Why haven't you learned to play an instrument, user?

i'd love to, but i don't have the time and space to be alone often enough to practice.
It's on my bucket list to be able to play guitar though

Bumping with guitar porn

I didn't want to play an instrument, no regrets

...

I play bass guitar.
Pic related
My main bass I play.

butt fucking ugly

I dont have money for guitar lessons

Fucking metal zone loving faggot

Drumfag here.
Wish I'd never bothered.
Nobody gives 2 shits anymore.

Hot
Nice, the guard over the strings doesn't get in the way? I tend to slap the shit out of my basses
Why so?

so? I've been playing for 5+ years now
>never took lessons
>never looked up any tutorials
>listened to songs and played along until I knew hot to play them right
I write my own songs now and experiment with all kinds of string based instruments.

I play the spanish guitar. This is me live some years ago youtube.com/watch?v=e9RS4biqyAc

Drummers are the single most in-demand musician there is. Studio session work, touring drummers, hell, any band will take a drummer that can keep a beat. You're VERY valuable.

Got an Epi LP studio deluxe which was my first guitar, a late 1987 kramer and a 7 string jackson which was the cheapest 7 string I could find that I picked up just to see if I like 7 strings or not . Will post pics when I get home

Problem is most cannot keep a good live beat for a long time OR they are to busy huffing paint with the bass player.

Everyone only wants fucking machines atm.
Aside from hardcore blastbeat shit I can't do.
Anything else I'm fine with.

Actually I took the pick guard off because it was getting in the way lol.

Picture of my rig. You might remember me from last week's gear thread.

Not a problem user, neither did I. Think of your favorite simple sounding song and head over to ultimate-guitarDOTCOM
There's a wealth of information there to get you started and you don't even need to know how to read music.

Oh, were doing this? Cool

OP plays the skin flute and the tromboner

...

what kind of music do you play?
>currently looking for vocalist/drummer
we play slow and heavy so its an easy gig

>started learning guitar
>liked it
>learned some riffs
>be okay with basic riffs
>set a goal to learn a certain solo
>couldn't
>couldn't
>couldn't
>guess I don't have the brain or motor skills to go beyond simple riffs
>gave up

I wasn't making any progress so I ditched it.

Are keyboardists welcome here too?

guitar porn? this is some real faggy shit.

That goes for aswell

Or they're already in 9 other bands.

I'll take a real drummer over a machine any day. I'd look like a fucking faggot onstage with a drum machine playing with my band.

Picture is a guitar I made. It sounds better than it plays, unfortunately.

Anything really. (except reggae, that was a TERRIBLE experience)

I'm "learning" the piano. I tried taking classes but it didn't work so I play by ear. Does anyone have anything that could help an aspiring musician?

props

>looks like nothing but fenders
you most likely have shit taste bud

That's literally every guitar player. Keep going, you don't have to play uber fast bullshit to be a good guitar player. My pedals are a better musician than I am because I layer the fuck out of them.

Always!

You're pretty upset about custom made guitars.

Except there's 2 Ibanez, a musicman, a warwick, an LTD, a self-build and 1 fender. Nice B8 tho

I'm the same, I just can't force myself to sit down and learn off scales and then try to improv solos from that. I play things that resemble solos tho, just learned off a few licks and play them in random order. I'm better at playing riffs tho, they seem to come in easy

>ibanez
even worse
also
>assumptions
>reading comprehension

maybe not, was looking for something less 'edgy' and less repetitive

youtube.com/watch?v=DyF8rt6O-fE

...

>less 'edgy' and less repetitive
that's pretty vague; but can't force it if it doesn't fit right.
The kind of shit that happens when the circumstances of a gig pisses me off.
>paying $200 for a 30 min slot at a restaurant

Sax and marching percussion fag here

kek'd

I've never seen instruments like this-obviously $$$-what are they?

no originality in that unless you are writing amazing things

> I'd look like a fucking faggot onstage with a drum machine playing with my band.

What did you just say

Marcus Miller-very nice

I just got this rg350exz for Xmas I've been playing the shit out of it, I also have a black ibanez mikro I put green neon strings on and an acoustic electric Yamaha apx 3 I have a crappy Yamaha practice amp I use that came with it but I'm going to get it repaired and replace it with a triple rec eventually for pedals I have a boss distortion and a boss dynamic wah but I also want to get the boss chorus and pitch shifter pedals

Amazing is subjective.
I write things.

Drums master race

But will it djent

I don't think you are Bulb but if you are, you have excellent taste in guitars.

Guitar porn? Bitch have you never seen a cherry red 339?

bass fag here

year?

I also have a Moog model d and a prophet 12. Along with some stomp boxes.

Not really a strat fan, but yours looks cool

I remember you you're the guy who posted some threads about buying this one right? I have to say I like it alot how are you liking it? Have you bought more guitars since then?

>plays boring repetitive drone metal riffs over prerecorded drum loops

> I'd look like a fucking faggot onstage with a drum machine playing with my band.

Agoraphobic nosebleed aren't faggots. Especially being headliners last year.

Ah yes, the Marcus Miller. Is yours Mexican or Jap?

I haven't posted anything about this guitar actually. I bought this guitar about 4 months ago and i fucking love it so much. i got it on B stock for about $800 because there was a tiny blemish that you couldn't even see. its in a shop right now getting a push/push volume pot 0db-20db boost and a push/push coil split on the tone knob. i don't like push/pull knobs. on the fly it's easier to do a push/push

Ah it must have been someone else with the same guitar then, it's a nice choice I remember telling the other dude he wouldn't regret it, well at least I wouldn't regret buying that one

for their price point, i think they're the best 7 string guitars. especially the fact that they have the evertune bridge.

I love the LTD 1000 series. I personally like the Horizon and Mirage ones (the M, MH and H). Played a few Eclipses though.

I've been looking at 7 strings but I feel like jumping straight to a 12 for the kind of sound I want, pic is the Dean vendetta I've been thinking about

not enough strings. doesn't djent.

ukulele player here

I really don't get what the point is of having more than one guitar (or other instrument of choice.) Just taking up space.

>it's another shitty guitarists think they a musicians thread
I bet half of you cannot even read music

here's a pic of my set up for djing

and i did a short video where i kinda work my way through all the pieces and fumble around for a bit

youtube.com/watch?v=glfLVZk8KBo

Really want one of these

I used to be able to but I haven't practiced that at all so I just use tabs and my ears for some things

Probably a fair deduction.

>using a double bass pedal
>not using two bass drums
