are there people that actually think sucking dick is gay? eating pussy is gay because you're litterally slurping down estrogen. and long term relationships have been proven to lower testosterone.

spartans had gay orgies all the time and they were the height of masculinity. you bet they were at least fondling eachothers test producers.

Here's some French for those after it.

Sombres jours ! l'empereur revenait lentement,

Was this random or are you aware that this can be an insult in French? Whatever it might've been, I'll opt to believe that this was butterfingers on your part, and that you never meant to be nether harmful nor demeaning.

Pretty damn good. There's some mistakes showered in there of course, but they're secluded only to some specific sounds, so it's nothing too bad. You can't have learned it this well at school though?
Also you sound very young.

D'où es-tu?

"pd", as p in French is pronounced "pé", and d pronounced "dé", therefore orally reads out "pédé, which is an abbreviation for pédéraste. Which means "flaming faggot".

Anyways sorry for thinking the worst from you bud.

One of the most beautiful paragraphes in French litterature especially hand-picked for my American buddy.

Pretty good actually. The only thing I noticed is that the "ch" in "Heiderauche" and in "Hauche" sound like a "r". The one in "Strauche" was correct.

Oops:

Eh, you can be proud of yourself. I'd heard that adjusting on French sonorities was a bit outside of Germanic's languages grasp but you've exceeded that. Hell even German girls on Erasmus exchange here who have been practicing French for their entire lives haven't quite reached the level you have.
Clap clap. Also clap clap for Norwegian language education. I wish we hadn't wasted so much of your time on a silly and useless language like ours though.

Ye know "post Norweigan" means post something in Norwegian I can try to read, right? A nation of shitposters so ye are.

Here is what I read, it is from song:

Thanks. Most people have the choice between Spanish, German or French. But at my tiny school we only had French. Every language that isn't English is pretty useless, so French is as good a language as any to learn after English.

Here is what I read. It is from the song "Bare ein mann" by Bjorn Eidsvåg.

Kvalitetstid med tusener av temaer
folelsar ska dissekeras med ord
logistikk og utfylling av skjemaer
- gjor me'kje detta i fjor?
det krible i kroppen og svetten renne
det e ein rein refleks
det versta e at ”blodet brenne”
og eg tenke på sex?

Eg e bare ein mann
som gjor så godt han kan
men eg får det'kje te
det e bare sånn det e
eg e bare ein mann
bare ein mann

Read this:

HELL SEGER

Understandable, but definitely with an accent. You seem to have problems with the soft "ch" as in "ich", but I think you know that. "st" in "Dünste", "ist" and "knistert" is not pronounced "scht", "zischt" is "tsischt", you pronounced it as a voiced s.
The first "e" in "gehen" needs to be long, the "i" in "Tritte" is short. All in all, the vowels are mostly close to correct, but slightly off. I think you're getting there.

German is so fucking difficult :

Cringe inducing

read this

Are you the set up to a joke?
>A Pakistan Englishman goes into a voc thread...

The long "e" is more closed. You pronounce "gehen" like "gähen". We actually prounounce "h" :^)
The "i" in "Tritte" needs to be short and more open. "knistert" is not pronounced "knischtert". Your "au" doesn't really include the "u", for example, you pronounce "Strauche" more like "Strache".
You can understand it, but there's definitely an accent.

>German is so fucking difficult
It's kind of amusing how our languages have very similar sets of sounds but still sound very different overall. To be fair, I deliberately picked a more difficult text (it contains many things that foreigners struggle with, especially "ö", "ü", both versions of "ch").

was that supposed to be an insult?

This is from older literature, yes?
vocaroo.com/i/s15kmU90owZD

I did and it turned out quite cringey

vocaroo.com/i/s0vVVW693smy
My god german is so difficult

Scary.

It is, yes. I like that poem because it uses the German language pretty well.
>wimmelt
No dark "l" in German. Pronounce the "l" the same way that you would in "like" or "lift".
>sich
The "ch" is a tad too close to "sh". But that's a common mistake and no great problem.
>Dünste
Similar case, the "ü" is too close to "u".
>Strauche
Is pronounced "Schtrauche". I'm not quite sure whether the "a" is correct, it is wandering a bit towards [æ].
>Tritte
Native English speakers really struggle with "e" at the end of words. You put too much stress on it, it really needs to be the most neutral sound you could possibly make.
>Quellchen
You pronounce the "Qu" as "Kw" (using English spelling), it should be "Kv". The sound that you write as "w" does not exist in German.
>zischt
Pronounced tsischt
>Röhricht
You pronounced it like "Röchicht", needs to be more voice to become an "r".

Intelligible, but with an accent.

vocaroo.com/i/s1PFv9GwLR56 :^)

Cheers for the feedback, yeah except for the ch hard and soft we have the same sounds but the rythm is completely different

i suck at reading poetry and stuff. could post something in normal hochdeutsch?

"ü" is the exact same thing as French "u".
>Strauche
Pronounced "Schtrauche"
>springt, Spalte
same thing, schpringt and Schpalte
>übers
We actually pronounce even those letters at the end of words :^)
>Quellchen
"qu" = "kw", not "k"
>zischt
tsischt

By the kind of mistakes you made, I would guess you did not learn German for a longer time? (They're pretty obvious mistakes, hence my guess). In that case it's surprisingly good. Still heavily accented, but that should probably be no surprise.

Does S in german always sound like "sh" ?
Tb h I never learned german.

vocaroo.com/i/s0YeZe2opKK2

only if it's in front of a T or P like that

In "st" and "sp" when in the beginning of syllables, it's "sch", otherwise not.
Southwestern dialects (Swabian, Swiss German, Alsatian :^) ) always pronounce "st" and "sp" as "scht" and "schp".

>In "st" and "sp" when in the beginning of syllables, it's "sch", otherwise not.
Oh okay, fair enough
>Alsatian

rate my english accent

Thanks. I always get thrown off with "Qu" like "Quelle"

vocaroo.com/i/s10xi5lDNVhT

the original is way scarier

The freely spoken part was perfect, the read-out part almost. The "e" in "stets" and the first "a" in "nachweisbar" need to be long, and there is no dark "l" in German ("Merkel", "Notfall"). The rest was pretty good. Did you learn German for a longer time?

>sich
The "ch" is a bit too close to "sch".
>häkelt
You said "hakelt".
>Quellchen
In English spelling "qu" = "kv". You pronounced "kw", the sound that is written in English as "w" does not exist in German.
>springt
schpringt. Also, you used the English "r".
>Spalte
Schpalte
>über
The "er" needs to be (only a bit) closer to "a".

>könne
You said "künne"
>nicht
You said "nickt". You generally pronounce "ch" as "k"
>schützen
The "ü" is short
>ist
Again, "ist", not "ischt" (assuming you're the same guy as above)
>Notfall
The "a" needs to be short
>zielstrebig
This time, it's zielschtrebig
>wahren
You said "fahren"

Let's give this a try.

Pretty good. "Es ist dies ein Signal", "zielstrebig" and "eigene Haut" were a bit sloppy, otherwise you sound like a Frenchman who has been living in Germany for a while. There is a slight accent, but not the kind that is exhausting to listen to.
