Are people here stupid enough to actually be "libertarian socialist" or are they simply stupid enough not to see through loaded questions?

has it ever stuck you that the test gives you this label and that it might not be 100% what people identify as?

> social liberalism
lol how boring, but probably true. 10 years ago I was a pretty by the book left-anarchist. Then I studied economics, worked in development in a few developing countries, and studied international relations. Now I'm a slight capitalist, and I'm for democratic reform. I'm still very libertarian on social issues, with a couple small exceptions...

In music I've probably mellowed too. Back then my favorites were genres like no wave and industrial. Now they're things like crust punk, post-hardcore, and bebop.

A favorite:
> Wovenhand - s/t

I know it sounds like an oxymoron, but libertarian socialism is actually a historical term that just refers to any socialist that isn't authoritarian. The "libertarian" in the term doesn't refer to modern libertarianism, but rather as the antonym to "authoritarian." So it's basically just modern liberal/social democratic values taken to their extreme in both social freedom and social programs. A lot of people getting the result are probably liberals who believe really strongly in those values.

This quiz is pretty disappointing. The statements are far too broad, and there's no space to provide reasons or explanations for the questions or answers. Getting an accurate reading of something like this requires essay questions and answers. Even NationStates does a better job than this, and it's half-satirical and left-wing as it is.

I'm always surprised by how many responses these get when they're clearly far too simple to give any idea of what a person is like.

Might aswell judge people on sex or race.

p.s.
Representing societal axis progress with a nucleus is just plain retarded. It wasn't that long ago people held votes on the direction countries should go on with regard to nuclear power and guess which side was overwhelmingly against it to everyones detriment.
It's completely irrelevant. Put a rainbow flag there or a peace symbol. Far more relevant.

The only reason why this test is popular is because most people here don't know anything about politics

how socially isolated are you?

They are not his oppressors, though. They are not stealing his money, they are not forcing him to purchease certain items, nor do they own him. But the state does all of these things.

Microbreweries aren't really a thing in my country

> making people work lower and lower proportional wages as they work longer hours, and the profits go right to the top
> "not stealing"

> cheapest products are manufactured, cheap foods that lack nutrients
> "organic" foods are charged at excessively high prices
> "not forcing him to buy"

> "the state does all of those things"
> forced labor for below minimum wage at for-profit prisons supported by house Republicans

How stupid are you? One day you might wake up to how the world actually works. Or maybe not. Keep listening to Alex Jones, ya retard

He can just opt out and live in the woods or grow his own food.

Pinochet was an avowed capitalist and fascist

He can't move to any wooded areas that are privately owned, at least legally. The only woods he can move to are those that are publicly owned... and they're publicly owned because of state protections.

Until you realize there's no free or public property left. Even if there is, the big corps will find a way to get to you.
Neoliberalism and likewise ideologies (pretty sure Libertarian Capitalism is one of them) make no sense. People have control over the state through democracy, but not on corporations. It's only logical to agree on a necessary evil that we have some control over, rather than letting big corporations do whatever they want.

free does not really excist in a libertarian world. if he wanted that lot inna woods and then he can do whatever he wants there

Guided By Voices - Alien Lanes

jimi hendrix - electric ladyland

wat

I'm not advocating for an anarcho capitalistic society. Parks will still be a thing in a minarchistic world, but they will be privately funded.
People can just decide not to support shitty corporations. The state can execute you, where as Coca Cola cannot.

*if he wanted that lot inna woods he would have to buy it and then he can do whatever he wants there
i can't write it seems

Kanye - dropout

souvlaki

If you're a communist or socialist I truly hope you die a painful death

privately funded parks
How does that work? Do people have to pay a fee to spend time in the park? Or is the private corporation supposed to make it open to everyone to make a good impression on its customers? Do you really think the customers would care in strong enough numbers to pressure a company to take on something like that? Because usually social pressure campaigns blow over and everyone forgets about them within a few months, and then the corporation is left to do whatever it wants. The public is also notoriously bad at caring enough to investigate how well private corporations actually implement social programs, like those pertaining to the environment.

>kanye fans

Probably a super chill dude but something scaring happened to you when you were younger.
You're an idealist and you get a lot of hate from conservatives for your views but you're not dumb or a bad guy

My favorite album is Soundtracks For the Blind by Swans

>man what is advertisment/sponsorships

> hates leftists
> favorite band is a feminine indie band
> is a diplomatic moderate and a strong progressive
how's that working out for you?

So you're going to plaster advertisements all over the popular parts of the park? And what about the more remote parts that are important to wildlife? You're just hoping they won't choose to develop those areas into something more profitable?

Elliott Smith s/t

The thing is most libertarians are libertarians because they want freedom. What they don't realize is that a libertarian society does not equal freedom. You -have to- live under someone. Whether that is a state or a corporation is your call.
Like you said, "woods" is always an option but the thing is most land is either owned by the state or corporations. If you destroy the state, some corporation or another state will claim the leftover lands. In the end it doesn't work out well.
(I'm the 2nd guy)
Two things- first, the majority will not stop supporting shitty corporations unless these corporations are really bad at being a corporation. Look at Facebook for example, Zuckerberg literally said that people were "dumb fucks" for using his service, claiming they were fucking up their own privacy. No one cares because FB has become the norm. In the end, shitty corporations keep their "shitty" identity hidden, and they hide it very well.
Secondly, can Coca Cola really -not- execute you? Libertarianism gives too much power to corporations. They can easily bribe the state to set you up. You can't deny the politic-games of these corporations. I know Vox is extremely biased, but this video is a good example of big corporations politics youtube.com/watch?v=ba63OVl1MHw
There are many other examples too of course, not limited to the federal government or military corporations, but this is one I watched recently.

>all those libertaryan fags
also

i'd like this

>You -have to- live under someone
? corporations are not the boss of me. they have no way of enforcring any rules on me

Jon Hopkins - Immunity

damn you're stupid

Fishmans - Long Season

They don't? Let's say you decide to check out of society. Want to sleep in your car? You can't do it in any parking lots, because those are privately owned. Want to stay in the woods? If you don't want to rely on government-protected public parks, you'll need to go to private land, meaning you'll probably need to pay a fee. If you don't, the owners will get the state to punish you. If there is no state, they'll hire out a private security company, and private security companies are notoriously violent.

Want a meal? You can buy the food from a company, or you can go pick and hunt your own. To do this on private land, you need to pay a fee. The only way around this, is go to government-protected public land.

Want to bathe? You can pay somebody for a hotel room, or you can buy a gym membership. You'll need to pay a company for those. Or you can find a body of water that isn't government-protected, but if it's sanitary and isn't government-protected then it's probably privately owned, so you'll need to pay a fee.
