Best produced hip hop album
Best produced hip hop album
But that's not
1. anything beatminerz produced for boot camp cliks first wave of albums (black moon - enta da stage, smif-n-wessun - dah shinin, heltak skeltah - nocturnal, OGC - da storm)
2. prince pauls production of gravediggaz - 6 feet deep
3. basically all first wave wutang albums prod by RZA
4. Any early Dr. Dre records
90's: Illmatic
00's: Madvillainy
10's: TPAB
wasn't intending for my choice to be taken objectively, just opinion sharing thread. I wasn't aware of black moon and haven't listened to much boot camp so thanks for your enlightening comment
Ah i'm just meming, it's a fair opinion black on both sides has impressive production.
If you do want to check out BCC it's worth it for sure though, beatminerz are pretty legendary in the underground NY scene. Here's an example track from each of the 4 albums, maybe start with the album that has the track you like the most out of these? My personal preference goes Heltah Skeltah->Smif n wessun->black moon->o.g.c but that's a bit unorthodox

De La Soul is Dead
A Prince Among Thieves
Liquid Swords & OB4CL
Midnight Maruaders
The Chronic

how is this even a question
Pretty hard to disagree with this
Best production = lo-fi, shitty production IMO. It sounds more organic and nostalgic.

>Best production = lo-fi, shitty production
That seems contradictory.
But anyway, pic related is my vote.
The Bomb Squad were insane. That "Let's Go Crazy" sample that runs throughout "Brothers Gonna Work It Out" is such a ridiculous idea on paper but it just works.
Plus the beats on this thing...man.
Very solid list
fantastic damage>madvillainy in terms of production
MBDTF Production tho... i think it's head to head with TPAB
stop. tpab's production is a snoozer and doesn't showcase the best hip hop has to offer.
the best live-band rap album, and maybe the best-produced West Coast record ever.
OP is right along with pic related
Dj Quik is so incredibly underrated
