This is mostly what i've been listening to this past week, would appreciate some recs.
What are your favourite albums from 2016, Sup Forums?
Some of this I like, some of this I hate, but I can tell that pop is your thing and you own it so I have nothing but props to give to you.
I've heard literally zero of these albums
I love Smiley Smile
Entertainment is one of my all time favorites
Great taste, TVU&N, Blue, and DC are all brilliant.
Nice mix of stuff I love, stuff I don't, and stuff I haven't heard. I feel like any conversation about music with you would be pretty productive.
A Sunny Day in Glasgow - Sea When Absent
Julia Holter - Loud City Song
Spoon - They Want My Soul
Big Star - Radio City
New Pornographers - Twin Cinema
Love - Da Capo
Chromatics - Kill For Love
The Byrds - Fifth Dimension
Considering how popular Lana is, OP is still infinitely more patrician than the average fan
I've only ever heard that PiL album (which is great). What is this stuff? I feel like I should look into some of these but I'm not sure which.
The Men - Open Your Heart
REM - Murmur
Replacements - Tim
Wire - Chairs Missing
Cocteau Twins - Treasure
Yo La Tengo - Painful
Someone could easily give you shit for listening to Bob Marley's greatest hits, "hurr durr 420" etc., but I think his hits are among the greatest pop songs ever written.
Donovan - Sunshine Superman
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Deja Vu
Galaxie 500 - On Fire
John Cale - Paris 1919
Scott Walker - Scott 4
Jim O'Rourke - Insignificance
>kolya - kolya
Thanks, this is nice stuff

Same for you. For some reason i haven't listened to Wire before, I'll listen to it today. What is your opinion on the new Slowdive comeback album btw?
I actually haven't downloaded the new Slowdive yet, but I did hear two of the singles they put out, and enjoyed them very much.
Wire's first three records are utterly brilliant, each for its own reason. I've been listening to them for several years and have barely touched any of their other work, because I never get tired of the first three. If you start with Pink Flag, keep in mind that the next two scrap the whole minimalist thing.
