Season 2 is suppose to answer that
Also bump
silent hills
Explain
Would have been better if it wasn't CGI. Or at least a mix of CGI and practical. Seems kinda dumb to me to make a series all about 80s nostalgia and not make the monster practical.
spoiler image asshole, use them
this. missed opportunity desu
Yep.
Too bad.
But I'm guessing by how sketch the CGI was at times that they blew all their budget hiring Winona
Yeah but it doesn't look bad desu
it looks like a shitty Thing prequel ripoff
It was a dude in a suit for some shots, the close ups were all CGI
What could this possibly spoil? You see the monster in literally the first scene.
somebody actually compared it to some monster from D&D, it lived in a different dimension, and would cross over to kidnap things and feed off their spirit or something, but it could only survive in our dimension for like a minute tops.
With that as an explanation, it makes sense that El grounded the monster and prevented it from going back to it's dimension and that's why it died. Dunno why it would take it her to the alternate dimension though.
I'm just guessing it's part of a whole other ecosystem that lives on the other side.
We didn't see much but there's probably lots of other things there.
Maybe some intelligent life.
psychic dread manifested into physical form...
like every steven king monster ever.
SCP-106
Reminds me of an "ivy" from Resident Evil 2 (game)
>it's shit
>Sup Forums still shill it
What the fuck? Just be honest - is it or is it not a piece of crap that rips off from notable media and icons?
Welp, it has some freaky stuff, now I have a reason to watch this.
It's what appears in your bedroom if you fap to futa more than once. If you haven't seen it yet you will.
im not trying to be a dick, because i actually enjoyed this series, but i really wish sci fi and horror series would show at least a little creativity and imagination when it came to creature design. its like, you literally enter a portal to another dimension, and what kind of creature comes out? out of all the incredible possibilities, what do you see? typically , something that looks like a fucking spider, or a slug. im tired of it. in the case of the mist it was lierally spiders, pterodactyls, and land crabs. i mean theyre creatures from another dimension, they should look nothing like anything remotely close to what we have on earth, right?
There's a few different factors when it comes to designing a monster.
Humanoid designs are cheaper and easier to create. Pretty much every animator knows what a person is supposed to look like and how they're supposed to move. On top of that, humans are super finely tuned to know when something is wrong with another person. So if you make something that is vaguely human shaped that moves around kind of like a human, it is easier to make viewers feel uncomfortable because even if we're only seeing tidbits of the creature, we still know something is very wrong with it. Of course I'd love to see a show or movie tackle abstract monsters, but usually the budget isn't there.
Silent hills is about an alternate parallel dimension where monsters similar to this one dwell.
