I miss Zack Snyder

I do not mean this to be a "DC Vs Marvel" or any other kind of post, I mean this from the heart.

Watching the preview for the Justice League movie today, I finally realized my expectations about the DCEU were dependant on Snyder's work. I though Man Of Steel was a relevation in mainstream comic movies, a movie that could finally qualify as one, and even then a movie that stood heads above most released every year. It introduced a new facet to superman, and gave hoim a new meaning as a man with reposibilities he could not handle.

Batman V Superman expanded upon this idea, and gave a better view of the world that Zack Snyder envisioned for these characters. He did not paint these characters how they were in the comics - instead, he portrayed them as they would be if they existed with us, in the real world and brilliantly showed the consequences the actions of such people would bring. He did this with his own voice and in a way that defied the status-quo, not for the sake of defying it but because Zack isn't a part of it. His work defies what is normal in the world today and stays true to his own vision, at whatever expense to him- he does not care. Such a man, I hold, is someone who ought to be respected not only for his views, or work, but for his determination in it. This is what I did not see in the new trailer.

After BvS' "flop", Zack was promptly removed from the next installments of the DCEU because the moneymen thought he was cancer because his movies didn't sell.

The new trailer is rife with new jokes, quips and shows characters that are not larger than life or who take their own work seriously, but characters who are mere caricatures of their own comic book equivalents. This is something Zack would've never done. He respected the characters and understood why they were the way they were. He did not present them as characters who took threats lightly- they were characters who understood the risks and did it anyway, and did it as honestly as they could. Even Alexander Luthor was unbirdled in his villany and the simple character of the prisoner showed an emotional depth and story no marvel or comic book movie character has ever shown. The various references to the major influential works in the world today and the allegories regarding superman made BvS and Man Of Steel movie to behold, to admire, to respect. i see none of this happening for the new movie, because Zack is no longer involved.

I am very sorry to see the DCEU go, but for me, the world stopped when Superman died.

Zack Snyder is dead, long live Zack Snyder.

The DCEU is dead, long live the DCEU.

>implying JL won't be full of rich symbolism and Snyderkino themes because of muh tonal change

>Excalibur-like medieval sequence
>Fishing village sequence

We've known for months the direction JL was going to take, amd I assure you Terrio didn't change the tone because some neckbeards complained on Twitter, it was by design all along.
Chris Terrio explains it.
>At that moment, I thought, “I’m not done with this yet. I want to go back and keep telling the story.” “Batman v Superman” is a bit of an “Empire Strikes Back” or “Two Towers” or any similar middle film in a trilogy. The middle film tends to be the darkest one. I do think from “Man of Steel” through “Justice League,” it is one saga really.

>I expect “Justice League” will be tonally not quite as dark as “Batman v Superman.” From that point of view, I felt compelled to go back and try to lift us and myself into a different tonal place because I think when you write a darker film, sometimes you want to redeem it all a bit.

...

go on, fucker, rationalize the quips.

Fuck off, retard

Having a few quips is fine.

Marvel shit the problem is the quips are often in congruent with what is happening and and more often than not inappropriate in the context of a scene.

not on marvel's level. but it's clear the movies were going to be "normalized" (more like normielized AMIRRITE??) and lighter after BvS since it's conception.
just like MoS, the whole movie, was a literal birth of superman (the imagery so many like to laugh at), BvS was batman's origin story. he had the cape from the beginning, but only in the end of the movie he acted like something resembling a normal batman, before the fight with superman he was just a broken bruce wayne.
so in justice league both were going to be "complete" and then you add the flash, cyborg and aquaman, all of them with more jokey attitudes in almost every incarnation, and WW which already was more playful than the other two in BvS so... the lighter and more normal thing doesn't seems manufactured after BvS, but a natural progression

>Having a few quips is fine.
no.

Protip: Quips=/=humor

>so in justice league both were going to be "complete" and then you add the flash, cyborg and aquaman, all of them with more jokey attitudes in almost every incarnation, and WW which already was more playful than the other two in BvS so... the lighter and more normal thing doesn't seems manufactured after BvS, but a natural progression

It's not a natural progression, quips shouldn't be a part of any movie. And yes, the DCEU is being mass-manufactured now. They rejected so many fucking scrips for WW to fit the market and also fired a couple of directors who were originally in line to direct the movies.

dunno what "quips" are sorry. it was always mass manufactured, and i have no doubts that there will be more marvel humor and that kind of thing but leaving lighthearted jokes aside the tone of the movie was going to lighten up a little already.
WW was a project that didn't exist before the WW movie so selecting script isn't changing a lot.

i know it's scary seeing agendas everywhere but there was no way that WW wouldn't be pro feminism (not in a ghostbusters way) because it would make no sense otherwise.

>Snyder
>Pandering
>Ever

Even if Justice League is not well received, gets a 10% on RT and makes only 500 mill worldwide, Zack will continue doing what he wants. The trailer you saw today was more of an advertisement because it will be slightly playful. That's it.

It's going to be badass. That small clip of flash dodging in his suit is a small preview of how tight the production will be.

I blame Nolan for creating all you faggots who think super hero movies should be more than what they were made to be: popcorn flicks. Honestly it's not the new mythology, it's just another thing the jews invented to make money. I love comics but they're not Shakespeare or Kipling or Hemingway. At least the Marvel films aren't as pretentious.

also, this

snyder just dungivafuk

>ONLY THE MOVIES I LIKE SHOUDL BE GOOD
kys

This

People who think JL will be a quipfest are fucking dumb.

It will be another glorious Snyder Kino, just with some more humour added in because now the context allows for it

Mfw the animated movie will be far superior to the Hollywood version.

Is this bait?

Its sad. He brought something we didnt see in other cape movies. Now Jusice League is just a quipfest.

i actually like the new trailer style youtube.com/watch?v=gglkYMGRYlE 100% going to watch it. hopefully no martha this time

That's what he and his team always intended. If you don't accept that then you're a hypocrite

>He's not involved anymore
He's the director ffs...

>He's the director ffs...
on paper.
