probably just kill yourself

DRUGS

Tbh ive been asking myself this for years, the only answer i come up with everytime is just ending it.

by being fucking awesome ofcourse

if you feel useless you propably are useless and should kill yourself

Dont think about it and go do something productive.

Don't cut yourself

If you cant control how you feel then you should probably graduate middle school first

I have a hobby that is pretty difficult to learn at a high level that allows my imagination to override my feelings of depression.

It can be done almost anywhere.

Hard to take advice like that from someone who hasn't even graduated Elementary School

Realize you're not fucking special and you're not the only one going through shit. You look around and almost everyone else has felt that way and continued life. So if they can do it, the odds are you can too.

>How do you stop yourself from feeling so useless?

1. List the top 10 things you would be doing if you weren't feeling useless, down and depressed.

2. Do them.

(I've done this and it works)

>Realize you're not fucking special and you're not the only one going through shit. You look around and almost everyone else has felt that way and continued life. So if they can do it, the odds are you can too.

This is also called "looking on the bright side", and it actually works

First, accept that there is no inherent meaning to life. "Meaning" is a human construct created by humans for humans.

Next, find a use. Doesn't matter what, just pick something to work towards. Happiness comes from feeling like we have utility; we want to identify problems and fix them. In other words, we want to make things better than the way they were before. You can do this through engineering, therapy, cooking; so long as you have problems to solve and you're capable of solving them (but they're not too easy) you'll be happy.

Finally, think about the day to day running of your affairs and stop thinking about the meaning of life.

Any questions?

This comes from the latest teachings on situational therapy that have shown a ton of promise.

CBT is the one true therapy. Death to all women and their wrong-think, we can replace them with machines easily.

>"Meaning" is a human construct created by humans for humans.

I think it has its roots in religion, it's why they created answers for needless questions they can never answer like "why are we here?", or "why is a rock?"

>CBT is the one true therapy

I think this is the one I was thinking of, not situational therapy. The technique of thinking of all the things I'd be doing (and doing them) helped me when I was going through a long drawn out divorce (we had two kids together, and I ended up being the single dad for awhile)

>wrong-think
Am i missing something?

The problem is that we evolved to survive, and that's it. We solved that problem ages ago - we haven't had a credible threat to human existence for thousands of years, we've transcended the food chain. As such, we don't have any "valid" problems to solve (since the only problems we really care about are eat/drink/sleep/fuck), so we create them ourselves. We have religion because it tells you what problems you should be focusing on and assures you that they are very important.

Useless? Or worthless? If you're feeling useless, accomplish something worthwhile. If you're feeling worthless, so does everyone else.

Is that from Mystic Quest? I haven't thought about that game in a long time.

Well im depressed so i feel useless alot, and drugs, self harm, crying, and sometimes vidya helps. But the best thing is to just suck it the fuck up, some people have a hard time doing that like myself. But hey at least you rich enough to have the interwebz right? So you could be even worse of.
And there is always the option to kill yourself. I'm not to keen on that one though.
TLDR: An Hero

I was being cheeky, but women brains are fundamentally different from man brains. They think differently than we do and assign value in ways that seem strange to us, because their thoughts tend to follow an internal logic that we have a hard time understanding. CBT was designed by a man (like more or less all of psychology), and as such doesn't work as well for women.

Fuck Craig from South Park

What if I have no idea what those things are?

stop being a narcissist and go help somebody who needs it

Think about it. Figure it out. It's what you were built for, unless you're literally retarded.

Start with the basics. Have you eaten? Are you hungry? Sleepy maybe? When was the last time you got laid?

I just ate, slept for like ten hours last night (probably because I'm depressed), haven't been laid in over two years but my dick doesn't work anymore...

Go someplace horrible and try to help people.

>Masturbation.
>Watching YouTube videos about math and science.
>Watching YouTube videos about the latest scientific discoveries.
>Watching the news.
>Watching Trump basically get whatever he wants (if he can do it, so can I). All you do is bully your way to what you want.
>Learning Computer languages to program websites and create programs.
>Take maybe an online class.
>Hit on countless POF chicks and see if any of them will let me fuck them at home after my gf falls asleep.

Your dick doesn't work? Why not?

I don't know but I can't get a boner. I fap a couple times a month but it's still half limp when I do.

That's probably mainly the cause behind your depression. Have you seen a doctor?

Yeah they can't figure out what's wrong with me either. I'm fatigued as fuck constantly too. Liver and thyroid are fine, I don't have diabeetus, no sleep apnea, normal testosterone...

