so i just turned 40 a few weeks ago, and it's hitting me that while i'm not exactly old, i know my youth is squarely behind me. at work i'm surrounded by co-workers that are 10-15 years younger then me. there are a few who are older, but i'm in this weird area where i don't have too many peers. i have a few close friends, a wife, i'm not super depressed or anything. just a strange place to be right now.

so what sticks in your head, and is bugging you Sup Forums?

Do you have kids retard

The fact that I still come to Sup Forums.

How old? Single?

His name is Meatloaf

What is the biggest problem OP? Do you have hobbies or you work go home and just wait for the next day? I'm half your age so I don't think I can understand your situation, but isn't that just the typical mid-life crisis? Stagnation in a family setting and just taking each day at a time. You have a kid and a legacy to nurture, so I think you should be pretty content with your position.

U marry a asian boi?

40 HOLY FUCK THAT IS OLD.

hard to imagine being 40 and grey and wrinkly.

does your cock even work at 40?

Same age, same feeling. Everything just turned out so...average. 42 seems too old to start over.

yeah i have hobbies, friends, a career. maybe it's just that when you are young you have something to prove, something that drives you. that thing pushes you to buck trends, make waves, do things your own way. maybe i am just seeing that i am the establishment now. maybe it's just that i am in a new chapter of life, and don't know what the fuck i am supposed to do with it yet?

yeah no problems there. i figure i should have another 20-ish years out of it before it's in issue

No its not though. But my problem is how and what do i do in life now? Got a house, job, 2 cars. I'm just doing the daily grind 9 to five. I can't do that for another 20 years. Looking for a business idea to startup but wife is not supportive at all.

in our world, life is for the young unless you have some special compelling reason to be alive like a passion of some kind or a great family. Youth is accompanied by being thin, energetic and a staggering unawareness of one's own mortality or regard for whether your life will have any meaning in the larger scope of things or not

you are under 30 I'm guessing (I hope you are for your sake)

to pull that off the wife's gotta be on board. maybe just a change of scenery is in order? same career path, different city, state, ect?

Yeah that's my issue. She is not motivated enough and being nearly 40 herself now she's following her parents life of play it safe and arrive at the grave in one piece. Secretly regretting all the things she never did. She wants to run her own day care for kids and has the skills and qualification to do it and I have tried to support her to do this but she always finds a reason not to do it.

I kind of feel me and her are at a point where we are going different ways and I'm leaving her behind. The reason I have not already is my kids.

Testosterone and hgh injections my man. Will give you that drive and feeling back. Trust me mate will be the best decision you ever make. Go into an anti-aging clinic and get your blood work done. Changed my life

You should support national socialism

what sticks in my head?
i went on my balcony to smoke
saw my neighbour get dropped off
it's like 3 am, perfect timing
haven't talked to him in ages
used to be good friends

thats why i say maybe a change of surroundings could work. it might be an easier sell if you stay in the same field. that might give her the security she needs, and get your head in a better place?

>so what sticks in your head, and is bugging you

In less than 5 years I'll be 30, and I don't know if I am where I should be right now. I don't really feel like enough of a man to be 30, I should be entering my prime right about now but I've got no amazing qualifications to get a high end job, will I ever be more than I am right now? I don't even have a place of my own, or a decent car. I'm thinking about getting a mortgage so I can move out of home, but it will only be into a unit and at best I could pay it off in 15 years by which time I'll be 40. If I pay it off in 15 years I should forget about university and higher education.

Will I ever be more than I am right now?
