The most pointless PDC television event rears its head again as Glasgow hosts the World Series of Darts Finals. After six exhibitions masquerading as big events in Dubai, China, Japan and Australasia, the eight "stars" of the WSoD are joined by 12 invitees and 4 qualifiers for two days of top tungsten. The afternoon session contains the previously mentioned sixteen while the big names enter in the evening. Last year's final saw Michael van Gerwen claim the title over Peter Wright, and with the World Number 1 the Number 1 seed today, you can be assured he'll try and repeat his incredible European Championship performance last weekend.
On a related note, it is good to see the Ladbrokes back sponsoring darts after they were the mainstay sponsors of the Worlds for so long. It also makes you realise that yes, there are other betting companies than fucking Unibet out there; this is the first European TV tournament since the Matchplay not to be covered by its green and white logo.
Coverage starts at 12:45pm UK time on ITV4 with the evening session from 7:00pm UK time on the same channel.
