have no issue getting to the championship round and they have probably one of the best pitchers in the world if they get to the final.
The pool C and D teams are better, especially since Japan won't use their MLB players, but they'll have to duke it out with each other just to get to the final.
