Would you honestly say these 4 albums are the same genre if you weren't told they were all the same genre?

No, I wouldn't. Grunge is just a buzzword.
I would call Nirvana punk rock and the other three hard rock. Some of Soundgarden's stuff I'd even refer to as alternative metal.
Yes, they're all rock.
They're not the same honestly NIrvana is like power pop/punk and alice in chains is sludge/glam but those are the only two bands that matter in the OP pic
Soundgarden's better than all of them
no ur taste a shit SHIT SHIT SHIT
Genres are descriptive, not prescriptive. Two different bands don't have to sound the exact same to be considered the same genre.
Soundgarden is so much better than Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam it's not even funny. Nirvana is still pretty good though.
Nirvana > Soundgarden > Alice in Chains > Pearl Jam
This is objective
What is it with you high school kids and slapping the word objective on everything? It doesn't make you sound any smarter, you know
power pop -> pop rock
heavy rock -> hard cock rock
Now, when you say "hard cock rock"...
Nirvana>Alice In Chains>Soundgarden>My ass cheeks spread out bare on the bed farting the tune of yankee doodle dandee in the pitch of Eddie Vedder>literal shit>Pearl Jam
>heavy rock -> hard cock rock
youtube.com
>he doesn't like hard pounding cock rock
are you gay?
Sorry, I meant to say
rooster
You're far too sensible to be posting here
damn...

the true grunge goat rankings
grunge was a movement out of seattle. Pearl jam and sound garden were alternative rock, alice in chains were metal and Nirvana was punk/noise/indie rock. The media created the label
Move Mudhoney higher
Replace Stone Temple Pilots with Screaming Trees
Nirvana is objectively the best band out of the 4. If you like that gay alternative rock sound then you can go ahead and listen to the other faggots. Soundgarden is good though
2nd tier goats rankings
> L7 > screaming trees > U-men > skin yard > love battery
The Seattle scene is still a real thing. Have you seen this?

Mudhoney>Nirvana>Soundgarden>my grandma on ukulele>queefs>STP
tbf i've heard ur granny on uke and she's pretty good
>"It was STP's 3rd album that had got me hooked, a wizardly mix of glam and post-punk, and I confessed to Scott, as well as the band many times, how wrong I'd been in assessing their native brilliance. And like Bowie can and does, it was Scott's phrasing that pushed his music into a unique, and hard to pin down, aesthetic sonicsphere. Lastly, I'd like to share a thought which though clumsy, I hope would please Scott In Hominum. And that is if you asked me who I truly believed were the great voices of our generation, I'd say it were he, Layne, and Kurt."
she told me to thank you for her :)
Yep, STP definitely last
Layne is essentially Protoman and Kurt is Megaman and Scott Weiland is literally who
>Cornell>Staley>Cobain
Cobang>Staley>Dante from the Devil May Cry series>me>Cornell
nirvana was definitely better than mdhoney
Nirvana is Punk Rock
Pearl Jam is buttrock
Soundgarden is hard rock
Alice in Chains is alternative metal
Yeah I was just being a contrarian lol but Mudhoney is pretty amazing though I think The Jesus LIzard+Scratch Acid is on par with Nirvana like actually. J Mascis is also a bretty good guitar player pretty decent at drums too.
Alice In Chains > Soundgarden > Nirvana > Pearl Jam
This is objective
...
SG grew and experimented more than any other Seattle band.
They explored just about every corner of grunge.
Not to mention being one of the bands that appeared on the Deep Six EP.
Fresh Tendrils is one fo the greatest songs of all time.
