I've been listening their self-titled album a lot. I appreciate it as a pop record that's done in a rock style. That is, they sound like a legit rock band making a pop record. I was hoping their new album would go in a more dynamic rock direction - more metal, or maybe even some 90's ska-punk. But a Thompson Twins, Duran Duran, influenced gag-me-with-a-spoon thing... ehh... I enjoy 80's bubble-gum pop as much as the next guy, but I don't think Paramore are the ones to best recreate that.