Huh. Tried therapy? Any history of sexual abuse? What was your last relationship like?

Therapy like a shrink? No, it's always seemed like bullshit to me. No sexual abuse but my last relationship was a marriage. Didn't last very long. We really shouldn't have gotten married tbh. We're on friendly terms now though.

Try not being useless?

Kill people

By doing something worthwhile. It doesn't matter what it is, as long as you do it. Write, act, draw, paint, sing, hike a trail, photograph the world you see, work a job, help a friend, feed the needy, etc.

At least half of what you just listed is masturbatory and pointless.

Of course it's bullshit, but you have to go through the motions, then you can kill yourself and nobody can say boo about it.

Since doctors can't find anything physically wrong with you, you probably need therapy, like a shrink. Being tired all the time + unable to get an erection can both be caused by depression, which can in turn be caused by all kinds of shit (this is what the therapist will help you figure out). If you're lucky you just have a chemical imbalance in your brain, which can be solved with pills. If not, you'll need to identify the source of your depression and deal with it. After you do that, you can focus on trying to find a specific purpose for your life. Deal with the big problems before you deal with the small ones.

All of existence is masturbatory and pointless m8. You just have to pick the form of masturbation you like best.

Stop being useless

Set small, measurable goals for yourself and complete them. Increase the goals as you move along. Seeing yourself completing these goals will slowly but surely increase your sense of self-efficacy and in turn increase your self-esteem.

Well shit, good point.

Nofap, too much porn destroys your brain.

>maturbatory

Only if don't get paid for it. Some people like to put their art out there just for others to appreciate it. I get paid for mine, and that's on top of my 9-5.

Do your patients know you're a Sup Forumstard? This would not exactly inspire confidence if I were one of them.

Alcohol and weed.

I agree, even doing something small can help.

Why not? There are a lot of therapists out there that have never seen the range of human mindscapes out there. Someone who is a regular on Sup Forums would have a better understanding of mental oddities.

Do you have a link to the catalogue of the last show you were in?

CBT does have the most evidence behind it, and it pretty much the go to therapy for a wide variety of problems and issues. But there are other theapies that are gaining grounds in terms of being "evdence based" practices.

Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Brief Intervention are two that are commonly taught with CBT nowadays. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (an offshoot of CBT in a way) is also pretty useful. I also like using family systems therapy and parts work in certain situations.

t. therapistfag again

Huh, that's an interesting point actually.

do something productive

lol, it's not something I readily disclose - unless my client mentions it in the first place, which has happened.

I've always found Sup Forums fascinating from a psychological perspective. The things people say when anonymous are intriguing, and it's fun for me to ponder how much is true and how much is bowing off steam.

This too. You tend to see a lot of personality disorders on here - as well as OCD, depression, anxiety, and yes, literal autism spectrum disorder.

Understanding that when I say 'art' I am including all the arts. I do acting.

Small parts, background, whatever. Show listed above got me two episodes as different background characters.

If I were a literal autist, how would I know?

Explain Motivational Interviewing to me, therapyfag. Also, you don't need to sign your posts - if you know what you're talking about the truth of your information/arguments should stand on their own merit, how you label yourself isn't important.

Go camping in the woods and take lsd

You can't be useless if you don't exist.

If you're not useless, you're not existing.

...

good idea here, when you start asking yourself existential questions don't stop keep asking them until you reach the real questions you need to ask yourself.

Get screened from a professional.

Motivational Interviewing is a form of therapy that is best used when exploring ambivalence. It uses the stages of change model, and the idea is to help the client explore their uncertainty in making change by moving them along these stages using open-ended questions, affirmation, reflection and summary of the statements they are making. It was first developed in the 80's and used for clients struggling with alcoholism.

I sign my posts to demonstrate that I've been formally educated on the subject. It's pretty easy to just spout BS on this board and look like you know what you're talking about when you don't. Happens all the time. In any event, I could be lying, so i suppose you're right - it's not important. You're still a faggot, though.

I'm actually in uni right now with the aim of becoming a therapist. What made you personally want to be a therapist? Are you satisfied with it?

Depending on the project, could be minimum wage, flat fee (e.g. $600 for 8-12 hours of filming), or union specified hourly. I do have credits on IMDB, but not going to post here.

What's the most famous movie you've appeared in?

I was in "The Last Airbender" The set was amazing. Really disappointed in how it came out.
I was one of the Northern water tribe villagers.

Hey, neat. Did you meet the kid who played Aang? I went to the same martial arts school as him for a while.
